I am so excited to be part of the partnership between Taylored Expressions and Faber-Castell in today's blog hop! I love all of their amazing crafty tools and was able to play with some awesome Pastel Pencils (neutrals) and some Big Stamper's Brush Pens (3 count Blue) from Faber-Castell!
Mix & Match Pastel Pencils |
Mix & Match Stamper's Big Brush (3 count set of Blue) |
For my first card I used both of the above pencils and pens to color my sentiment from the Chalkboard Elements stamp set:
I stamped the sentiment directly with the Stamper's Big Brush Pens by alternating each letter with a different color blue - I LOVE this look!
I love how easily the pencils blended in with each other. I shaded in the circle shape that I cut out of the circle nestie with the same pencils and then used the white pastel pencil to create a chalkboard effect on the black cardstock:
Here is another view of the card - I added some bling to the corners and also added some faux stitching to the circle nestie around the sentiment and flowers and finished it off by rounding the corner and adding some foam dimensionals to the sentiments and circle nesties:
Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Chalkboard Elements and flowers from Nov. 2013 stamp of the Month: In the Garden
Papers: Black, Red and Blue cardstock
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Faber-Castell: Stamper's Big Brushes 3 ctd. Blue and Faber-Castell Pastel Pencils Neutrals
Accessories: Circle nesties, white gel pen, corner chomper, white bling, and foam dimensionals
I loved playing with these wonderful crafty pens and pencils and for my second project, I only used the three blue colors from the Stamper's Big Brush Pens (3 count, Blue) for coloring in the sentiment by alternating the colors on the letters as well as coloring in the different petals on the flowers with different colors of inks. I stamped the sentiments from the Milestone Marker stamp set from Taylored Expressions. I LOVE that you can alternate the colors so quickly and easily with the awesome big brush tips on these pens:
After alternating the letters with the inks, I stamped the sentiment and was really impressed with how it stamped - such a cool look!! Each of the flowers is stamped with these pens and then afterwards, I used some of the colors of the pens to shade in some of the colors - especially on the flowers and then I added some bling to the centers of the flowers -- & then kept adding some bling here & there (it was hard not to cover the whole card with bling :)!!
I made this card for my in-laws 50th anniversary (can you believe 50 years together -wow!) and can't wait to give it to them later this summer. Here is a close up of the card:
