JustRite Stamps: October Release: Day 3

Hi Everyone,

As part  of JustRite's October Release they are introducing QR codes to all their new packaging and their catalogs.

CL-02190 ShabbyChicLabelsFour-qrcode_330233 (2)QR codes are popping up everywhere and you may have wondered what they were. What is a QR (Quick Response Code)? QR codes are pixelated squares that you can scan with a smart phone app. Scannning the QR code with your phone will bring you directly to a website or landing page.  The JustRite QR Codes  on the packaging and in JustRites Catalog will link a stamp set to JustRite's Design Gallery for that set.  Now you can scan the code with your phone to see what your favorite designers have created with a set before you purchase the set in your favorite store.  You can use your smartphone to access the design gallery for your stamp set from your craft room when you are ready to use your set or from our mini flyers or catalogs when you are sitting in a car waiting to pick up your child from a sporting event!!

Here is a smaller version of our Shabby Chic Labels Four QR code for you to play with if you have a smart phone!!  Very cool huh?
You may already have a QR code scanner already on your phone - if you don't you can upload any of these apps - for your iPhone - Red Laser (free),  NeoReader (free),  Optiscan ($1.99)  For your Android Phone - QR Droid.

Blog Candy Alert - Don't forget that their is Blog Candy on the JustRite Blog-a $50.00 shopping Spree.  To enter to win go to the JustRite Blog and answer the blog candy question.  The Blog Candy is open for comments until Friday Night at 12 pm EST. The winner will be announced on the JustRite Blog on Monday October 3rd during the release post.  Good luck to everyone!

Today over at the JustRite blog, we are hopping with previews of the October JustRite release and today the design team are previewing some sweet new stamps and I am excited to be able to show this one that I created using the sweet set: Grandma's Doilies which is a 3 1/4" JustRite Original stamp set that also coordinates with the large scalloped circle Spellbinder's dies - and have the coolest shapes and designs on them! I love how all the shapes fit with each other and it is so much fun to create patterns that overlap and coordinate with each other :)

I stamped three of the smaller circle with the different color inks and then cut out the centers and popped them ontop of each other. Using some bling I covered the circles around the smaller circles and then sponged the edges. I stamped the larger doily in green and cut it out and then cut out the center with my circle nesties and then layered up the card using some fall papers from my stash and then covered the edges with some ribbon and some corner buttons. I left the card sentiment-less (Gasp! ;) but sometimes I realize I need a blank card for whatever occasion might pop up and I realize that I might need to make some more any occasion card. I love how this card came out - it was so much fun to make and bling out :)

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Fall paper stash and Bazzill cardstock
Stamps: Grandma's Doilies 3 1/4" stamper from JustRite Stampers
Inks: Memento Bamboo leaves, Rich Cocoa, Tangelo, Cantaloupe and Berrylicious from Chalk Ink
Accessories: Buttons from stash, American craft ribbon, dimensionals, liquid pearls, Want2Scrap pearls

I love these fun doilies and I couldn't stop playing with these fun shapes! I can't wait to see what the sweet ladies from the Design Team have created with all of the stamp sets that are part of this awesome October release!

It's Your Birthday!

Hi Everyone!

September seems to hold the birthdays of so many dear friends of mine! I couldn't wait to create a card for my dear friend with this birthday card that I made for her birthday using the Build A Treat TE stamp that was released along with the It's Your Birthday A La Carte. I love the this sweet collection of the Blissful Aunthentique papers and had fun creating my birthday card for my buddy :)

I stamped the sentiment using and colored in the word birthday with my copics and paper pieced the balloons. I stamped the cupcake from the  Build A Treat  and colored it in and popped it up on the circle element and lined the top of the card using the pennant dies - I love the festiveness that pennants always give :)

Here is the inside of the card - I used the sentiment from the Make A Wish stamp set and a border of cupcakes made from the Build A Treat Borders stamp set and Build A Treat Borders coordinating dies.

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: It's Your Birthday A La Carte, Make A Wish Build a Treat stamp set Build a Treat Borders from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Chalk Expresso, Copics
AccessoriesBuild A Treat Borders coordinating dies, stickles, Spellbinders, ribbon from American Crafts, Pennant Dies

I love how quick, fun and happy it is to make birthday cards using all the new yumminess from Taylored Expressions - and seriously - I can't wait to make more! I wish I had all day long to craft - but there is this job thing that keeps getting in the way ;) LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Big hugs!
Sankari :)

JustRite Stamps: October Release: Day 1

Hi Everyone,

Today starts the JustRite October Release celebration and we are kicking it off with an awesome autumanl celebration with the beautiful Autumn Labels Twenty-Two stamps that coordinated perfectly with the Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Two nestabilities:

I love it when stamps coordinate perfectly with my nesties - it makes it so easy to stamp and then die cut effortlesly - no more trying to fit the sentiment into a space! I love the sweet sentiments in this stamp set - especially the beautiful frames with lovely autumnal sentiments in the frame - I thought it would be fun to create little mini centerpieces at each person's table at Thanksgiving with one of these frames as a tag around a paper pumpkin. When I walked into our local scrapbooking store and saw these cute pumpkins by the register that my friend Michelle (who is also the owner of our store) made, I knew I wanted to make one just like her! I used some strips of MME paper and attached the label with some twine to the stalk of the pumpkin:

Here is a view from the top - I created some vines and the leaves from the Tattered Leaves from Tim Holtz and then sponged the edges to give them a fall feel - I love all those gorgeous sentiments on the tag - so autumnal and perfect!

I had so much fun making this cute little pumpkin and using this gorgeous stamp set - I can't wait to check out all the amazing samples that the design team has created with this beautiful stamp set and coordinating labels from Spellbinders!

Happy Birthday Cupcake!

Hi Everyone,

There are so many birthday's in September that it is crazy - along with all the babies born this month, this  month is full of birthdays of some of my dear friends! I made this card for my friend using some of the awesomest set of birthday stamps from Taylored Expressions - the Build a Treat stamp set. I love the fun way to mix and match the tops and bottoms of the cupcakes - so much fun-ness!!! I wanted to keep this card really simple and try to do a CAS card. I embossed the background with the awesome Spooky Impression Plate from Taylored Expressions and sponged with some Rich Cocoa ink and added a line of liquid pearls around the edge:

Here is a view of the inside of the card:

Here is another view of the card from the side: I stamped the top of the cupcake and bottom of the cupcake and cut them out and popped them together with some dimensionals. I added the cupcake to the oval background and then used Labels 18 and the sweet Frame It Up 2 die from TE to layer it onto:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: MME Lime Twist
Stamps:  Build a Treat stamp set from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Bamboo Leaves, Pear Tart, Rich Cocoa from Memento and copics
Accessories:  Beaded Oval nesties, Labels 18, liquid pearls, dimensionals, Spooky Impression Plate,  Frame It Up 2 die,  ribbon from American Craft

I love everything from Taylor's awesome store - and this last release was simply amazing - so perfect for all the September birthdays this month. I wish I had a week of just sitting at my craft desk and crafting away night and day - but instead I look forward to a weekend of laundry and dishes and cleaning - sigh!
Hope your Friday is off to a great start and that your weekend is wonderful!

September Diva Dare - Day 5

Hi Everyone!

The September Diva Dare has started over at the Verve blog and this month's Diva Dare is to Case-a-Diva (CASE means to copy and share everything)  We all picked each other and each day one of us is CASing one of the other Divas - you can check out all the creations from the Verve Divas by visiting each of their individual Verve galleries!

I was so excited to CASE Ms. Andrea and try to channel her Ewen Style - holy smokes - can I just say that all I have been doing is drooling over her cards and trying to figure which one I could possibly CASE - wowza - each card is so beautiful and lovely - it was hard to pick just one! Andrea has such an amazing way of creating dimension, depth and texture and creating beauty with everything she touches! This card that I made was CASED from THIS beauty that Andrea made - and wow - what a great layout and love the colors and the ribbon in her card! I tried my best to make Andrea proud in making my card and tried to do justice to her gorgeous creation.  I used the This and That paper collection from LilyBee Designs and tried to get my Ewen Style on :) and used the sweet and inspiring sentiment that I paired together from the Tag Time stamp set.

