As soon as I saw these colors and that the awesome Tammy Hersberger (Tammy you are AWE-some chickie!!!) was the host over at the Color Throwdown, I had to play!! These colors are fabulous and all the ladies on the DT are da sweetest! Check out
all their past color challenges here!
Have you been checking out all the sneak peeks from the Verve divas and Julee (also known as DIVA extraordinaire) over at the Verve Stamps blog and at Julee's Poetic Artistry blog? They are fantabulous!! The release is tomorrow nite - so mark your calendars and check out the Verve blog for a chance to win some goodies!!!
I am SO excited to play along with these awesome chickies - here is my sneak peek at the stamp set: Budding Blossoms that Julee is going to be releasing tomorrow night, using her fabulous Verve sketches (this is AVS204). If you play along and do all 5 sketches - you could win the grand prize of getting alllllll the sets in tomorrow's release (and trust me - boy is it a fabulous release!!!!!!! - you can check out all the sketches here)
I wanted to make a simple card and was surprised at how quickly this came together! This black paper and yellow paper is a handmade soft flocky kinda of paper that was a gift from a friend of mine - which I have been saving forever and was so happy to use for this project :) The flowers are popped up on dimensionals and dew drop-a-fied :) - love the font of the sentiment in this set!
Stamp Set: Budding Blossoms from Verve
Paper: Pink is from stash and the Yellow and Black are handmade papers that were a gift from a friend of mind - the "kraft" paper is from the Paper company and white cardstock is from Taylored Expressions: Choice Snow White
Ink: Stazon Black
Accessories: Sakura glaze pen (black), bling from K & Company, paper crimper, crystal stickles, dew drops from stash, dimensionals, corner rounder, ribbon from stash
And I couldn't stop playing around with this set so I made some more cards using the same sketch and same set and decided to go monochromatic :) I LOVE all the stamps that are in this set - and there are more images and sentiments that are in this set that aren't shown here. I love that they are designed to just go together and easily make a flower image - here are the rest: the card details are the same as above and I digged into my paper stash to make these cards:
Monochromatic Red - Thinking of You Card
Monochromatic Yellow - Thinking of You Card
Monochromatic Purple - Thinking of You Card
Check out the awesome samples the Verve Divas have made here and what lovely Julee has created here and you can see what awesome creations have been created by the Color Throwdown DT and challenge players using the Color Throwdown swatch this week over here.
