Blue Skies are Coming You Way

Good Morning Everyone,

Can't believe how fast this week is flying! The heat of July here is making us all a bit woozy and the humidity is hard to breathe
through.... phew! talk about the dog days of summer! Last evening after the kiddies were tucked into bed, I had a chance to sneak to my little corner and couldn't wait to play along with gorgeous Mojo Monday sketch #147 for this week designed by the amazing Julee Tilman and also used the colors that were thrown down by the wonderful ladies over at the Color Throwdown.

They just celebrated their 100th color challenge and have for their 101st challenge have thrown down the colors: black, kiwi kiss, baja breeze and kraft. I think I am kinda kraft challenged....I wish I could do kraft magic but always feel blocked... so I was up for the challenge. I used one of the sweetest and loveliest stamps sets called "Blue Skies" from Verve stamps. I love all of the inspiring and gorgeous sentiments that Julee has put together in this lovely font. I stamped the small butterfly three times and then punched it out and copic-fied it and then stamped the bigger butterfly at an angle twice and colored and cut it out, and put it on dimensionals for a little bit of pop.
Card Ingredients:
Paper: all from my scrap stash! woo-hoo for using up the scrap stash!!!
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: sakura silver metallic pen, diamond stickles, square punch from CM, Cuttlebug embossed plate, small scalloped punch from MS, bling from Want2scrap, circle punches from SU and glue dots.

The kraft cardstock was embossed and then sponged on the edges. I tried to stay away from the liquid pearls - but couldn't help myself :) and added a line of liquid pearls at the bottom. The scalloped edging on the bottom are punched out mini scallop circles and are adorned with some blue bling. Here is another picture of the side of the card - its hard to see all the glitter on it - but the butterflies are covered in diamond stickles :)

This was such a fun color challenge and I loved working with this sketch and these gorgeous stamps. The sentiment "Blue Skies are coming your way" is such a lovely and happy sentiment :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Wishing you blue skies and a beautiful day!
Hugs,
Sankari :)

Magnificent work as always! I don't comment as often as I check in, but I have to say, I am so inspired by your work and your use of dimension, rhinestones, and bold colors. I did a little project here:

that was totally inspired by you! I'm trying to branch out a bit and mix my colors. It was pretty fun =) Keep up the beautiful work!
