JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop #6

HI Everyone!

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #6!   Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps!  This week, it’s most of the Copic design team and Certification instructors!  So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

For today's card, I used the sweet stamp Christmas Nested Frames from JustRite stamps with the Clear Horizontal stamper seen to the left. I love how the frames fit in within each other and for this card, I cut the smaller frame out and popped it above the larger frame.

The smaller holly leaves were colored with copics and then I dotted it with some Adirondack Dimensional liquid pearls (red). I layered the sentiments and added some edging with the EK success border punch which I filled in with some green and red bling. I LOVE this red ribbon from May Arts and added a little heart over the ribbon with a little bit of bling. This was a fun card to make and I love this sweet sentiment: " Hearts come home for the Holidays" :

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #98 - Dead Poet's Society

HI Everyone!

Every Saturday over at the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge blog we pick a different movie to create a card from - I LOVE doing these movie challenges - because aside from loving watching movies while crafting, I love getting an idea from a movie and then trying to figure out how to create it :)  For our 98th challenge, where this week we are featuring the 1990 Oscar winning movie: Dead Poet's Society. This movie is set at a conservative Prep School, where the lives of the senior boys are changed during the course learning from their English teacher who inspires them to see the world with a new perspective, to think outside of the box and to become inspired by words, ideas and the essence of the human spirit. This is an inspiring story, heartwarming and we thought for the challenge requirement this week that it would be fun to use "felt" in your creations - as it reminded us of the prep school fall uniforms and also that all poetry should be felt with the heart :) 

I loved watching this movie in college and being inspired by the way Professor Keating taught his students and inspired them to "Seize the Day". The phrase "Carpe Diem" was something that he taught them on the very first day - that for every moment of this precious life, we should seize the moment and make our dreams a reality! So for my card, I wanted to create a card with the sentiment Carpe Diem as the main focal point.

I used the Myriad Pro 50 pt. stamp set from JustRite stampers to spellout the word Carpe Diem and then stamped it onto the DP with Rich Cocoa brown ink from Memento. All of the JustRite font sets are awesome - they make it a cinch to create your favorite sentiment and then stamp it over your DP easily. I mounted the letters onto the clear horizontal Acrylic block in a line for the long sentiment and in two lines for the grade card. I love these papers from Crate Paper - and had so much fun cutting out the little different colored report cards. I stamped the same sentiment a few times on some of the grade cards in a softer ink (Desert Sand) and then arranged them in a fan shape. I wanted to colors to be more masculine since the movie was about a boy's prep school.

Stamps: JustRite Myriad Pro 50 font stamp set

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa and Desert Sand ink

Accessories: ribbon from stash, Tim Holtz paper clip, Adirondack liquid pearls, MFT scalloped die and felt, EK success scalloped punch, corner chomper and dimensionals.

JustRite Stamps : Rebirth of Spring

Hi Everyone,

This week has passed me by so quick that I feel like I blinked and September has passed me by! Crazy! The weather is turning fall and  the air is crisp, the mornings cool and the evenings are starting to come earlier - I love the fall season, but it also makes me realize how fast time passes by - why is it that time feels faster now then when it did when I was 15?

I love that hidden within the fall color leaves, lies the promise of next spring and this sentiment: "The Rebirth of Spring"  from the Nature's Nested Sentiments & Verse from JustRite Stamps: was calling my name today. All of the sentiments from this set of nested sentiments easily fit into all the JustRite frames easily that you can find HERE! I paired this sentiment with the gorgeous Beautiful Blossoms: Borders and Centers and decided to go with a  more muted color palate :

I  love those mornings that are filled with quiet and where stamping and creating is such good therapy for a busy week :) - and I love it when making a card is not only fun but quick and easy too!

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #70 - Dear Frankie

Good Morning Everyone!! Every Saturday over at the Cinema Saturday blog (ps - I can't believe this is our 70th challenge already!) Brooke and I pick a movie from which to create a card! This week the movie that we picked is the little known gem: Dear Frankie! As much as we love the big blockbusters, we also love featuring movies that might not be that famous but are just amazing! If you haven't seen this movie - you MUST! It is just a gem of a movie! Seriously - this is one of the most heartwarming movies that we have both seen - you will fall in love with it! The challenge requirement for this movie is to use a little bit of a map is because that is how Frankie (the little boy) keeps track of his father's voyages. I can't express enough - how beautiful of a movie this is --- it is full of love stories (the love between a mother for her daughter, the fierce love of a mother for her child, the love that grows between two strangers and the love of a "father" for his son) - its just beautiful and I know you will love it!

For my card today, I used the sketch that the beautiful Susanna Boyd has created for Paper Craft Planet (keyword SK031310) andd used the lovely color challenge (with the requirement for cloth) from the uber fab Embellish magazine. I loved how these colors came together and I love how Frankie kept a map and tried to find his dad in everything through all of his journeys in the letters that he received. It was so sweet to see the way he tracked him and from that I came with the inspiration for this card of a trail of hearts over the Scottish seas (errr.... Lochs).

I used the Wood Stamper that is 2-3/8" which comes with a Bonus 25pt Font & Center to create the sentiment "I'd Follow You Anywhere" and I think that is one of the main reasons that I fell in love with the Just Rite stamp system is because I could create my own sentiments - gotta love that flexibility!... Frankie gets very attached to his "father" and it is just the sweetest thing to see the connection between those two! (Gerard Butler is in this movie (before he became super famous) and I adore the interaction between him and Frankie - so sweet! I remembered loving it the first time I saw it but honestly, after having children - it pulls at my heart strings even more - and I totally relate to how fiercely Lizzie protects her son Frankie and only wants the best for him. Seriously, even more in love with it :)

Card Ingredients:

Paper: Prism cardstock in the colors: Intense Kiwi and Island Mist Dark and paper is from a map of Sweden that I printed out :)

Stamps: Just Rite Wood Stamper that is 2-3/8" which comes with a Bonus 25pt Font & Center

Inks: Memento Aquamarine and Chalkbox Yellow Ochre

Accessories: white gel pen, heart punch, buttons from Whirligig, MS heart punch, dimensionals, scorpal, spellbinders, kraft, ribbon from stash, felt accent.

The bond that Frankie has with his "dad" and the way he observes things and puts things together is beyond sweet... he would follow him anywhere. The challenge from Embellish called for cloth - my "cloth requirement" is the felt accent over the ribbon. I absoulutely loved this movie and highly recommend it! I have been waiting to share the exciting news that I am joining the

JustRite Stampers Design Team today

(YAY!!! doing the happy dance right now :)

I am so beyond excited to be on this team with some amazing fellow designers and I am loving playing with all of the newly released gorgeous JustRite stamps which are so much fun, fabulous and fantastic! of these beautiful stamps! For my "debut" as it were, I thought it would fun to create a little 3D project using the beautiful oval stamp set: Breath of Spring (oval 2 1/4" x 3 1/16") - which is filled with gorgeous blooms and beautiful oval borders that you can vary amongst the blooms:

When you open the handbag - the papers inside fold out/pop open to reveal the sentiment: "Thank you for being my Sunshine Everyday" which is from the JustRite stamp set: Romantic Sentiments 1 5/8" round and the beautiful blooms on the bottom of the inside panel, is another flower stamp from the Breath of Spring Stamp set (the flowers are actually in a watering can, but I masked it so that only the top part would be seen).

Card Ingredients:

Paper: Deep blush Prism cardstock and CC paper.

Stamps: Breath of Spring and Romantic Expressions

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Lady bug red

Accessories: circle punch, MS butterfly punch, sponger, bling from Want2Scrap, white gel pen, eyelets and ribbon from stash and velcro stickies for the front of the bag opening.

Handbag template: created using the Ultimate Crafter Companion (handbag measures 7.5 x 10" and then inside insert is a 7.5" square (when fully extended).

I had so much fun creating this project and can't wait to make some more projects "just rite" ;) Today starts an awesome March Madness Sale over at JustRite Stamps: where you save 20% off all of the 1/58" Products!! 2 Sketches 4 You - #37 - The Sweetest Season

Good Morning Everyone,

Today brings another awesome sketch from the lovely ladies at 2 Sketches 4 you - which this week is being sponsored by Just Rite Stamps. This is sketch #37 from Kazan and I can't even tell you how much I love this sketch! The first time I saw it - I was like "Wow"! what a cool sketch - and then I was like.... hmmmmm.... what am I going to do??? ack! I actually made a different card with a different circle element - but I didn't end up liking it - so I kept that aside for later. I created this mini snow globe-y card instead. I used the Just Rite Stamps: Old Fashioned Christmas Borders and Centers for the sweet image of the snowmen feeding the birds and the sentiment is from the Something Sweet Borders and Centers. The snowglobe is a clear favor circle/bubble fromTaylored Expressions and I stamped the snowmen, colored them with copics and then cut them out and placed them and adhered them to the inside circle of the favor circle. Then I adhered the papers to the card and cut out a circle for the favor to pop out of . Then I put the top of the circle on and adhered it with some tombow and then covered it with the papers with the circle part that was cut out, easily slipping over the clear globe.

The sentiment was stamped and then cut out with spellbinders and then after card was "done", I pleated the ribbon around the snowglobe (using the sticky tape and some tombow). and then of course - I had to add some liquid pearls :) lol! I am seriously loving these My Mind's Eye papers - they are so fun and bright and merry!!!

I had SO much fun making this card and I loved playing with my Just Rite stamps with Kazan's awesome sketch. I hope you have a chance to join us this week - there are some yummy goodies involved!!! Just Rite Blog Hop - Some things for a Coffee Lover :)

Good Morning Everyone (again!!)

Are you ready for some hopping?

Blog Hopping that is? Well, I am so excited to be part of a Just Rite stamps blog hop that Taylor VanBruggen has organized! You probably know the wonderful Stamp a Sweet Impression line, the Whimsical Wishes line and the Lasting Impression stamp line that Taylor has in her store - but she also has a ton of Just Rite stamps too!

I have been totally fascinated by the Just Rite system after seeing some of Taylor's wonderful projects and totally loved that you can create your own stamps with this system - from Monograms, to Wedding/Baby announcements to taylored ;) gift ideas! And speaking of gift ideas - here are two projects that I made with this fun stamp system!

I made two projects with the Caffeine Centers and Borders stamps of Just Rite from the Taylored Expressions store - one for my friend and the other for my MIL:

1. An under $5 Hostess gift :) (gotta love those!)
I love going over to a certain friend's house (you know who you are!) for fun game nights - and she happens to be a coffee lover :) so I thought it would be fun for Friday nite game nights- to bring a little thank you present over - a four pack of Frappucino's :) But just giving the present as is doesn't look very pretty. This is really a quick little makeover that I gave this Starbucks 4 pack - to make it look like a little more nice looking gift:


I covered the cardboard with some orange and then used a threading punch to cover the corners. I love this sentiment and ran it through my spellbinders - and popped it up in the center. I LOVE this sentiment: Caffeine and Friends - the Perfect Blend:

It didn't look finished without a little bottle top make over too! So, I also punched out some circles to put on the bottle caps - the sentiment reads: Make it a Grande!" - and to finish it - I ran some ribbon around it and tied a little bow for a finishing touch :)

I really love how this turned out - and love that i can give a nice looking gift without having to spend a lot of moola :)
Project Details: Paper: from the March KI and green from K and Company Ink: Chocolate Chip from SU! Stamps: JUst Rite Caffeine Centers and Borders Accessoresi: Ribbon stash, sponger threading punch from fiskars, spellbinders, circle punches from SU and CM.


2. The second project is a little coffee basket goodies for my MIL!

My Mother -in -law (MIL) loves a cuppa in the morning! And I wanted to give her a little fun sampler pack to use in her daily morning coffee routine so that she can decide which ones she likes the best - also added in a little coffee grinder, a scoop (on the ribbon for some accent) and also a sample of some chocolate covered treats. WHo doesn't like a little treat with their morning java?
I used the Times Roman font that the Just Rite system has (to see more font options - check out this link here) and spelled out the different kinds of coffee - this is just a little sampler pack - so its just enough for a cup of java and to figure out which one she likes to have more of :) .


and also to stamp a little tag for her with the sentiment: for Trudy attached to a little scoop - I LOVE this little scoop - I love making this personalized!

I used Taylor's latest sketch from her Friday Cupcake sketch challenge to make a coordinating card for my MIL. I flipped the sketch 90 degrees counter clockwise and I know all the circles are of even size - but I made my center one a little teeny bit bigger to fit with the stamps I wanted to use (tweaks are allowed right? :)

 I used the image from the Downtown Diva set that has a little cafe on it created a little scene :) I love this little cafe scene and used colors that I know that my MIL will like :)

Its so much fun to make gifts for the ones you love - especially when it is personalized :)

Stamps: From both the Downtown Diva stamp set and the Just Rite stamps Caffeine Centers and Borders.
Accessories: Corner rounder, sponger, tag punch from CM, prisma color pencils, ribbon from stash, SU! Scallop punch, basket from Target

I really LOVED making these projects and have a ton of ideas floating around in my head for more things to do with these fun stamps!!