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Tag Time from Verve Stamps
Paper: LilyBee Designs (This and That 6x6 paper pad), Bazzil cardstocks
Inks: Memento Ladybug Red and Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Martha Stewart border punch, Spellbinder's circle punch and lacy nesties, butterfly punch from Martha Stewart, Pearls from Want2Scrap, BoBunny ribbon center treatment, May Arts silk ribbon, heart pins, MME ribbon, liqud pearls and dimensionals.

I love the side curvy bracket shape that Andrea used and not having die, I tried to draw out the squiggley shape and cut it out. I added two little butterflies on either side with a little pearl in the center and had to add a scallopy edge to the tops and bottom of the card in tribute to Andrea's amazing punch collection - that girl has such a way with punches I tell ya! And I couldn't stop until I had added a couple of lines of liquid pearls around the edges of the card ;)

This was such a fun challenge and I look forward everyday to see how everyone is CASing each other! And you can play along too and Case-A-Diva and score some yummy new Verve!

Want to know how you can win some fabulous new VERVE GOODIES? Please stop by the Verve Blog and check out how you can WIN Vervey stamps and check out all the days before today's entries and stay tuned for some yummy CASing coming up!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

September Blast From the Past from Taylored Expressions

Good Morning Everyone,

It's time for another Blast from the Past blog hop from Taylored Expressions where every month, all fans and customers of everything Taylored Expressions can hop together using stamps from past releases. This month's release has a special theme: Birth/Day ! yay! I couldn't wait to make a card for the birth-days of two very special new babies who celebrated their very first day on mother earth - both born on September 13th! :) The first card is made especially for a little Ms. Madelyn VanBruggen who arrived cute as can be to our dearest Taylor and her wonderful husband Jon! yay!!!! Welcome little cupcake - you are so loved!!! Please check out this post from Taylor for cute little pics of her darling little girl!

I made this card using one of my all time favorite stamp sets: the Hangin' Out  and paired it with the sentiment from the Welcome Little One stamp set from Taylored Expressions. I love these sweet Authentique papers and tried to keep this card slightly monochromatic pretty in pink for the prettiest little baby girl!

Here is a little close-up of the paper pieced onesie - and the layered dimensionals - of course I had to add a wee circle of liquid pearls around the image panel. The sentiment panel was cut out of some yummy glitter paper (every baby needs a little glitter and bling :)

Card Ingredients:
StampsHangin' Out  for the onesie and the sentiment is from Welcome Little One from Taylored Expressions
Papers: Aunthentique Uncommon, Taylored Expressions Buttercream cardstock, Bazzil papers
Inks: RoseRed Memento and Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Baker's Twine, circle nesties, spellbinder's labels, sponger, dimensionals, heart punch, pearls from Want2Scrap

My dear friend from college had her baby boy on September 13th as well (this is my new favorite day!) and I couldn't wait to make her a card of congratulations! She has two little girls who are the same ages as our children and I can't wait for all of us to have a playdate with this new little wonderbean! I used the same Aunthentique papers but went monochromatic blue and used the sketch that was optional with this month's hop for this card.

I wanted to create a little shabby happy card for her little wee man and used the Sentiment from Bringing Home Baby the Carriage from the Welcome Little One from Taylored Expressions. I cut out a set of pennants using the Pennant Border Die and layered it diagonally across the vertical panel. I used the diagonal strips in the sketch to lay down 4 lines of pearls. The baby carriage was glazed slightly with a glaze pen and used a little blue flower to embellish the ribbon trims:

Here is the inside of the card with the sweet little sentiments from the Baby Cakes stamp set and from the Bringing Home Baby Stamp set from Taylored Expressions:

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Sentiment from Bringing Home Baby, Carriage from the Welcome Little One from Taylored Expressions
PapersAunthentique, Taylored Expressions Buttercream cardstock, Bazzil papers
Inks: RichCocao from Memento and Tuxedo Black
Accessories: silver ribbon from stash, circle nesties, pearls from Want2Scrap, heart punch, Expresso dimensionals, Pennant border die, dimensionals and Sakura Glaze pen.

Welcome darling babies!! Can't wait to meet you in person one day! And I can't wait to see what everyone has created with this month's hop theme!!! YAY!

Thanks so much for stopping in!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

JustRite stamps: Be Strong!

Hi Everyone,

There is a beautiful stamp set that JustRite has come out with, which to me is an amazing set - it is called Be Strong and is filled with sentiments and images to inspire, give hope and strength for anyone battling a chronic illness - or for someone who needs a lift. This stamp set also has different ribbon sizes and I choose to paper piece my ribbon and chose pink to support one of my friends who is overcoming breast cancer. I usually love colors - but somehow, I tried to go soft on this card - and also to go CAS (or try to go CAS - this is the hardest technique for me!). I do love how this card turned out - it feels so lovely and sweet - just like my friend.

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Be Strong from JustRite Stamps
Paper: scraps and cardstock from PTI
Inks: Memento Rich Cocoa and Rose Red ink
Accessories: Swiss dot embossing folder, Oval nesties (beaded), butterfly from MS, ribbon from stash, scallop punch from EK success, dimensionals and chunky glitter.

I stamped the frame and then cut it out with my oval nestie (love how all the stamps work with my nesties!) and then cut out the sentiment with a smaller oval and popped it up over the frame. I popped this frame up over the beaded ovals and covered them with glitter - and added some glitter to the scallops and some bling to the center of the butterflies - and embossed the bottom of the card with some sponging for texture.

There are some cards that you just love making - and this was one of those cards - the sentiments in the Be Strong stamp set are so sweet and so lovely and fit into all the gorgeous frames so perfectly - please check out the whole stamp set (here) at the JustRite stamps store!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Be Strong!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

September Get Your Diva On Challenge: Pick A Color! Any Color!

Good Morning Everyone!

I am so excited to be the hostess of this month's Verve Get Your Diva ON Challenge! And this month's challenge is to: "PICK A COLOR! ANY COLOR! and go monochormatic! It could be a one color - color scheme, or a bunch of neutrals, or a mixing of similar shades of color! This is one of my hardest challenges - I love color and I can't ever really pick just one (!!!) so it was a tough one to try to decide how to even start! But then I kept comign back to the color orange - maybe its because fall is in the air (?) but somehow orange was calling my name - so I found some MME DP and it felt so sunny and yummy (kinda reminded me of orange sherbert!) so I had to use the "sunny days" sentiment from the Sunny Days stamp set and used the coordinating dies from the Leafy Sprig dies from Verve Stamps.

Here is a little peek at the inside of the card and the dimensions to create the layers:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: My Mind's Eye papers
StampsSunny Days stamp set from Verve Stamps
Inks: Memento Potter's Clay ink
AccessoriesLeafy Sprig dies from Verve Stamps, vellum, heart punch from the Paper Studio, heart punch from Martha Stewart, flower from Prima, Glimmer Mist (Jack O'Lantern), ribbon from MME, circle Spellbinder's, EK Success scallop punch, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing folder and dimensionals.

I didn't have a coordinating flower for the card but then remembered I had some Glimmer Mist (Jack O'Lantern color) that I misted onto the flower and it created a perfect match :) I used the awesome VLV sketch from week 2 of the Sept11VLV challenge for today's sketch.

Hope you will play along with us with this challenge - there is an AWESOME prize for the winner of the Get Your Diva On! Challenge - the chance to be a Guest Diva at the next release and can WIN the all of the NEXT Verve  Release and play along with the Verve Design Team during the next release - woohoo! So get pick your favorite color or color scheme and get your Diva ON! :)

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Big hugs,S
Sankari :)

PS - Here is the Leafy Sprig die from Verve Stamps that I coordinates with the Sunny Days  stamp set and the VLV sketch and links for how you can play along with this week's sketch!

