2 Sketches 4 You - Laura's sketch #38 - Friends 4 Ever

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Happy Monday!! Phew! Its been a wee bit since I blogged! I was over at the East Coast to attend the wedding of an old and dear friend of mine and visit my family! I took some craft stuff to do while there - but never had a chance. My mother is the type of person who organizes and structures everything - so as soon as I came home - she already had a packed calendar of all the things that we were going to and see and have fun doing :) I totally enjoyed being at home and having a bit of a vacation
from blogging - but it is nice to be back and get some mojo flowing :)

What better way to start of the week then a YUMM-a-licious sketch from the fabulous Laura from 2 Sketches 4 You!!! I adored this sketch and for my card - I actually turned the sketch 90 degrees counterclockwise to create this friendship card - which is being sent to one of my friends back east who I have known since highschool and had a chance to meet up with while we were there. I wanted to make something special for them - so here is a forever friendship card to one of my forever friends and her 5 amazing children (that's why I had to put 5 cute owlies :).

This week the sponsor over at 2 Sketches 4 You is the awesome Sakura of America who really have to coolest pens ever!!! I colored me owlies with the metallic, glaze and sparkly pens and it made all the Owls just pop out more. I also used the pens for some faux stitching across the top of the different layers. I love how easily these pens glide - nice and smooooth :)

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Cosmo Cricket (Kitchen Spice) and Prism cardstock and the owls are from American Crafts paper
Ink: Potter's Clay Memento Ink
Accessories: Sakrua Gel pens: Metallic, Glaze pens, Sparkle pens, Marvy Heart punch, buttons from stash, bling, dimensionals, corner rounder, Cuttlebug Swiss dots embossing folder, cosmic wave stencil, chalk

I had a lot of fun making this card and love playing around with this lovely sketch!!! And you have to check out all the lovely cards for this sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You because..... drim roll....... there are 4 NEW DESIGNERS joining Cheryl and myself for the 2 Sketches 4 You Winter Design Team so hope on over to the 2S4U blog and check out our 4 awesome new designers and the awesome sketch and play along with us!

Thanks for visiting me this monday!!! hope you have a lovely Monday!!

Some SWEEEEET News!

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Guess What!?! I am so excited to share some awesome news that just became official!! I am so honored to be part of something sweet! The Sweet Shoppe Design Team as one of their Hybrid Babes! The Sweet Shoppe Designs store has a TON (and I mean a TON!!!) of Digital Papers, Templates and everything that you need for all your digi scrapbooking needs - they also have a hybrid team to where we combine the digi papers into a traditional card/scrapbook making!!! And I am SO excited to be part of this - along with two other brand new Hybrid Babes: the very talented Heather Nichols and Anthonette Chavez!!!

The wonderful Robin Carlton who is the owner of the Sweet Shoppe Designs store just sent out a newsletter announcing this and check out the sweet little welcome she included for us!!! I am so excited to be working with Digi Media and translating that to more traditional paper making projects and cards!

To show you how AMAZING the world of digi papers is - I made a super quick card using one of their kits by designer Fee Jardine called Fallin 4 You. This picture below is the complete set that you will get to download:

I mean there is a TON of elements and papers and embellishments and letters - there is just so much in one kit - that it is mind boggling to think of all the projects that one could create!!! I totally fell in love with the cute sweet owls so I made a card using the Digi papers that I printed out and used like any other paper and also the cute owl images and came up with this card:

Details:
Ink: Rose Red from SU!
Stamps: from Making Memories
Accessories: ribbon and button from stash, corner rounder, liquid glaze, liquid pearls, dimensionals,

All the papers are digital papers that I printed out (except for the brown cardstock) and then scored, cut and sponged like any other paper. Aren't those owlies just darling!!! I applied a little liquid glaze on them so they would pop out a little bit :)

So here are some digital questions that I had and my own answers to my questions:
  • 1. Does it take a lot of ink to print out the papers: Nope - I thought it would but it printed very easily, cleanly (I printed on a matte cardstock)
  • 2. Don't I need a really good printer to print out digital things: Nope! I definitely have a very sorry printer and the fact that I could print stuff from my printer amazes me! If my printer could print out these yummy pages - I guarentee that yours will too!
  • 3. Why Digital? Well, one thing for a very small fee - you can download a TON of papers, embellies etc. that you can use again and again and again AND resize to YOUR paper crafting project! And it doesn't take up space on your craft desk! And these papers are AMAZING at the Sweet Shoppe! SO impressive!!! I want them all! :)
  • THe other thing is that I love printing out these super cute images/papers and making a card out of them. I love getting dirty in my inks and embellies and now I feel like there is an endless supply of papers that I can use again and again right at my finger tips! LOVE that!

I am sure there are other questions that I had that I can't remember them - and if you have any I will try my best to answer them or find someone who might know! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!
Big hugs and happy heart smiles!

Sankari :)
