Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #48 - School of Rock

Good Morning Everyone!! Today brings on the 48th Challenge over at the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge, where every Saturday we pick a movie from which we draw inspiration from to create a card, layout, or altered project. This can be from taking inspiration from the themes of the movie, the costumes, the music, the characters, famous lines, time period of the movie - really anything! Today we are excited to feature the 2003 movie: School of Rock! In this movie, Jack Black pretends to be a substitute teacher and discovers muscial talents in his class = to whom he teaches the classics of rock. We thought that this would be a fun movie to do as we all transition into going to school, teaching at school or sending our loved ones off to school! The challenge requirement this week was to use some cork in our creation

I love that Jack Black teaches the kids to think outside the box and the Verve sentiment from Bountiful Backgrounds really stood out to me: Dare to be Different" - because he was taking prep school kids who were straight and proper and giving them a chance to let their inner rock star shine. I remember watching this movie when it came out - and thought how cute the kids were - adorable! I love that he inspired them taught them to find their own voice, style, calling  -  And that even though the kids might be learning how to play the classics perfectly - they still had to make it their own - their own interpretation - their own way to rock it out! Based on that I created this card: I had so much fun making it - and was totally excited to try some cork!!!

I used Mercy Kerin's sketch from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch for this week's Cinema card - (hi Mercy!!! :) I have been wanting to play along with her fun sketch challenge - and am so glad that I could play along this week :)

Card Details:
Paper: Teresa Collins
Ink: Grey ink
Accessories: cork, ribbon from stash, corner rounder, sponger, K&co bling, I forgot where that flower brad is from (it was fun putting it through the cork! :), circle punch from CM, red adhesive tacky tape.

I had so much fun using cork! Who knew cork could be fun on a card!? And it was fun to watch this movie as I made the card :)

Hope you have a chance to play along with Mercy's sketches and also play along with the Cinema Challenge this week! Please check out the details and lovely creations at the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge blog!

Thanks so much for visiting!
See you at the movies!
Hugs :)
