My first Video post :), A Scrapbook page and a Project Sneak :)

Good Morning Everyone :)

I was cleaning out some stuff this weekend (bags and bags o'stuff) - it was that kind of a weekend KWIM? And I came across some pictures of me as a wee baby :) and it just made me stop in my tracks... sometimes its hard to believe how quickly time passes... I usually do scrapbook pages of my kids, but haven't really done any just of me --- so I thought - hey - I should do a little something "reflective" of some of my baby/child pictures and journal them so that I might always keep focused on my "big" dreams and "big" wishes in the midst of the daily hustle and bustle... In the middle of doing that, I remembered what my sweet friend Adela had told me awhile back - that I should do a blog post on my name - since my first name is pronounced differently than it looks - so I thought it would be fun to do that and to do a little video post (my first, yay!) as a way to say hi to everyone "in person" :))) so here is my first video post :

Sorry if I rambled there for a bit, its a little strange to talk... to the computer without feeling slightly dorkish :) so sorry for any dorkiness :)) but I am really so happy to be part of blogland and feel so lucky to have made so many wonderful friends in the process!! You guys rock!!!

In the cleaning out process that I mentioned, I found this baby picture of my mother holding me and I knew that I immediately wanted to scrapbook it - and not just scrapbook it - but see it all the time - so I created a 6x6 layout that could fit into the calendar stand that Taylor has in her Taylored Expressions store:

Here is a closer peek at the side of the calendar stand (it comes in natural color, and I painted it this color and then decorated it with some BoBunny papers.

And here is a closer look at the page of me and my mother (also known as my rock)... I used the beautiful sentiment from Helen Keller: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the Heart." from the stamp set: Discover Your Wings and the sentiment "Thankful for You" is from the stamp set: Celebrate Life:

I also paper pieced the butterfly that is in theDiscover Your Wings stamp set as an accent piece for the page. I love how this turned - more than anything because I am able to see this page on my desk, not just in a scrapbook on the shelf. Can't wait to show it to my mother when she comes to visit :)
********
And one more thing! Today I am the hostess over at the Stamp A Sweet Impression blog and was having a lot of fun with Favors! :) Here is a little sneak peek of my project there:

I would love it if you would *--->hop on over to the SASI blog <---*and tell me what you think :)

Thanks so much for visiting today!! (thanks for watching my rambling video :)
Hope you are having a wonderful day!
Big hugs :)
Sankari :)

YOU are a beautiful creature and your name is as beautiful as your smile! It was so nice to 'see' you on video, almost as nice as it was to meet you in person(once you figured out who I was lol!)

Your baby picture is wonderful - and if that is your mother - it is no surprise that you carry such grace and beauty!

I love what you've created with your photo. I have so many old pics of myself as well as my husband when we were little. His mother passed on a whole bunch, and they're all so sweet. Feeling inspired to create something with them now. Enjoyed your video. It's amazing how shy you seem although you're a stamping diva!!!

Sankari,
I agree with everyone on their comments! I was so happy watching the vid, I was smiling too! Contagious, I tell ya!!!
I was going to comment anyway after seeing the scrap page. I love what your wrote about your Mother. Such sweet little things you wrote, the million sweet little memories we have of our mothers...*sigh* It is beautiful to put them down in writing, I think. Funny how smells are a big part of our memory...
Well anyway, loved it, and the video. Now I can stop calling you san-KAR-ee in my head and say it right!! LOL!
Your work is always STUNNING, Sankari, and I am truly in awe of it and inspired. Thanks for brightening our days!

What a beautiful name for such a beautiful talented young lady. Your cards always inspire me. Thanks for the intro. I like to be able to say the names of the people whom I visit. I just knew I was botching up yours. Now I won't. I hope to see videos, but in your own time.
