Holiday Diva Dare - Day 3 -Merry and Bright!

HI Everyone,

Today over at the Verve Blog, I am the hostess for this month's Diva Dare where the theme is: A Handmade Christmas! The theme is pretty broad and can be interpreted in so many different ways...from a lovingly made card, to heartfelt gifts and homemade decorations!  With the Holidays right around the corner, this will be the perfect time to get a jump start on your card and gift making!

The Dare - is to make something handmade for Christmas and post it (please check out the Verve Blog for more details!) AND you can totally score some new yummy Verve in the process!!!

I answered the dare by making a little banner to hang on our front door. I have always enjoyed making handicrafts that can be hung on our door and our kids get so excited for the next season with a new doorway banner or wreath. After Thanksgiving, I am excited to hang up this little snowy banner on our door using the Bright Spirits Stamp set. I love this sentiment: "May your Spirits be Bright" and the sweet little star shape that can be both a flower or snowflake. I created a little ornament that I saw while surfing awhile ago and then saw again made in our LSS (hi Cynthia!) and couldn't wait to add as a big rosette to the banner:

Here is the center piece of the banner - I created a double star and used the Winter Fun Die set that has this beautiful tree to create little icicle pennants for the top:

I had some glittery snowflakes from a previous project that I added to the center of the large rosette and then layered the sixpoint snowflake (large and small) from the Bright Spirits stamp set into the middle and added a little button to the center:

Here is a side view of the banner and the layers:

Project Ingredients:
Papers: Yellow Bicycle Winter Twig
Inks: Memento Danube Blue
AccessoriesWinter Fun Die Set from Verve Stamps, snowflake punch from MS, dimensionals, Spellbinders, red tacky tape, pearl embellishment from Want2Scrap, ribbon, jumbo eyelets from WeRMemory Keepers, Chipboard and liquid pearls

I loved this challenge and love making home decorations! I am so excited to hang this on the door after Thursday and surprise my little ones with a new door hanger and get ready a beautiful season of Merry and Bright Spirits!!!

Please check out the Verve Blog for details on how to play along and win some new Verve and also everyday for the next two weeks there will be a new treat from one of the DT with a project with this challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Big hugs
Sankari :)

HI Everyone!

It's release day over at Taylored Expressions, where you will find all of this month's release ready to come to your craft desk!! Today, I am so excited to use one of the sweetest holiday sets that will be so versatile with all of your sentiment needs: the Banner Holidays Stamp set which coordinates with the popular: It's a Banner Day 1,2,3" sets originally concepted by Iwona Palamontain. You can use the banner frame images from these sets and they also coordinate with the Banner Day 1, 2, 3 die sets as well. This gorgeous stamp set was designed and illustrated by Taylor VanBruggen for the TE collection and is a mini set made of 15 holiday sentiments - it might be mini - but its maximum on super awesome holiday sentiments! All of the Taylored Expressions stamp sets are made from top-quality deeply etched rubber in a cute shade of pink with EZ mount already trimmed and ready to be stamped with your acrylic  blocks.

For my project today I created a little door hanging for the holidays using the Banner Holiday's Sentiment: Merry Christmas with Darcie's Acrylic Shadowbox Frame - Addison Small from Taylored Expressions. I used the super cute owls from the Woodland Winter stamp set to create a little scene - my son wanted me to make two owls - just like him and his little sister - so I created two little owlies sitting on the branch. The Shadowbox frame was painted and slightly glitterized and I used one of the DP's from the 12 Days of Christmas Project Pantry for the background of my box. I  stamped the sentiment from the Banner Holidays Stamp set and then adhered it to the top of the frame before I put the clear vinyl frame over it:

I adhered the ribbon to one of the layers of the shadowbox frame and then created a larger bow at the top  of the door hanging hook. I love that these two little owlies (much akin to my two little owls) are going to welcome us home during the winter season! Here is how it looks hanging on our door:

The Banner Holidays stamp set has all kinds of awesome sentiments in all different shapes and swirls ready for holiday card making! I have loved this release and enjoyed playing with every single cute stamp set - and have been blown away by all of the amazing creations from the DT! And today is no different - Check out all the amazing creations that these amazing ladies have created today!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

Hi Everyone!

It's Day 3 of sneak peeks from Taylored Expressions and today  we are previewing two joyful stamp sets: Glad Tidings and Wreaths of Joy! The Wreaths of Joy stamp set continues the seasonal wreaths series concepted by Jami Sibley and illustrated by Nancy McKinney. The Glad Tidings stamp set is a mini set illustrated by Doug Applegate and is a joyful Christmas stamp set, which can also coordinate with the animals from the Easter Joy and Green Acres stamp set (perfect for creating a manger scene!).

For today's card, I used the beautiful papers from the Holiday Wonder Project Pantry kit .  I wanted to create a glow inside the manger and also outside of it - so I stamped the images and then masked it and sponged around it with some yellows, gray and blue inks (Dandelion, London Fog and Paris Dusk from Memento) and thenstamped the sweet images of Mary and Joseph again and for their clothing  colored it with copics and paper pieced it with papers from the Project Pantry.

Card Ingredients:
Stamps
:
Glad Tidings from Taylored Expressions
Paper: Holiday Wonder Project Pantry (Aunthentique Holiday Wonder (6x6 paper pad collection)
Inks: Memento Ladybug Red, Dandelion, Cantaloupe, Rich Cocoa,
Accessories: pearls from Want2Scrap, dimensionals, liquid pearls, Spellbinders labels and nesties and copics

I also paper pieced the leaves of the tree with DP and then colored the trunk with copics. I popped up the roof of the manger with dimensionals, and created the ground by tearing some DP and then sponging it. The sentiment was stamped and then die cut and I adhered it going across the card. I finished it off with just a bit (just a wee tiny bit!) of both liquid pearls and real pearls. This Glad Tidings stamp set is such a joyful set and making Christmas cards with this set makes the heart smile! I can't wait to see what the rest of the team has created with the two gorgeous stamp sets that we are previewing today!!! Come on with me and check them out!

 Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the first day of the sneak peeks from Taylored Expressions - yay! Today we are all featuring the beautiful new stamp set: Joy to the World (illustrated by the amazing and sweet Nancy McKinney!) which is the newest stamp set that is part of the Taylored Expressions Giving Tree program. Each quarter, Taylor chooses a charity that she donates a portion of the proceeds from the sales of a particular stamp set - and this quarter she has chosen the Angel Tree as the charity to support because it's something she has been involved with for many years through churches she has attended.  Angel Tree is a program administered by Prison Fellowship whose Mission is to seek the transformation of prisoners and their reconciliation to God, family and community through the power of Jesus Christ.  Angel Tree invites churches to provide Christmas gifts to the children of inmates across the country.  Their website says :

"It starts with a gift.  But it's so much more.

Giving+Tree+Logo.jpgEvery child has a story. For 1.7 million American children, that story is filled with the abandonment, loneliness, and shame that comes from having a mom or dad in prison. At Angel Tree, we find ways to reach out to these children, by sharing Christ's love with them at Christmas and by developing year-round relationships. In the end, it's so much more than giving Christmas gifts-it's about restoring families."

We'd love to have you learn more about this wonderful charity and even possibly how you might get involved.  So we have a special prize drawing planned! .  If you'd like to be entered to win our Angel Bundle Prize Pack (Joy to the World Full Sized Stamp Set, Angel Kisses Taylored Card Kit, and the Musical Swirls Taylored Impression Plate) simply click over to the Angel Tree website and find the answer to this question: "Name the founder of Angel Tree." (You'll want to read the touching story of how Angel Tree got started while you're there!)  E-mail Taylored Expressions with the answer in the subject line of your e-mail by Wednesday at 6pm PST.  The winner will be announced on Taylor's blog at approximately 10 pm PST Wednesday night.

Angel Kisses Card KitFor the projects today, we used all the Angel Kisses Taylored Card Kit that will be available for purchase along with all the stamp sets and impressions plates and dies this Thursday at 8am PST. This card kit is full of awesome card ingredients (cardstock, designer paper, ribbon, peals) to make a bunch of mass produceable Christmas cards! Also there will be a downloadable inspiration sheet that will include 10 easy to recreate samples by the Baker's Dozen! Gotta love inspiration sheets!

I had so much fun with these beautiful colors and designer paper - and love that everything is already coordinated ready for craftin'!

The Joy to the World stamp set has beautiful angels - and sweet sentiments. I created 4 circle cards with these sweet Angels and used the sentiment: "May peace be your gift at Christmas" for all four cards. Here is a picture of all 4 from this card kit and using the Joy to the World stamp set:

Here is a picture one of the Angels - she is so sweet with her hands folded. Each card was cut out with beaded circles nesties and then I added the Angels finishing it with some copics, liquid pearls and some green and maroon pearls from the Angels Kisses Taylored Card Kit:
And here is a picture of the second Angel that I used and I added a little bag of overflowing hearts by stamping the bag, coloring it and adding a dimensional:
I love that everything is from the card kit (well, except for the liquid pearls and glitter) and it made everything so simple, fast and easy to assemble! I can't wait to see all the gorgeous creations that everyone has created using this wonderful stamp set Joy to the World with the Angel Kisses Taylored Card Kit:

  • Thank you so much for stopping by today! Please come stop by tomorrow for more sneak peeks and fun!
    Big hugs,

JustRite Stamps: Christmas Blog Hop Wednesdays 1

    Hi Everyone,

Every Wednesday - for the next 12 weeks, JustRite Stamps is going have a Christmas blog hop that features the creations from over 80 designers using the gorgeous and incredible versatile Christmas stamp sets from JustRite stamps. Today, the JustRite Design Team is going to kick off the 12 weeks with lots of yummy Christmas creations to get your holiday making mojo into full gear!

To kick of the 12 weeks of Christmas Blog Hop Wednesdays, JustRite Stamps is offering a free shipping coupon code for September 8-10. Please enter this code into the promotional code box at checkout: CBHOP1. The offer will expire at midnight PST September 10th and is only good for orders shipped within the United States and its US territories.

I couldn't wait to use the Whimsical Wishes stamp set 2" from JustRite Stamps and totally loved the two sweet snowflakes in this set. I wanted to feature the snowflakes as little ornaments and so created a little ruffled ribbon action to hold the ornaments. You know I have a little crush on Cosmo Cricket papers :) and so I mixed up the Christmas colors a little and went the purple and green route instead of traditional colors using the awesome new Mitten Weather papers:

    Card Ingredients:
Paper: Prism cardstock and Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather
Stamps: JustRite Stamps: Whimsical Wishes stamp sets 2"
    Ink: Memento Ink: Bamboo leaves
Accessories: Adirondacks liquid pearls, tacky red tape, ribbon from stash, Spellbinders circle nesties and scalloped circle, dimensionals, glue dots, bling from Want2Scrap

I love how the JustRite stamps fit perfectly into all the Nestabilities from Spellbinders - it makes it so easy to cut out the stamp set and create layers :) I had a lot of fun creating this card and adding a little glaze to the snowflakes and bit of bling too :) - Hop on over with me and check out all the amazing creations that the Design Team has come up with!!

    Sankari Wegman <-----you are here!

I can't wait to see all the eye-candy that these amazing ladies have created!
