Verve Stamps: Sometimes the Smallest Things....

Hi Everyone,

Have you ever had a kind of day where you woke up and were already behind? Yep, it was that kind of day that I woke up to yesterday - the whole day was a blur of running late to everything - I can't even tell you how nice ti was to go home, kick off my snow boots (sooo looking forward to spring!) and steal a few minutes in my craft corner :)

And then I saw this gorgeous card that the fabu Ms. Amber Hight created for the Verve Diva Dare and I instantly said: "aaawwwwwww - how cute is that??!" and I wanted to try to make a Hight creation too!!! But, as I sat down to CASE Amber's gorgeous card, I just couldn't get mine to be "Amber-pretty" - so after wrestling with different layouts (phew! am I tired!) I settled on something simple.

I LOVE how Amber created this card using the super cute combo of the the To The Moon stamp set along with the Smallest Things Plain Jane stamp set from Verve Stamps. I adored her little trio of animals and so I started off with a similar trio and created a little baby girl card with some sweet pinks and greens from the MME alphabet soup collection:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Alphabet Soup MME and PTI cardstock
Stamps: To the Moon stamp set, Smallest Things Plain Jane from Verve Stamps
Ink: RoseRed ink and Tuxedo Black ink from Memento
Accessories: Heart punch from MS, ribbon from stash, liquid pearls, spellbinders nesties, corner chomper, twine, safety pin and dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment onto the Classy Label die from Verve stamps and then surrounded it with this super cute trio of fluffy adorableness :) I popped them up with some dimensionals and attached them to the nesties and then swirled a ribbon about and bowed it up above the trio (that sentence has so many grammatical errors!) I was feeling like it needed a little something and so added a little heart that I tired about the little Ellie's hand :)

I have to say that it was so much fun to make this card and I totally dedicate this card to Ms. Awesome Amber! Check out all the happenings going on over at the Verve Blog where this month the Diva Dare theme is Baby Love - and you have a chance to win some yummy Verve goodness!!!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!
Big hugs and hope you have a most excellent Thursday :)

JustRite Stamps Blog Hop - Birthday Celebrations

HI Everyone,
Tonight, we are showing samples from a super sweet birthday stamp set from JustRite Stamps called: Birthday Celebrations. This stamp set fits the 3-1/4" stampers and has 4 extra wide borders and comes with four 2" centers ( these extra wide borders are designed to be interchangeable with all of the 2" centers!). I loved the border with the flower-y looking petals, so I stamped that twice on the pink and yellow dp from DeLovely and cut them out and layered them ontop of each other. For the center sentiment I stamped "Let's Celebrate" and cut it out with my nesties and popped it up onto the center. I layered the little flower ontop the blue DP and yellow scallops that I cut out with my nesties. I love the sweet little swirls alongside the sentiment and dotted it up with some liquid pearls.

I added some little butterflies along one side of the card and blinged up their centers and added a little scallop to the bottom edge.  It was so much fun to create this card and make it bright and happy :) What is a celebration without some bright happiness :)

Card Ingredients:
Papers; DeLovely and PTI
Inks: Rosebud from Memento and Tuxedo Black from Memento Inks
Accessories: scalloped and circle nesties, EK success scalloped punch, liquid pearls, butterfly punch from MS, ribbon from stash, bling and dimensionals.

It was so much fun to create this card and add all the little layers. I can't wait to see all the gorgeous creations from the JustRite DT - hop on over with me and check out all the gorgeous creations with this fun stamp set:

JustRite Stamps: BirdHouses stamp set

Hi Everyone,

This evening JustRite stamps is showing samples from one of their new ribbed stamps: 3 1/4" Birdhouses (Interlocking). This stamp set features three sweet images of birdhouses and lovely circular sentiments. My favorite was this image of the stamp set that I colored with copics and adorned with some  twine at the top and a dot of liquid pearls in the centers of the flowers. I chose one of my favorite sentiment: "A bird does not sing because it has an answer, It sings because it has a song." I love that sweet sentiment.

I edged the circles with some liquid pearls and then matted it onto a scalloped nestie and popped it up onto one the DP. I finished it off with a little bling on the bottom corner:

Card Ingredients:
Papers: Crate Paper Restoration and PTI
Stamps: 3  1/4" Birdhouses from JustRite stamps
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black ink and copics
Accessories: liquid pearls, dimensionals, ribbon from stash, EK success scallop punch, nesties

I had so much fun coloring in the birdhouse image (coloring is such therapy!) and putting this card together!! Check out all the wonderful creations with this lovely stamp set from some of the amazing DT from JustRite stamps:

Love Birds in a Wreath of Love

HI Everyone,

I had a chance this morning to play - just for fun - in my craft area :) I love when that happens and I have to say that it was such a great form of therapy!

I created this card using one of the sweetest little Petite Stamps called: Wreath of Love from Taylored Expressions that was released in January. I adore these two little love birds in the nest and the sentiment : "You're Welcome in my Nest Anytime" totally cracks me up! ha!  I paired the sentiments and image with the large frame from the New Beginnings stamp set. I used all the accessories and papers from the January Key Ingredients kit (you can see more projects with this kit on the KI blog). The colors in this kit are so happy and bright and makes me yearn for spring! :)

It was fun to add some sparkle to the hearts and pop the birds in the nest on top of the wreath. I added a little trio of buttons to the bottom and a line of the ribbon on the edges of the image panel.

 Card ingredients:
Paper: All papers are from the Key Ingredients kit from January from Taylored Expressions
Stamps: Wreath of Love and New Beginnings from Taylored Expressions
Ink: RoseRed and Bamboo Leaves and Tuxedo black from Memento
Accessories: heart punch from MS,EK success punch, liquid pearls, dimensionals, stickles and copics

I popped up the center of the frame and finished it off with some sponging and liquid pearls. It was so much fun to make this card - and I love getting some stamping in the early hours of the morning! what a great way to start the day :) Well, I am off to an exciting day filled with laundry, dishes and vacuuming ( I know I know, its so exciting around here)!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hope that you have a wonderful rest of your weekend and a great start to your week tomorrow!
Big hugs,

JustRite Stamps: You are a Wonderful Friend

Happy Saturday Everyone,
I am very grateful that it is saturday - there is nothing like being able to sleep in bed under the covers when you are feeling sick and everything outside is so very cold and gray - ugh. I have to admit that I am dreading monday - hoping that all this congestion is gone by then and my head feels less like cotton balls :) There is nothing like a little stamping to clear the head ;)  I had a chance to play along with one of the new gorgeous JustRite cling stamps called: You Inspire Me. I love all the frames that fill this stamp set and the sentiments are so very sweet and lovely. I wanted to make a card for a dear friend of mine and wanted her to know how much I appreciate her friendship over almost 20 years! Its so strange to write that - time does fly by and I remember thinking 20 years ago that the age I am now at present - was so very old (ha!)  now I remember how even though I thought that I knew so much back then, I realize that I really didn't know very much at all :) Anyhow, I wanted to make my friend a special card and I feel so grateful that even across this span of years we are connected.
The frames are all so lovely, that I think one of the hardest things was choosing which one to use :) I picked the large ovalesque frame and stamped the image in white onto black cardstock, cut out the oval frame in the cneter and popped it over the turquoise cardstock onto which I stamped the sentiment: "You are a Wonderful Friend":

Card Ingredients:
Paper: cardstocks from stash
Stamps: You Inspire Me stamp set from JustRite stamps
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Stazon White ink
Accessories: EK success scallop punch, bling from Bazzill, nestabilities, ribbon from May Arts, red tacky tape, dimensionals and liquid pearls.

I traced over the frame over with some liquid pearls and then embellished a few scallop edges with them as well. I was going to add another accent color, but kind of liked the black/white and turquoise feel, so I added a little ruffled edging to the sides of the card and some bling on the bottom.

I hope that she will feel the love within this card and can't wait to see her soon :)
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope your weekend is happy and sunny!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

VLV Sketch #4 - Be Mine

HI Everyone,

Today is Friday and that means that there is a brand new Viva La Verve Sketch happenin! And I am so excited to be hosting the last sketch for January (make sure to check out all the Verve sketches for January here!) and when I drew up the sketch - I had one person in mind - dearest Marisa who is definitely NOT a fan of any panels that tilt! The last time I did a VLV sketch - it had a tilted panel and I think I could hear her groan when she saw it :D  so when I was drawing the sketch for this week's sketch challenge - I tried to make one without a tilted panel in honor of you dearest Marisa :)! Of course if you want to tilt a panel - please feel free to tilt away - all tilting welcome!
For my card today, I had to use Emery - I adore this little guy! I cut out the panels using my nesties and popped up Emery (whose belly I paper pieced) onto the center panel. I stamped a heart from the Love Notes stamp set,  paper pieced the cute kites from the To The Moon stamp set and used the sentiment: "Be Mine" from the Swirling Hearts stamp set

Card Ingredients:
Paper: MME and PTI cardstock
Stamps: the heart is from the Love Notes stamp set, the paper pieced kites are from To The Moon stamp set, the sentiment "Be Mine" is from the Swirling Hearts stamp set, Emery (Plain Jane) stamp image from Verve Stamps.
Ink: Rich Cocoa and Tuxedo Black from Memento Ink
Accessories: liquid pearls, EK success scallop punch, heart punch from MS, bling from stash, dimensionals, copics, ribbon from Emma's Papiere, nesties, baker's twine and red tacky tape.

I loved making this card - I think the best part of making it was having some time to myself last night - the kids were in bed, the house was quiet and all was good! I love those quiet moments :) I love this little Emery guy - and can't wait to make some more cards with him - he is just sooo very sweet!

Hope you will play along with the sketch challenge! One person who completes all 4 of the VLV sketch challenges this month will win the entire Verve Release - you can check out the VLV page for more details on how to win lots of yummy Verve!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

JustRite Stamps: Fancy Frames

HI Everyone,

Happy Almost Friday! I am so happy that the weekend is almost here - there has been too much going on over here and I feel like I need some time just to be with family and spend some much needed downtime doing family things. We had a chance to travel this last weekend up north to visit family and one of our dear friends who is like my little sister was not able to be there - so I created this card to send to her with the sentiment: Miss You. I don't know why I chose the monochromatic look of an all-greenish palate - but it was fun to see how all the accessories came together for it :)

I used one of the brand new cling stamps from JustRite stamps called Fancy Frames that is seriously gorgeous - I truly love these frames and how you can mix and match the sweet sentiments in them (they are also compatible with the new Spellbinders that will be released soon!). I stamped and and embossed both the frames in the stamp set with gold EP and then sponged ink onto the frames after using a heating it. I popped up the smaller frame with the sentiment: Miss You onto the larger frame and finished the edges with some liquid pearls.

Card Ingredients:
Paper: green papers from stash and cardstock from PTI, butterfly papers from stash (OA mostly)
Ink: Bamboo Leaves from Memento inks
Accessories: butterfly punch from MS, bling from stash, flower from Prima, border punch from EK success, dimensionals, gold EP and liquid pearls.

I scored the cardstock and then trailed some dots over the scored lines and finished it off with some bling and some popped up butterflies. The leaves of the flower added to the right side were hand cut out and then the little corner embellishment on the left corner is cut out and then blinged up a little :)

Please check out the JustRite stamps store for some wonderful sales that are going on!!

I loved making this card for my friend Carolina - (and if you are reading this Carolina - know that you were sooo missed this weekend and we can't wait to see you soon! xoxo!) It was fun to create a monochromatic card and I want to create more of these!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hope you are having a wonderful week!
Big hugs and love,
Sankari :)

Blast From the Past Blog Hop #7 - Taylored Expressions

Hi everyone,

Every month Taylored Expressions hosts a Blast from the Past Blog Hop - where all TE fans can sign up for the blog hop and use their fave TE stamps from previous releases. This month, the theme was to create something with "Love is in the Air" and I knew that I wanted to use the cutest little elephants from the Stamps A La Carte Elephants in Love.  I love these cute elephants and love that they are showering everyone with hearts :)

I used the sketch from this month's Blast From The Past and used the new Be Mine DP from Echo Park - love the grays in this collection! I stamped the ellie heart image onto the Snow White Choice cardstock. I paper pieced some of the hearts and then colored the rest of the hearts and the cute ellies with copics. After finishing, I finished with my clear spica glitter and applied a few epoxy hearts to the stamped image.  I cut out the stamped image using the Taylored Dies: Take Note Die -3 and stamped the sentiment "showered with love" and made it a wavy flag. I had fun with the white opal liquid pearls and finished off the card with a trio of hearts on the bottom of the card:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Echo Park:  Be Mine DP and Snow White Choice cardstock
Stamps: Elephants in Love stamp from Taylored Expressions
Ink: Tuxedo Black ink
Accessories: heart epoxy stickers and ribbon from stash, Take Note Die -3,  dimensionals, EK success punch, white opal liquid pearls and clear spica glitter.

I loved stamping these cute elephants! All of the animals in love stamps are so cute - you can check them out here.  Also check out THIS POST on Taylor's blog for details on some special products over at Taylored Expressions that are on a Special VALENTINE's SALE from now through the 23rd of January to get you into the Valentine's Day crafting mood!!

Diva Dare: Baby Love

Hi Everyone!
I am excited to be hosting Day 3 of the Diva Dare Challenge over at the Verve Blog today. Every there will be a different theme to and this month the theme is to create a card, project, layout with the theme Baby Love! The baby part could be for a new little someone...or a special someone!

