Hi everyone,

Welcome to the second day of Petite-a-Palooza sneak peeks from Taylored Expressions where today Taylor will be showcasing all the new card kits, along with more new Petite Stamp sets - all of which will be available tomorrow at Release Day! Each of the card kit includes 10 solid cardstock bases, 10 neutral cardstock image panels, envelopes, patterend paper, ribbon, pearls and all the ingredients come in the awesome new Petite Storage Cases! There are 4 new kits to choose and along with these kits and I used the Basic Grey Indie Blooms Card Kit for my card today. Taylor has designed three new Petite stamp sets that come with coordinating dies! These are the Fly your Flag stamp sets (3 different *te* stamps, each with 7 rubber images, plus 1 coordinating die!).

For my card today, I used Taylor's sweet little design from her Fly your Flag-3 stamp set and used the coordinating die to cut out these cute little flags. I stamped the flag three times in three different color inks and then cut them out with the coordinating die. Each flag was wrapped around a bamboo skewer (could also use a toothpick or rolled up paper) and then I used the You're my Type stamp set to spell out the word: "Yay" which I punched out with the 1/2" circle punch and then popped onto my flags with some dimensionals.

Card ingredients:
Paper: Basic Grey Indie Blooms Card Kit from Taylored Expressions
Stamps: Fly Your Flag 3 stamp set,  It's a Banner Day 1 stamp set and You're my Type stamp set  from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Tangelo, Memento Cantaloupe, Memento Ladybug Red, Memento Bamboo leaves
Accessories: Fly Your Flag 3 coordinating die, It's A Banner Day 1 coordianting die and Pennant Border Die all from Taylored Expressions, liquid pearls white, Scorpal, Spellbinders circle, dimensionals, 1/2" circle punch and glue dots.

I used the It's a Banner Day 1 stamp set to create the wavy banner on the bottom onto which I stamped the sentiment: "celebrate" which is from the Fly Your Flag 3 stamp set. I finished it off with the Pennant Border Die at the top  too coordinate with the ribbon, the orange and blue circle - all of which are from the Basic Grey Indie Blooms Card Kit.

I can't wait to check out all the gorgeous creations from all of the stamp sets that are being peeked today by the design team! Please hop around with me and check them out!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Please stop by tomorrow for Release Day Fun!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

2 Sketches 4 You - Top 5- Celebrate!

Happy Saturday Everyone - Hope your weekend is off to a great start!

I am still in happy shock to have made it into the Top 5 (what an honor! thank you! so much Laura, Kazan, wonderful judges!) in the Ultimate Card Showdown that
Kazan and Laura are hosting at 2 Sketches 4 You. This Showdown was created to celebrate the one year anniversary of their sketch challenge blog. So for this last sketch I thought it would be fun to create a celebratory card. To the left is the awesome sketch that Laura has created for us for the last round.

And as soon as I saw it my head was buzzing with ideas and possibilities but the one that I went with was the "carousel celebration" idea :) Our family has been visiting us this week - and they have included some trips to the carousel and so the image of the line going up and down and the circle element in the middle looked like a carousel horse ride. So I thought I would have fun making a cotton candy dreamy, whimsical merry happy card :)

The half circles on the top and bottom of the sketch looked like the top inside and bottom of the carousel and I sketched a little fun tent top and alternated patterned paper with sponged edges and some ruffling by cutting up some doily punched edges.

The horse was created in photoshop and I printed her on some green paper and white cardstock. Coloring in the mane, bows, saddle on the white cardstock - I cut it and then paper pieced it onto the green horse which I then sponged on the edges for some dimension. The blingy swirls and clouds seemed kinda fun and whimsy.

This is the inside of the card following the same theme of the sketch:

I wanted to create a few more things inside - but thought I would keep it simple-ish - so I finished it off with some swirly bling just like on the outside of the card.

Card details:

Paper: Mostly from the June 20th Key Ingredient kit from Taylored Expressions (and some from the Spring Splendor pack)

Ink: Adirondack Expresso

Stamps: Year of Sweet Sentiments: Celebrate sentiment and from the Branching Out Accessories stamp set: the cloud – the horse is created from a free photoshop brush and the tent top is handrawn

Accessories: 1 3/4 inch circle punch and 1 inch circle, Say it with Crystals bling, stickles, threading punch, doily punch from Martha, dimensionals, bling from K & Company, mini clear gels, sponger, liquid pearls, ribbon from stash

I can't believe that this is the last round - I am so honored to be with these wonderful ladies who are in the Top 5 - you are all an inspiration as are all of the players from all the rounds of this showdown and all of you wonderful cheerleaders encouraging us on :)

Kristina Werner Color Inspiration Challenge #25 - Celebrate!

Happy Friday Everyone!

I can't even believe how quickly this week has flown by - and I haven't done any crafting or anything this week - whaaat is goin' on?? well, nothing like a Kristina Werner Color Inspiration Challenge to fix that! I was going to do it this morning - but my friend called to remind me that today was Bike Fest at my son's school (where the ride their bikes and trikes to help raise money per mile)... so I put away any craft stuff and instead packed our bikes and trikes and helmets and water and snacks and treats in my magical diaper bag and headed off... I have to say that my son loved ever second of biking -he did a great job and even my little girl (who is one and half did a few laps on her push trike... sooo cute...)
Anyhoo... I quickly made this card so that I could take a pic in the last rays of the sun... I am so glad that the weekend has officially begun.
Here is my little card of a silhouette lady holding a cupcake (of course there has to be cupcake ... right?) I painted the sentiment "Celebrate" and then glazed it. This is an early birthday card  for our friend Julie whose b-day is coming up in a few days and owns the yummiest store in town and has the sweetest heart and smile! Happy Bday Julie!

Also in exciting news - our new challenge site: Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge premiers tomorrow - click HERE for all the fun details!! Hope you all come and play along with us!!!

Thanks for coming for a visit!
Sending you all sunshine,
Sankari :)

3 Color Throwdowns in One

Good Morning All,

I have been missing doing all the awesome color challenges at the Color Throwdown site with all the amazing lovely ladies who design absolutely beautiful cards every week. Last week I made a card - but didn't have time to post it - so I am posting it this week along with this week's throwdown colors.

The colors this week were so pretty - baja breeze, chocolate chip and old olive. I loved the softness of the baja breeze and wanted to make a softer kind of card. The card was created on Photoshop and matted on the green and brown cardstock. I also added a liquid glaze on the brown bamboo - can't really see it in the pic though and also added a double bow with green and brown ribbon. This was made for a friend who had surgery last week and has been in our thoughts and prayers.

This card was made for last week's challenge colors to honor 9-11. This card is really simple (I am sorry for the pic - but the light was not quite right for taking pictures) - the background is dry embossed, the sparkles and celebrate sentiment is from DCVW summer paper pack. I added red and blue bling to the sparklers, red and white paint, brads and ribbon.

This last card was made for a color throwdown challenges from over 5 weeks ago! I missed doing this one when we were visiting family in Minnesota. I love these colors together - they look like sari colors. I have been trying to figure out some samples of simple christmas cards that can be mass produced - and this one came out kinda nice. It was beyond easy to make - this was a 10 minute card - no joke! The triangles were made from cutting squares in half ( I used my Creative Memories square punches in 4 sizes), the circles were punched out with my circle punch, the flower was punched out using my Creative Memories Medow Maker punch. Then I added some ribbon, some painted dots, a button with some stickles and handwrote the sentiment with a gel pen.... The size was a fun one to work with - it was a left over scrap - that looked to cute to go in the trash - I think I might be making a few more of these because they were so quick.

I can't wait to catch up on the rest of the Color Throwdown challenges that I have missed. They are really great challenges and I love looking at the design team's cards - they are all so inspiring. Hope all of you are having a wonderful Saturday and that you get to throw some colors down soon!!!

Thanks for visiting!
Ciao for now,
Sankari
