Taylor's Cupcake Challenge #52 - Happy {heart} day

Happy Tuesday Everyone,

Taylor is celebrating a year of Cupcake Challenges this week at her blog Taylored Expressions. This is her sketch for this week's sketch challenge - and if you have cupcakes stamps - why not use them for this cupcake challenge. For her celebration, she had her design team come up with sketches too and asked all the featured cupcake samplers from this year to participate in those sketches. You can check out all the details on Taylor's blog.

This week's sketch (TECC52) has an oval element in the sketch - which I realize that I don't use enough in my cards. so it was really run to use an oval for this sketch :) I am in love with this Basic Grey DP and so just used that for this card. The stamps are from Taylor's Love is Sweet set and the ribbon and buttons are all from my stash -- yay! I am trying to whittle this stash down :)
I love these two cupcakes smooching and this stamp set always tickles me and gives me the giggles :)

I hope all of you are doing well. Things here have gone from busy to insane! We are getting ready to head for warmer weather and so all the preparation has sucked up any craft time :( but I can't wait to soon!

Hope you are all doing well!
Wishing you a wonderful Tuesday filled with happiness and cupcakes!
Ciao for now,
Sankari :)

KW Color Inspriation #37 - Cupcake Love :)

Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you all are doing well! Things in our household are good - the common cold has our wee ones a bit congested, so I have been up and down trying to help them sleep. The thing is that when they finally go to sleep - then I am up! So what else to do but to make a card (at least, that's my logic :)
I was up and saw that Kristina Werner had her color challenge up (Color Inspiration #37) - yay! I missed playing last week and couldn't wait to play when I saw these yummy colors (how can it not be yummy with names like: Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie :). I loved the shot of the pencils together as our color inspiration - and I had to - I mean had to use this stamp that I just got from the Love is Sweet stamp set collection - of a cupcake holding a pencil and the inspiration colors came from pencils - that was just too cool :)! Originally, this cute little cuppie was drawing a heart - but I masked that and instead stamped the sentiment: "Be Mine" upside down (I was going to stamp it right side up - but unless the cuppie had mad skillz in upside down writing, it made more sense to have him write it upside down :)

I stamped the image on the different color cardstock from the colors of the inspiration challenge and then paper pieced it all together. There's a touch of Crystal stickles on the top of the cuppie, but I don't think the photo captures it. I cut out a heart shape and then paper pierced around it twice giving interlocking hearts. I also paper pierced the chocolate brown paper. The scalloped edging was done with a circle punch, and the bottom edges of the card were corner rounded.

Can ya'll believe its Thursday -- seriously - where did this week go? Hope you are all having a fabulous day!

Thanks for coming over for a visit!
Ciao for now,
Sankari :)