Can I tell you how much I have been loving the sweet little animals that Julee has created with the To The Moon stamp set? Each of the little baby animals are soooo adorable and I couldn't wait to give them some more love for my project today. One of our sweet friends is having a baby in a couple of months (a wee baby girl!) and so I couldn't wait to create a little somethin' somethin' for her and her little bundle of preciousness :) I used this little onesie template (created by stampercolleen on SCS) and decided to create a little onesie card and matching giftbag:

For the onesie, used yummo Pixilicious papers and cut out the onesie pattern and outlined it with a bit of liquid pearls and used the little teddy bear with the window frame technique (Jackie and Amy - I totally love how you did the little guy in the window and I couldn't wait to "window" him too :D I punched out a little heart for him to hold and popped up the sentiment "welcome" on the side.

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: To the Moon stamp set from Verve Stamps:
Papers: Pixilicious from CC and cardstock from PTI
Inks: Memento Rich Cocoa, Tuxedo Black and Grape from Memento
Accessories: MS heart punch, bling, eyelets, EK sucess punch, dimensionals and button from stash.

For the giftbag, used one of the 6x6 pages from the DP set and had that as the background with another paper pieced onesie on the front. I decorated this onesie with the Classy Oval frame from the Love Notes stamp set. I stamped the sentiment: "Sugar and Spice and everything nice" onto the frame and then attached a little bear with a heart on it and popped it up onto the gift bag. I finished the bag off with a bit of ribbon:

Gift Bag Ingredients:
Stamps: To the Moon and Love Notes stamp sets from Verve Stamps
Papers: Pixilicious by CC
Inks: Grape and Rich Cocoa (Memento)
Accessories: Giftbag, liquid pearls, MS heart punch, ribbon from stash, buttons and dimensionals

It was so much fun to create this for my friend and love this month's Baby Love theme!!! If you play along with this month's theme - you could win a LOT of  Verve goodies !! Please stop by the Verve blog today for more details on how to win - and how to play along!

I loved playing with the frames and stamped and embossed both of them with a clear EP and then sponged them in the middle with some Cantaloupe ink and then did some liquid pearl detailing on them. I layered the small frame ontop of the larger frame and then popped up the sentiment cut with my circle nesties onto the middle. I finished it off with some liquid pearling, ribbon and a flower :)

Card Ingredients:
Papers: from stash
Inks: Cantaloupe and Ladybug Red (Memento Inks)

Final 2S4Y sketch - Heartfelt Thanks

Every monday for the last 2 years Laura and Kazan have presented a new sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You everyone to play with and they have created a wonderful stamping community who come together every monday and through the week and play along with bloggers all around the world with their wonderful sketches.  They are both so sweet and incredibly creative! I feel so honored to have been on the 2 Sketches 4 You Design Team and to have worked with Laura and Kazan. This monday, will be the last sketch from these wonderful girls as they move on to some other wonderful creative opportunities - but they will keep the blog and sketch gallery open so that everyone can peruse it for inspiration and to get their creative mojo going! They have invited all the 2S4Y design team - past and present to play along with their final sketches, which are simply beautiful!
I wanted to create a bon voyage card for these wonderful girls - but what I ended up doing was creating a thank you card for them using Laura's final sketch. I can't even thank them enough for allowing me to be part of their DT and for all their hard work over all of this time in commenting on everyone's cards and for all their encouragement and super positivity, so dearest Kazan and Laura  - thank you so much for everything that you do and have done! You guys simply rock!

One of the things that I have always loved about their sketches is that they allow and encourage you to take the sketch and run with it - you never know where you might end up once you start :) I loved the heart on the top right corner and so wanted to use the "heart" as a theme for the card and so I used the brand new Fancy Tags stamp set from JustRite Stamps ((that will also coordinate with some new Spellbinders to be released :) and this stamp set is will be part of the new line of JustRite Cling stamps
I used the hearts on one side to create a border and the ribbon on the other side to create the other border and attached the Fancy tag with the sentiment "heartfelt thanks" to one of the hearts up in the corner. I might have gone a bit crazy with the liquid pearling onto the ribbon - but what can I say - it is slightly addictive!

Thank you so much dearest Kazan and Laura for creating such a wonderful 2S4Y community and family! You girls are amazing and I know that everything that you pursue and go for will just shine with your brilliant touch! Wishing you both the best in everything and sending you both so much heartfelt thanks and love!!!

Big hugs and smiles across the miles,
Sankari :)

Viva La Verve- Week #3 (January 14,,2010)

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday! Every Friday there is a Viva La Verve Sketch that will be hosted by a different Verve Diva and today the loveliest Tosh is hosting the VLV challenge with this lovely sketch! I love tilted panels (as some of you know ;) and I couldn't wait to play along :) One of my sweet friends just had a little baby boy this week (yay!) and I loved getting peeks of his sweet cheeks on the pictures that they sent and couldn't wait to make a special card for them!

I used the sweet sentiments from the To The Moon stamp set which has the sweetest little baby stamps and sweetest sentiments and also I used one of the darling little Plain Janes of this cutie: Emery, who I think is one adorable Elephant! I wanted to have Emery hold the heart, so I cut is arms out a little bit so that he seems to be holding the heart:

Here is a close up of Emery and the I used the heart from the Love Notes stamp set and cut out the tag using the Sweet Scallop Tag. I added a little ribbon embellishment and wound some twine through their and attached a little tag to the bottom of it with the sentiment: Sweet Little Baby:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Alphabet Soup (MME) and cardstock from PTI
Stamps: Emery (Plain Jane), Love Notes, To The Moon stamp sets from Verve Stamps
Inks: Tuxedo Black ink and Bahama Blue ink
A Cut Above Verve Dies: Sweet Scallop Tag die
Accessories: Eyelets (Making Memories), twine, liquid pearls, dimensionals, ribbon from stash, red lined tape and copics

I loved making this card for this tiny wee baby who has just made his appearance! I can't wait to hold him when they come next time into town - but in the meantime I am excited to send them a little card from all of us! :)

One lucky person can win the ENTIRE January release from Verve stamps!!! All you have to do is to complete all 4 Verve Sketches in January - check out all the details here; Viva La Verve (January)

Go Confidently in the direction of your dreams.......

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are doing well! We have been in a major cold front here and I feel like my fingers and toes are constantly frozen - that and keeping the kids busy and out of mischief on snow days have created some crazy days around here! I am always so happy to escape for awhile to my craft corner and I couldn't wait to make this card using the stamp set that Taylor beautifully illustrated called New Beginnings which was released earlier this month from Taylored Expressions!

I love the roses in this stamp set - love them - loooooove them - lOVe them! Did I mention that I love them? :) I love that the open roses and the solid roses that you can mix and match. For this card - I stamped the open roses with white ink onto black cardstock and then stamped a solid rose in Ladybug Red ink from Memento. I adore the frame that is in this stamp - and inked it up and then added a little chunky glitter to it:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: from stash
Stamps New Beginnings from Taylored Expressions
Ink: Ladybug Red ink, Stazon white,
Accessories: chunky glitter, bling, Apple with White dots ribbon, Leafy Branch Die , liquid pearls, and white gel pen

I stamped one of my favorite sentiments from Thoreau with white ink and then popped it up onto the center of the frame. I popped up the roses and then added some leaves with the Leafy Branch Die from TE and finished it off with some of the Apple with White dots ribbon.

I love how this turned out - it was so much fun to stamp the roses and create a little black and white DP :)  It's been so much fun to create cards with this set - there are so many possibilities!

Hope your day is full of all kinds of fun stuff  - thanks so much for stopping by today!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

PS - here is a link to learn more about all the Taylored Dies - and here is the one that I used today:

HI Everyone,
Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ours was rather quiet and trying to recover from being under the weather (can't wait for summer weather - we are not fans of this cold weather flu season - ugh!) But on a brighter note - I have some fun Verve-iness today :)  For those of you who missed the Verve release party last Friday night, there’s an after-party going on over on the Verve Blog today. Head on over to see some of our favorite Diva creations with the new release! This new release is seriously filled with a ton of amazing stamps and dies -
AND now through the end of January, you there is a sale when you purchase the January Stamp Collection! YAY! There are so many fun creations that I didn't have a chance to share last week - so I thought that I would show one of my favorite ones!! This card uses the Sweet Treats stamp set:

Paper: Echo Park: Be Mine
Ink: Tuxedo Black and Rose Red from Memento Ink
Accessories: Classy Label Die (Verve), May Arts ribbon, dimensionals, EK success punch, red line tape,Websters Trim, Large Bling from Bazzill, Baker's Twine and Liquid pearls.

I stamped the die in RoseRed  ink and then cut it out using the Classy Labels Die which is a new die that Julee is releasing this month! I love how it turned - I the middle out and stamped the sentiment: "You Rock" separately and then popped up the die on top of the sentiment. I stamped the hearts in this set and then stitched them into a hanging row and tied it with some twine into the ribbon. I love the Be Mine papers from EP and after adhering the elements of the card, I curled a little piece of paper and attached it around the sentiment :)
