World Card Making Day with Taylored Expressions

Hi Everyone!

Happy World Card Making Day! All of the new Taylored Expressions products from the October release are SO cute and are in the TE store – and even though release week is over, the crafty fun keeps going! In honor of World Card Making Day – We created some fun TE card, and for me – I HAD to use the super cute Peppermint Place stamp set with the Merry and Bright Project Pantry - love these bright and colorful papers! This stamp set is such a must have for everything winter wonderland because it features THE cutest gingerbread house – makes me want to make some hot chocolate and eat some gingerbread!!!

I wanted to keep the layout really simple and so I didn’t have a sentiment on the outside – only on the inside. I colored in the gingerbread house with some copics and then colored in the outside with some bright and fun copics. I stamped some pennants from the Christmas Countdown stamp set and paper pieced them with some cute DP and then added it to the side of the image.
 Card Ingredients;
Stamps: Peppermint Place and Christmas Countdown stamp set (for the pennants on the side) from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black and Bahama blue
Papers: All cardstock, ribbon and designer paper are from the Merry & Bright Project Pantry
Accessories: corner chomper, tacky tape, dimensionals, pearls, Make a Snowflake die, embossing folder, liquid pearls, copics

The Merry and Bright Project Pantry kit is such a great one to have for your holiday cards - AND in honor of World Card Making Day -  today there is a SPECIAL where you can receive 15% off on card kits and project pantry kits . Just go to the Current Specials Page at the TE store and ender this coupon code! Such a great way to celebrate World Card Making Day!
the inside I added this super sweet sentiment – and then added some candy canes on the bottom – sigh!! Such a cute little house – glad that I don’t live in a gingerbread house though because I could never leave – I would just be sitting there the whole day eating gingerbread walls! HA! They would have to roll me out of the house by breaking down the door lol!

Well, I can’t wait to see what all the lovely creations are from all of these amazing designers - please hop along with me and check them out!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Big hugs,
Sankari

Happy Holiday Monday :)

Good Monday Morning Everyone!

Its Monday and that means its holiday time! I am so happy to be part of the Christmas Stampin All Year Long blog, where every week we create a card on Monday - each Monday there is a different challenge for your card (so you can always keep it fresh - I don't know about you but it is SO hard for me to make 50 xmas cards that are all the same). This week, Debbie from The Paper Garden challenged us to use this awesome sketch where the bottom portion of the sketch is patterned DP and the top portion is embossed.

I was cleaning up a few days ago for our guests this weekend and found (or re-found, I should say :)  this Martha paper from last year hidden at the bottom of this pile that was behind another pile :) and was psyched to be able to use it - I LOVE this gum drop paper and thought it would go perfectly with this sweet gingerbread house from Taylored Expressions.

The top really is embossed (in dotted snowflakes)
but you can't see it come through because of the light on the picture).

I had so much fun making this card! Its officially August folks - so if you would like to get crafting on some holiday cards - check out the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long blog and play along - and check out the wonderful holiday merriment that was created by all the wonderful women on the DT for this week's sketch!

Please come back later this morning where I am SO psyched to be able to show you something "berry" special (wink!)

Hope you had a fantastic weekend!
Thanks for visiting!
hugs!
Sankari :)

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge # 41 - Gingerbread Holidays :)

Good Monday Morning,

I love doing Taylor's Friday Cupcake Challenge - but can never quite get to it until Sunday evenings after the insanity of the weekend quietens down. Her sketch this week was a fun one and I couldn't wait to ink up more of Taylor's SASI (Stamp a Sweet Impression) stamps (if you haven't checked them out yet, you can view them here). I have been so excited to use her gingerbread image and so I had to pull it out for this sketch.

The brown cardstock and papers are from her Christmas kit. The gingerbread was colored with Prisma color pencils in shades of dark to light brown to yellow tones. The roof of the house was decorated with brads, there is also a golden brad as the door knob. The icing on the house, windows, etc. is liquid pearls. I used waterfall stickles, crystal stickles and orange stickles to color the gum drops in front of the house.

I cut the house and then popped it on dimensionals. The scalloped edge is created from corner rounders and then the sentiment Happy Holidays was embossed with white embossing powder. The ribbon is from the christmas kit and was attached by punching a hole in the scalloped edge and then tying it through. I touched some copper ink to the edges and added some snow with crystal stickles. The peppermint has a paper glaze on it which is a bit hard to see in the pic but quite shiny in real life :)

This was such a fun card to decorate and such a fun card to make. Makes me want to eat some gingerbread cookies with some chai.... yum!

Hope you are all doing well on this monday! Don't forget to check out what is playing this week on our blog challenge: Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge!!! Every Saturday we pick a movie from which to draw inspiration in creating our craft projects - it is such a fun way to watch movies and make cards, etc. :) and also check out the fun sketch challenge over at Paper Craft Planet!

Thank you so much for coming over for a visit!
Ciao for now!!
