Verve Diva Inspirations May Challenge and Blog Hop

Hi Everyone!

The end of spring always brings a touch of wanderlust.  This collection of bracelets has me wishing for a sun drenched road trip filled with gypsy wonder and delight. 

For my project today, I decided to use the MojoMonday sketch #447 as a place to start for my card. I used the stamp sets: Big Wish (For the cake and image panel) and the sentiment: Remember This (for the sentiment panel). Here is a snippet of the sketch (on the left) - I decided that the two wraps of ribbon on either side could be in place of the other circles and the tilted image panel became a circle instead - here is how it all turned out:

Card Ingredients:

Cardstock: Taylored Expressions (granny smith, salt water taffy, kraft, sugar cube)

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black and Bamboo Leaves

April Verve Diva Inspiration Hop: Happy Birthday!

Hi Everyone!!!

A little tropical flair is in the air for inspiration this month. Bright pinks, aquas, golden tones and a touch of white promise easy breezy days ahead. There's no script for this inspiration... go floral, keep it modern, follow our color pattern or forge your own path, just show us your tropical chic inspired creations.

For my card today, I used the Small Packages stamp set from Verve Stamps and added a tropical flare to it with the different colors and made the cupcake the focal point with the sentiment "Happy Birthday"! I am always in need of birthday cards and I love these bright colors - makes me feel so happy to see colors that are so vibrant! I thought the background of the card was kind of the same as the fabric of that chair in the inspiration pic (how fun is that chair?!!) and added some twine at an angle for both fun and for the color of it all :)

Here is a closer peek at the cucpake - I love this cupcake - it is so much fun to color and also to "ice" - I added stickles to the whole cupcake and some chunky glitter to the non-shadow part for more texture :) - Love how this turned out!

This month I met a very special lady who inspired me with her honesty, integrity and desire to change her life. Being with her was an honor and I wanted to make a special gift for her - so I created a framed piece for her using the inspiring newly released Rise Above stamp set and the Partly Cloudy die set.  I didn't follow the color scheme exactly above - just saw sunshine and couldn't wait to use it! I love this sentiment and the coordinating dies!!

I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with the Rounded Rectangular die and matted it with the Rounded Scallop Frame,  I added the Heart Quartet dies to the center of the sun and to the side of the scalloped frame :) I finished it off with some bling to the hearts and some gray stain ribbon to either side of the card :) I can't wait to give this to her tomorrow!

Verve Diva Inspiration Hop - Feb2016 - Within Your Heart...

The pop of color in this industrial style loft speaks of the hope of spring in the midst of winter. Kind of like February... it's still cold and wintry, but new life is on the horizon. 

I love the above inspiration pic - so many options! I decided to use the Blue Skies stamp set for my card today (to be honest, I not only love this stamp set, but it was still on my desk from my last card and I just had to use it again because I absolutely love each of these inspiring sentiments! For this card I used: "Within your heart keep one still secret place where Dreams may go." - Louise Driscol  - so inspiring! I also added a little banner using the Award Banner Die and used a heart element using the Jotted Heart die. I finished it with this beautiful butterfly stamp and added a little gloss to it and then some bling to the banners - Just absolutely love this stamp set:

Our October challenge is Black, White and Glam
October always has a bit of glamour and intrigue to it. A stroll through the craft store this time of year brings visions of glitzy pumpkins, gilded candelabras and rhinestones galore. So this month we’re challenging you to to get glamorous with black, white and metallics. Use the inspiration graphic or go off on your own tangent, just share a little bit of glam with us!

For my card today I used the awesome pumpkins from the Bountiful Harvest stamp set from Verve stamps. I kept the card black, white and silver - except for the pumpkins - I tried to keep them more muted and on the grayscale. The sentiment was embossed with white detail powder and then I finished it with some bling here are there for stars in the sky: so much fun to create this!

Our July challenge is Sensational Stripes
Stripes go with everything! Make them nautical, or pair with florals for a graphic look. Use stripes however you're inspired! Use the inspiration graphic or head off in your own direction, just show us your stripes! 

I decided to use the colors from the challenge along with the stripe challenge with the stamp set: Small Packages - love the cupcakes in this stamp set and went with the small cupcake that I stamped a few times and then layered them next to each other in the frame stamp. I added some paper piecing to the cupcake and then finished with some bling for cherries and the sentiment "Belated Birthday Wishes" underneath:

Our May challenge is Let it Bloom

Florals are always fashionable. Let your creativity bloom and use some fabulous florals on your card. Use the inspiration graphic as a starting point, or head off in your own direction – just show us some blooms!

April Showers do bring May flowers and our yard is just starting to bloom with bright beautiful peonies! So in honor of our challenge and Mother's Day coming up, I wanted to create some bright florals using the Joyful Blooms stamp set with the Rounded Scallop Frame Die. I created a little cardset using these stamp sets ready to send out to the mother's in our lives

Here is a close up of one of the cards: I stacked the flowers together and then added a little bling to the centers and some liquid pearls to the white space to look like some embossing and then added a butterfly to the side with some bling for fun :)

Verve Diva's Inspiration Hop - One cool Chick

Our April challenge is Bunnies and Babies

Spring is a time of birth and renewal - celebrate the season by creating a card for Easter or a bouncing new baby. Use the inspiration graphic as a starting point, or head off in your own direction - just show us your sprightly spring creations!

I loved that springy wreath - such glorious colors to see after winter's end!! So I decide to create a wreath of sorts from the inspiration pic and used the flower stamp from the Coolest Chick stamp set from Verve stamps and stamped them around a cut circle and colored them in with copies. In the center, I stamped the sentiment: "You're the coolest chick I know"- LOVE the font on this and then popped a little chick from the set to peep out!

I wanted to "hang" the wreath like in the inspiration pic and so I used a brad and some ribbon and hung it onto the embossed Kraft card stock:

For my card today, I love the simplicity of the colors and all the white in the inspiration picture and so I used that with the Small Celebrations stamp set from Verve Stamps to create this card. I arranged the flowers on top of the card like the sweet folded balloons in the inspiration pic and then created a little striped "table" like in the picture with ribbons against a gray strip of cardstock:

For my card today - I drew inspiration from the colors in the inspiration pic (pink, gray and white) and also the sweet hearts that are coming out of the pitcher - so for my card I used the little heart dies From The Heart (die set) to create a banner and the Jotted Heart die (larger heart die) to stamp on the sentiment from the More than Love stamp set. 

I also used the sketch from the Mojo Monday sketch #383 for this week: love how this card turned out:

Here is a close up of the card - I created a banner by adhering the hearts on dimensionals and then added a line of liquid pearls above them to give the illusion of string - and then tied some twine on the ends of the banner as well as adding some pearls around the card:
