IHP February Guest Designer: DT Challenge

Hi Everyone!

Today over at i {heart} papers blog is the monthly DT challenge - and I am so excited to participate along with the wonderful IHP DT  this month we are all making projects using the 12x12 collections that Kate has in the store. I got to use the lovely Lucky in Love (12x12) paper pad from My Mind's Eye which comes with so many  lovely designs and a beautiful stickers accessories that coordinate with all the papers!

One thing that I love to do is to hit garage sales over the weekend and find something that I can do a little makeover too - and this weekend, I found this cute little birdhouse and I suddenly just imagined it all decorated and couldn't wait to get it home!

I sanded the birdhouse and then applied an acrylic coat of blue paint - waited for it to dry and then painted it again - and then one more time.Once it was painted, I decorated the roof with some chevron patterns that are in this DP along with cutting out the scallop pattern in the DP for some scalloped roof- liners (I know that's not even a word, but it was fun to type :) After I finished both sides of the roof, I added some bling to the roof and then added some bling along the sides of the birdhouse and also a little bling with a bow in the center of birdhouse.

One of the sentiments in the sticker Accessories sheet had the sentiment: "I Love You" on it - and I loved the font and thought it would be perfect on the front of the birdhouse - and then added some vertical lined sticker sheet strip along the sides of the birdhouse. After everything is finished, I added a little ModPodge to seal the papers.

I had so much fun looking at all the different patterns in this DP set and picking out papers to decorate the birdhouse and I can't wait to see what all the lovely women on this wonderful team have created with all the lovely sets of 12x12 collection of designer papers!

IHP February Guest Designer: Sunny Skies!!

Hi Everyone,

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I had huge plans to clean the house and organize but instead decided it was more important and fun to take romps and hikes with the kids this weekend :) Finally this morning I had a little chance to play in my stamp corner and LOVED playing along with the super super sweet stamp set: Sunny Skies stamp set created by Lawn Fawn carried in Kate's I {heart} Papers store! I can't resist anything with sunshine or sunny skies - I especially love all the kites and sweet font in this stamp set - it has such a flavor of fun and summer sunshine! :)

I paper pieced the kites from the Sn@p Life (6x6 paper pad) - love the big dots and the little dots in this paper pad and colored in the sun with my copics and added a button onto the center with some twine in the center. My most favorite accessory in this card is the 1"Satin Pleat Ruffle Aqua Blue - isn't it sooo lovely - it adds such a lovely fun twist to the card and then I cut a banner into the sentiment and added it ontop of the ribbon with some dimensionals:

I think the hardest thing of making this card was not using every single stamp into this card - haha!! There is such a cutie birdie stamp in this set that I also wanted to use - but maybe next time!! Such a delightful stamp set - can't wait to make some more sunny skies stamp sets!

I love all the ribbons in the I {Heart} Papers store - SOOO many options to choose from (check out all the ribbon options here!!) and Kate is always getting new goodies into the store - check out all the new stuff here!

Our House :)

Hi Everyone,

I still can't believe that I was asked to join the Dirty Dozen way back last summer and now I can't believe that my time on the dirt pile has ended :( and I am a Dirty Girl Alumni  - everyone told me that it would go by fast - and it really really did!

Here is a card that I made last August but wasn't able to show till now using the Cozy Cottages stamp set from Taylored Expressions - one of my favorite stamp sets (okay, I admit - that pretty much allllll of Taylor's stamp sets are my favorites ;) LOL!!!) I wanted to keep the focus on the images and kept the card blank on the inside - so it can be used for different occasions.

Stamps: Cozy Cottages stamp set and Love Grows here stamp set from Taylored Expressions. Paper: Bazzil cardstock and MME Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Ranger Stained Glass

Accessories: Dimensionals, copics, liquid pearls, EK success scallops, Martha Stewart star, grass and scalloped circle punch, corner chomper, dimensionals and twine.

I stamped the little house and paper pieced the top and bottom and then cut out the windows and popped them out a bit so that the shutters can open and close :) I stamped the tree image on both sides and then colored in the leaves with copics and added a little grass on the bottom. For the banner, I cut out a scallop border with an edger punch and then cut bent the edges near the scallops into an arc shape to create a banner on either side of the house and then added some twine on either side with a little sun in the center (MS star punch).

If you have a chance - check out all the super cute house images in this stamp set - Cozy Cottages - seriously toooo cute!!! So many possibilities!!

IHP February Guest Designer: Pull Up a Chair Friend !!

HI Everyone!

Happy Monday! Wow - mondays sure come around quick these days - but luckily I got some crafty me time this weekend and was grateful for a little stamp therapy before starting a hectic week! 

I am so excited to be February's guest designer for I{Heart} Papers  - Kate has tons of gorgeous stamps and crafty supplies for your crafting happiness :) I love these two stamps from Gourmet Rubber Stamps: Houndstooth Chair and the sentiment from Chair Saying: "Pull up a Chair and sit awhile friend" -  and  paired this stamp set with the Echo Park papers: For the Record 2 . I love this 3/8" Ruffle Edge Trim Elastic (golden yellow)ribbon that Kate has in the store - and added a little to the side

Card Ingredients:

Stamps: Houndstooth Chair and Chair Saying from Gourmet Rubber stamps from I {Heart} Papers

Inks: Memento Bamboo Leaves

Accessories: 3/8" Ruffle Edge Trim Elastic (golden yellow) , heart punch, twine, pearls, copics, and dimensionals 

I paper pieced the Houndstooth Chair  and then cut out the chair and popped it up on the designer paper. I cut out strips of the lovely DP created a mat for it with some black paper and arranged it in strips and added the sentiment on the bottom with a little button with twine on the side.

This is such a perfect set of stamps to send to your BFF with a long letter written inside to catch up with all of life's events :) I hope the rest of your monday is awesome and that your week is beautiful!

Taylored Expressions February Spotlights: Milestone Marker

Hi Everyone,

Did you catch the release of all the yummy new dies and stamps in the Taylored Expressions Store yesterday! There are so many new crafty wonderfulness at the TE store and today, I wanted to share some cards that uses the new stamp set: Milestone Marker and some of the new coordinating number dies - the Poster Graphic Number dies (which coordinates perfectly with the previously released: Poster Graphic Alphabet dies. 

One of our friends is celebrating a golden birthday and I thought it would be fun to create a personalized card with her name. I die cut her name with two different papers from the Pebbles Family Ties collection (6x6) using the Poster Graphic Alphabet dies and the number 50 using the new Poster Graphic Number dies. Here is a my card her birthday:

Card Ingredients:

Stamps: Milestone Marker stamp set and Build a Treat stamp set from Taylored Expressions

Paper: Pebbles: Family Ties (6x6) and Choice Snow White card stock from TE

Inks: Memento Nautical Navy and Bamboo Green

Accessories: Poster Graphic Alphabet dies and  Poster Graphic Number dies  from Taylored Expressions, Banner Stacklets, Circle punches, Scalloped Nesties, stickles, Copics and dimensionals

I stamped the words "happy" and "birthday" with two different inks and then cut it out with the Banner Stacklets dies - which I also used to cut out DP for the layout of my card. I assembled the different "pieces" of the card and then added a little cupcake angled to the side from the Build a Treat stamp set. I couldn't put down either stamp set and kept going to create another card using the sentiments from the Milestone Marker stamp set. There are so many different ways to create sentiments in this set - different numbers for all those special milestones - along with anniversary, birthday sentiments to make it more personal. I also love the sentiment "____ is the new ____" ha! Love it! So for all those special friends or yourself turning a big milestone year - this is the perfect sentiment!!! I created one that says: "40 is the new 30" :

After awhile the age you are turning on your birthday starts to feel surreal doesn't it - age really doesn't matter it is how you feel on the inside - my grandmother at the age of 80 had waaaaay more energy than I ever did - I could never keep up with her! I love how this card turned out and can't wait to make more of these Milestone cards!

Taylored Expressions February Release Day: Elegant Butterfly Overlays

HI Everyone,

Today is release day at Taylored Expressions and all of the new stamp sets and dies are available at the TE store - woohoo!!! Today, I am showing one of my favorite dies from this new release - the Elegant Butterfly Overlays (set of 2 dies) - they are SOOO beautiful! (these dies coordinate perfectly with the Elegant Butterfly dies (set of 2) that were previously released).  I loved the Basic Grey True Love (6x6 paper pad) DP - so lovely! I cut out the butterfly overlays from the DP and then layered them together with the base of the butterfly being cut out with the Elegant Butterfly dies (set of 2) cut from Choice Buttercream cardstock. 

I used the Totally Tags set of 3 dies to center the butterfly in and then added some pearls to the body of the butterfly - I loved how these overlays look - so delicate and lovely! Here is a closer look at the Butterfly dies-  I paired this with the sweet sentiment: "Forever & Always" from the Calla Lily Bouquet stamp set:

Taylored Expressions February Sneak Peek: Posh Posies

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the second day of sneak peeks from Taylored Expressions! Today I am showing a project from the darling full size stamp set: Posh Posies and the Silhouette Stems 1 dies. I love silhouettes - both to stamp and dies - it makes it so quick to create a card and you can cut so many different textures with your dies! I create a little cloud scene for my card and used the Silhouette Dies to cut out the posies in Twilight Dark card stock and then cut them out again in some Intense Orange card stock - and then cut the orange part of the posies and adhered them to the blue stems. I then layered this onto the newest cutting plate - my favorite one so far - the Circle Cutting Plate that I cut with
Jetstream blue card stock:

The rest was very simple - the sentiment "You're in my thoughts" cut with the Banner Stacklets that I adhered to two buttons stacked together with some twine and glue dots and then I finished it off with some Orange glimmer ribbon. I also added a little bit of orange stickles to the posies for a bit of shine and then stamped on the inside with the silhouette stamps in three different color inks: Tangelo, Dandelion and Cantaloupe from Memento. I loved using the contrasting colors of blue and orange and represented the sun with the buttons - as if the posies were bowing down as the sun was beginning to set: This is such a pretty set and the coordinating dies make it so much fun to create different sets of elegant and posh flowered cards!

Paper: Twilight Dark , Jetstream blue,  Intense Orange card stock and Choice Snow White card stock from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Tangelo, Dandelion, Cantaloupe and Summer Sky

Taylored Expressions February Sneak Peek: Basket-Ful and Easter Doodles

Hi Everyone,

This week begins the February Sneak Peeks of Taylored Expressions with the newest release on this Thursday! This is such a super cute release with the awesomest must have dies! I loved playing with the new Basket-Ful petite stamp set (which also coordinates with the Bushel & Peck stamp set, All Aboard set and the Loads of Fun stamp set) because I just love all the springy Easter stamp sets (it makes the winter more bearable just stamping some fun spring scenes! :). I love the cute basket in this stamp set - I stamped it and colored it with copics and then cut it out nestled it in some grass and added the sweet eggs into the basket. I created a little shadow box using the Label Stacklets 1 dies and then nestled my image inside it:

Ink: Memento Ladybug Red, Rich Cocoa, Bahama Blue

And continuing with the sweet Spring time feel - I used the super cute Easter Doodles stamp set to create a little giftset of cards with the sentiment "You Crack Me Up" with a cute little egg hatching out of the egg - heehee! SOOO cute!!! I used the papers from the Simple Stories Snap Color Vibe 6x6 paper pad for layering the different layers of the cards:

Here is a closer peek at one of the cards - I used a little bit of glaze on the egg cracking open (soo cute!) and added a little more doodle using the Curly Border die:

I loved using the mirror images of the colors for the cards - it made assembling the cards very fast and fun! I added a little pennant border to the side and finished it off with a little bit of bling :

Verve Divas Inspiration Hop - February 2013

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to our FebruaryDiva Inspirations Hop!  Today the Divas are dusting off some Verve favorites and putting on our monthly hop to inspire you with a fresh new spin on the stamps in our stash!  For my project today I used the darling stamp set: Beautiful You from Verve stamps to create a little scrapbook page. The sister of my dear dear friend is celebrating her 25th Wedding Anniversary and so we wanted to create a page with pictures of her sister on her wedding day as well as a pic of them now - as a couple and as a family. What an inspiration it is to be be married for so long and with so much love for each other! I created a layout that was mostly grays and creams and had a little pop of blue.  This stamp set has so many absolutely lovely verses - so inspiring and beautiful - and I especially loved the one: "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our create away." Here is a picture of the whole page - I later framed it into a large white Shadowbox (it was a hard to take a picture of the framed layout because of the reflection of the glass - but here is the whole layout unframed: 

I used some silver trims and some silver bling brads which coordinated perfectly with the beautiful flower stamp that this stamp set has - such a gorgeous flower  - I stamped the flower twice - once in cream and then once in gray and then popped the smaller flower onto the larger flower. The smaller one's petals are colored with copics and then I added a little stickle to them for an etra level of sparkle - here is a closer look at the sentiment and the flower stamp:

And here is the picture of them when they were first married - I added a little metallic brad to the corner:\

I love their expressions in this picture - so sweet!

February IHP Guest Designer :)

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to be the February Guest Designer for I {Heart} Papers which is owned by the super sweet Kate Baldwin! I am so lucky that I have gotten to meet Kate twice at CHA - she is so much fun, sweet and positive! Here is a picture from Summer CHA 2010 where I got to meet Kate (in pink) as well as a bunch of amazing papercrafters (Ashley Cannon Newell, (that's me in the black :), Lori Tecler, Carolyn Mustopa, Kate Baldwin, Deb Felts and Gretchen Belknap). I loved meeting Kate for the first time in LA and then in Chicago for then next CHA:

I have loved shopping at IHP - super cute stamps, awesome paper and ribbon and Kate is so super fast with her shipping and does everything with so much love! I can't wait to share my IHP projects with this month - big thanks to Kate for inviting me this month - YAY!!!
