Taylored Expressions: July Key Ingredients Blog Hop day2

Hi Everyone!

Today we at Taylored Expressions are showing more samples from the fabulous July Key Ingredients kit featuring the DP from Basic Grey's Knee Highs (and it comes with a coordinating stamp of the month - check out yesterday's post!)! The Key Ingredients kits are an awesome way to get your creative mojo on because everything comes color coordinated - ready for you to get your craft on!

So today, I created a card with JUST the July Key Ingredients kit and made a Happy Birthday card for my mother-in-law (AND can you believe that I actually gave it to her! I am usually not very good about mailing the cards I make, but I was so proud of myself for getting this one to her ON her birthday!! woohoo!! :D)

I paired this with the It's Your Birthday - A la Carte stamp set and colored in the letters with colors that matched the DP and then added a bit of glaze to the balloons:
I love making a card with little squares as the background - great way to create a bit of variety in the card - but it was mostly because I love all the different DPs in this set and wanted to use them all!! I added a little bit of embellies to each square and then added a little bit of liquid pearls to the side - here is a closer peek:
Card Ingredients:
Stamp set: It's Your Birthday - A La Carte from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: All ribbon from the July KI kit, EK success scallop punch, liquid pearls, glaze, heart punch, dimensionals, copics, twine and buttons from stash

Please check out these amazing artistes and their creation with this month's awesome Key Ingredients Kit:

Taylored Expressions - July Key Ingredients & SOTM Blog Hop Day 1

Hi Everyone!

Hope your summer has been sweet and wonderful!

Today the ladies from the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Design Team and the Baker's Dozen Team are coming together to show projects from the newest Key Ingredients Kit for July ALONG with a coordinating Stamp of the Month - which this month is called: Cute Hoot!!

This is such an absolutely adorable stamp set!! I love the owls in the stamp set, but today, I chose to use the beautiful flower and coordinating leaves with the sweet tag sentiments: "Happy Birthday" and "Hugs & Kisses"
Card Ingredients:
Stamp set: Cute Hoot (stamp of the month for July 2013) from Taylored Expressions
Papers: July Key Ingredients Kit from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Dandelion, Canteloupe, Bahama Sky, Sky Blue, Rose Red, Bamboo Leaves (see image links below)
Accessories: Best Glue Ever, Burlap Twine - Ivory, corner chomper, Bookmark Die, Cloud Border die, Scallop Eyelet die, foam dimensioanls

I sponged the clouds using the Cloud Border die and then created some grass with a MS grass punch and then cut the sky and earth out with the Bookmark Die. To this I then added the flower image (which is a closed stamp so it is so easy to already get a colored image) with two colors of yellow. And then I added a stem and leaves in the same way - giving them some dimension by popping it with some foam dimensionals. This is such a sweet stamp set - and I absolutely LOVE these papers - so much fun - and the best part is that it comes with coordinating card stock and ribbon! Makes it so easy to get ready to create!!!

Speaking of which, I can't wait to see what the rest of the girls have created with this Key Ingredients kit and the stamp of the month (SOTM) from July!!! Please hop with me and check them out:

Taylored Expressions: Share Joy Campaign

Hi Everyone,

Today is a special day over at Taylored Expressions! Earlier this week Taylor launched her new web-store Taylored Expressions and today she is introducing the Share Joy campaign which is an invitation for all of us to share our happiness when we craft a handmade card! Here is more about this campaign in Taylor's words:

The Share Joy campaign is an invitation to celebrate the joy of card making and to share that joy with others.  The gift of a handmade card can bring a smile to anyone’s face, and we want to bring as many smiles as we can to the faces of people around the world!  Please join us in creating and sending handmade cards that will make a difference in the lives of others.

I love this campaign because it is all about focusing on why we create handmade cards and projects in the first place - to share joy - to bring joy and to let our words be of comfort and joy. I think my most favorite thing about creating cards to give to someone is to see the look on their face when they open it - just their smile makes me so happy :) It makes the whole card making process so sweet and so much fun!

Today, I made a fun little encouragement card using the Make the Grade stamp set: I love the simple sentiment: A+!!! Who wouldn't want a card with straight A's - I know that I always did in school - and couldn't wait to have my mom put it on the fridge!!! LOL!

Card Ingredients:
Stamp: Make the Grade stamp set from Taylored Expressions
Papers: scrap pieces from Simple Stories and Bazzill
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black and Ladybug Red inks
Accessories: dimensionals, corner chomper, green grosgrain ribbon, bling, EK success mini scallop punch and liquid pearls.

Check out Taylor's Blog today to see how you can participate in this campaign and Share Joy where you can donate your cards to a different charity - the first one will be to donate cards to hospital chaplains - and if you use TE stamps and send them in by August 16th, your card can be featured on the homepage for the September release! Learn more about this Share Joy campaign and  start by sharing the Joy!!! Check out all these amazing designers who are sharing the joy!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today - you are an A+!
Hugs,
Sankari :)

Taylored Expressions Launch Party!

Hi Everyone!

Taylored Expressions has a brand new look! From a new logo to a whole new website!! It is seriously beautiful!!! And to celebrate this - Taylor has a free stamp promotion that you can get with a purchase of $20 or more from now through July 14th!! And if you set up an account at the TE store between today and friday - there will be 10 people who will be randomly chosen to receive a gift certificate of $25 - woot woot!!! To kick off the celebration  - the Baker's Dozen has a little blog hop with the brand new stamp set: Summer Love that you can get FREE with a $20 purchase:

This set is so cute - seriously perfect for summertime - doesn't it just bring up great memories of the ice-cream truck making it to your block and you pleading with your parents for some money for ice cream?! I used to sit on the stoop of our building grown up with all my friends enjoying yummy popsicles that would melt down my hand from the heat of the july summer sun. I love this super cute ice cream truck from TE - its so happy - here is the card that I made with this set:

I colored in the ice cream truck with copics and then created a mask for it to sponge a little summer sky background with the Cloud Border Die and used papers from the Echo Park A Perfect Summer (6x6) DP . I also added some glaze to the windows and to the ice cream cone on the sentiment: "Celebrate". I added a little border using the Large Scallop Border die from Taylored Expressions. Here is a closer peek at the ice cream truck and the glazed windows and the pennant created from DP pack:

And I didn't want to leave the inside of the card bare - so I created a little YUM sign with the ice cream that I mounted on the inside of the card:

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Summer Love from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa and copics
Papers: Echo Park A Perfect Summer (6x6) DP
Accessories: Circle punch, glaze, Large Scallop Border die from Taylored Expressions, ribbon, dimensionals, liquid pearls and glue dot

Thank you for your Service!

Hi Everyone!

Hope you had a wonderful and spectacular 4th of July for all my American friends and a lovely week! We had a super sweet holiday spending time with some close family friends and went down to the water to see the fireworks light up the sky! It always amazes me - every single time, I am just blown away by the colors, combinations and shapes of the fireworks that light the sky- but more than anything it is watching them with my friends and family - that is really what makes everything so special.

And so on that note, I wanted to make a special card to someone who is serving the US who is not able to spend time with their family because they are in active duty - so I used the wonderful Stars & Stripes stamp set with Coordinating Die from Taylored Expressions :) I started by creating the base with the Ray of Sunshine Cutting Plate with the DP from the Doodle Bug Stars & Stripes paper pack and then cut the die of America with some DP and popped up the sentiment: Thank You For Your Service over part of the US and then ini shed it off with the Pennant Border Die on the side with some bling:

Here is a closer peek at the card from a different angle:

Card Ingredients:
Stamps:Stars & Stripes stamp set with Coordinating Die
PaperDoodle Bug Stars & Stripes
Inks: Memento Bahama Blue
Accessories: die of the United States comes with the Stars & Stripes stamp set with Coordinating Die,  Pennant Border DieRay of Sunshine Cutting Plate , Bling, ribbon and dimensionals.

There are so many wonderful souls who serve this country - something that is easy to take for granted - making this card was super quick and easy and made me happy and I hope that it mades someone's day :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend of happiness!!
Ciao for now!
Sankari :)

PS - Stop by on Monday to see some new exciting events that will celebrate the opening of the Taylored Expressions store!!! :)
