Taylored Expressions March Release: Happily Ever After and Mr. & Mrs. Congrats Banner

Hi Everyone!!

Happy Leap Day!! Its our extra day in February and what a great way to celebrate by starting sneak peeks for the Taylored Expressions release for October! YAY! To start off the release - I created a project with the Happily Ever After Dies that coordinate with the previously released stamp set: Happily Ever After. The flowers and leaves in this stamp set can now be easily cut out with these dies and for my project, I created a framed piece that can be given as a gift for an anniversary or a wedding. I love this sentiment; "May happiness be yours, today and always." I stamped the flowers in this stamp set with different colors and then die cut them out, along with the leaves stamp set that was also die cut. The center panel was sponged and then embossed with the Lots of Dots embossing folder. I added some leaves from the Leafy Branch die to fill up the foliage and then added some bling to the center of the flowers (on the glass of the frame).

Here is another view of the side of the frame - I just love how this turned out and absolutely love the dies for this set that makes it so easy to cut out these stamps!

For my second project, I used the same stamp set with the new die: Mr. & Mrs. Congrats Banner. I went with a gold toned color combo and embossed the flowers and leaves in gold  and added the die to the center of card:

Emboss Resist Technique with Taylored Expressions

Hi Everyone!

Today I made a card using a technique that I have seen many times before, but have never tried! I was so excited to try the Emboss Resist Technique and was amazed at how easy it was to create a card that has such a unique feel to it. I started by using the Wherever You Go stamp set - beautiful images of hummingbirds and flowers and stamped a scene in the middle and then embossed it with clear powder and then sponged colors around it - brighter reds in the middle and a mixture of blues on the edges. I just absolutely LOVE how it turned out!!!! Check it out here:

After stamping in Versamark, using the heat gun and then inking the images with various colors, I die cut the image with the Stitched Square Stacklets and then layered it onto Granny Smith Cardstock and the Cookie Monster cardstock. I added some white Pico embellisher dots (Wedding Cake) and some clear dots (Shimmer) to the image panel, as well as some dots lining the card. I just love how this turned out!

I loved learning this technique and hope you enjoyed this card - let me know if you try it - would love to see your creations!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hugs,
Sankari :)

Hi Everyone,

It's time for the Verve Divas to bring you our monthly Diva Inspirations Challenge and Blog Hop! The pop of color in this industrial style loft speaks of the hope of spring in the midst of winter. Kind of like February... it's still cold and wintry, but new life is on the horizon.

I love the above inspiration pic - so many options! I decided to use the Blue Skies stamp set for my card today (to be honest, I not only love this stamp set, but it was still on my desk from my last card and I just had to use it again because I absolutely love each of these inspiring sentiments! For this card I used: "Within your heart keep one still secret place where Dreams may go." - Louise Driscol  - so inspiring! I also added a little banner using the Award Banner Die and used a heart element using the Jotted Heart die. I finished it with this beautiful butterfly stamp and added a little gloss to it and then some bling to the banners - Just absolutely love this stamp set:
