Verve Project Parade - Fun With Flowers

Good Morning Everyone!

Have you been checking out all the beautiful creations on the Verve blog with the Project Parade that the Divas have been creating? They are simply beautiful! The theme for this month's project parade is "Fun With Flowers". This is such a fun theme because Julee really designs the coolest most unique flower imgaes that are elegant and beautiful!

I especially love the flowers in the "Feel the Sun" stamp set and I used that set to create today's project. I made this little gift set to give to one of my blogging friends who loves flowers and I wanted to share with her some of these flowers that are felt on wood that one of my friends gave me - so I thought I would create a little card for her to let her know how special she is and also create a little container to house these wooden flower accents.
Here is a close up of the card that I made: I stamped two of the big flower images and copic-fied them and then colored three of the smaller flowers and cut them out, curled them and popped them up with some dimensionls. I love this sentiment!

Here is a close up of the container both closed and opened: I created the same popped up flower accent and decorated with some liquid pearls and some ribbon).

And here is the container opened:

Project Details:
Stamps: "Feel the Sun" stamp set from Verve
Paper: Prism cardstock and handmade black paper
Ink: Tuxedo Black from Memento
Accessories: Pearls from Kaiser, liquid pearls (Adirondack "Lettuce"), ribbon from stash, Spellbinders, MS lace punch, dimensionals, copics, corner chomper and container re-purposed for this project.

I loved making this because it was made for a special friend and I loved coloring in these beautiful flowers :)

Please check out the Verve Blog for a chance to win some Verve yumminess and get your Verve ON!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
big hugs,
Sankari :)

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #66 -Clueless

Good Morning Everyone and welcome to the 66th Cinema Saturday Creative challenge!! Every week over at the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge blog, we pick a different movie from which we base as our inspiration for creating our cards. Well, this week we picked the movie: Clueless (1995). This movie is loosely based on Jane Austen's novel Emma, set in modern time (you can read more about the comparisons on this site ). Our challenge requirement for this movie was to use a touch of plaid (there are so many plaid outfits in this movie!).

I think one of my most favorite memories from watching this movie was remembering how popular it was to use the phrase "whatever", or "as if.." which kinda came out of this movie :)
I always thought that Alicia Sliverstone was just perfect for the role of Cher (which is really the role of Emma from Jane Austen). She has such a sweet heart and I just adored the way that her heart opened and she was able to see the bigger picture. I loved watching this movie again and seeing all of the fashions of '95 and just loved all of Cher's purses and accessories. So my inspiration was to create a gift set for my niece's birthday with a few essential fashion items (some make up, chocolate and lotions :) using the Carolina's awesome purse box template. I used Taylor's beautiful sketch for her 100th sketch celebration (can you believe that?! a 100!! wow!). I used the sketch on the "purse":

And here is the coordinating card: The sentiment and purses are from the Downtown Diva set, the label stamp set is from the Luxurious Labels stamp set - all from Taylored Expressions:

Here is the purse giftset: The sentiment is from the Sweet Indulgence stamp set. It fits a nugget box perfectly and I also added a little make up kit for my niece for her birthday :)
**** Notice that I didn't take a picture of the nugget box with some sweet treats in it - that would be because I ate it while making this project (hanging head down in shame! will have to get more to replenish her little bday present :)

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Bo Bunny and Bazzil
Inks: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: spellbinders, bling, dimensionals, punches, eyelets, ribbon and ek success punch

I had so much fun creating this fun little purse for my niece (who isn't into the "girly" colors, so I had to create something that wasn't too pink - hope she likes this :). You can stop by the Cinema Saturday blog for more cinema inspired creations and the inspiration corner for more information and details on this movie challenge! Can't wait to see your cinema inspired creations! And stop by Taylor's blog to check out all the deets on her special sketch challenge celebration!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Parisian Romance - Vintage Love Giftset

Good Morning Everyone!

Happy Monday :) Today is my last day as Guest Designer for FireCracker Designs by Pamela and I created a little giftset with a vintage feel for my friend's birthday. She loves to create jewelry and I thought making her a little box to hold her jeweled creations would be a perfect bday present. I used the beautiful set: Parisian Romance:

I loved making this card - I love looking at vintage pieces - but cannot really make them but I found this beautiful and GORGEOUS paper from Graphic 45 and couln't wait to create this project with it :) Here is a picture of the card:

Here is a close up peek at the Eiffel Tower - I added a little vintage heart button to the top of the Bo Bunny flower (I have had this button for 3 years - and am so glad to finally use it!)

Here is a close up picture of the love sentiment with a little heart punched out with some bling and pearls (reminds me of the song "Diamonds and Pearls" by Prince :)

I decorated this box with the papers (a little bit of Zip Dry goes a long way) and then used the same Eiffel Tower Image but used the smaller size stamp for this box. I tied the ribbon across the box and then added a bow on the top with some glue dots :) Here is a picture of the box (both top and side):

And here is a picture of the front of the box :) I added the same bling as on the card and the whole box measures about 3x3 . I can't wait to give this present to her tonight!! I still have some time to go shopping and find some perfect jeweled piece to put inside the box before she opens it!
Card Ingredients:
Paper: Graphic 45 (Communique)
Stamps: Parisian Romance by FireCracker Designs
Inks: Memento Potter's Clay and Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Bling, pearls, heart punch by Martha, Spellbinder tags, Bo Bunny Flowers, vintage heart button, ribbon,

A huge thanks to Pamela for allowing me to Guest Design this month! I have absolutely LOVED working with this gorgeous set!! And I can't wait to give this present to my friend tonight! But first off - to shop for some jewelry to put in it - one of my favorite things to do (aside from shopping at the scrapbook store! :)

Wishing you all a wonderful Monday!!!
Big hugs!
Sankari :)