I love all of these three companies individually and it was so fun to create a card where all the components from the different companies are compatible with all of the other components. I was excited to work with the Nestaboard Labels 18 which perfectly coordinate with the Spellbinder's Labels 18 and used the Nestabling Labels 5 White Pearl  that coordinates perfectly with Spellbinder's Labels 5 and used the awesome new stamp sets from this month's September release from JustRite Stamps :)
I was amazed at how easy it was to cover the Chipboard - I die cut the exact matching size onto the DP that I was going to use and then adhered them together. Using that die, I traced the outside edge to create a mat for the layer and then sponged the inside of the DP (with the die still intact) to create an easy sponged/frame look - here is a picture to show how these 4 layers merged together to create the layer:

I was so excited to try out the Nestabling - whoo-hoo! You know I love liquid pearls and was so excited to use this product that perfectly allows for a layer of bling/pearls to line all the different awesome shaped dies and labels! I loved adding a row of all the little pearls with the Baby LaCreme Pearls and then used the large White Pearls in the corner from from Want2Scrap.

I love the collage image from the Greetings from Paris stamp set and used the birthday sentiment from the Shabby Chic Labels 4 stamp set. I was so excited to make this card for a very special girl who is off to college this school year! I hope that this card brightens up her day! If you haven't seen all the creations with these amazing products - You can find all the links for each days event this week on the following manufacture's blogs:

August Diva Dare - Day 6 - Thank U !

Hi Everyone!

Happy Labor day - hope you are all enjoying your weekend! Today over at the Verve Blog, I am your hostess bringing  Day 6  of of this month's Verve Diva Dare. Each month, there is a specific dare/challenge and everyone can participate and show their creations and have a chance to win some yummy Verve stamps - this month's challenge is Sending Some Sunshine! And one of the goals of the challenge is to actually mail it/send it to someone! I love making cards - but somehow am not the very best at actually sending it out! So, we DARE you to make an uplifting and encouraging card AND send it to someone in need of a little pick-me-up!

Initially, I had a different card in mind that I wanted to make for this challenge, but after a surprise party on my birthday this weekend, I wanted to make thank you cards filled with love and sunshine to send to all the lovely people who made this birthday simply beyond awesome! I am the worst at sending thank you cards! So I was excited to sit down at my craft desk and was amazed at how rather quickly I was able to make 12 little 3x3 thank you cards using the You and I stamp set and the awesome I Heart you die and Tagged Rectangle die  from Verve Stamps. Here is a close look at one of the thank you cards that I made:

I cut out all the cardstock and DP and adhered them all as a first step. For the next step, I die cut out the U's and punched out the hearts and then for the third step - stamped the word "Thank" with Rouge ink and then adhered it to black cardstock for a mat. I then adhered all the elements together and then for the final step I added some bling and buttons and then put the card together by clipping the cards together with an eyelet: Here is a look at them all in a row.

And here is a view of the cards from above - I used the eyelet to adhere the two cardstock pieces together so that it could open out like a card:

And it was fun to lay them all down on the table and just take a group shot of them:

And here is a view of how it looks when it is opened. I varied each card a little with the bling or with the buttons or with the DP - so they are all unique in their own way:

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Aunthentique and black cardstock from Bazzill
StampsYou and I stamp set from Verve stamps
Inks: Chalk Ink Rouge, Memento Inks: Tuxedo Black ink
A Cut Above Verve Dies: I Heart you die set and Tagged Rectangle die from Verve stamps
Accessories: eyelets from We R Memory Keepers, ribbon from American Crafts, Butterfly punch from MS, Spellbinders, sponger, heart punch and bling.

I am excited to write out my thank you cards today and have them ready to go out into the mail tomorrow! YAY! I am so grateful for my dear friends and one of my big goals is to get better about sending out cards to my dear friends and family and this was the perfect challenge to get me going in that direction!!!

I can't wait to see your creations with this challenge - and check out the different ways that you can win some yummy Verve stamps here! Woo-HOO!

Big hugs, Sankari :)
