Happy Birthday dearest Susanna!!!

Good Morning Everyone,

Today - October 22nd is a special birthday! It's Susanna Boyd's birthday!!!! woo-hooo!!! As you might know, Susanna is the creator of the website Card of the Week and the founder/creator of Paper Craft Planet - an online community for crafters. Susanna is one of the sweetest people I know - she is AMAZING!!! Seriously - I don't know how she does all the things that she does and not only that - but she does it so beautifully!! She works, she is a mom, she coordinates sooo many different projects and always has such a positive attitude and awesome sense of humor!!! I am so blessed to have gotten to know her and chat with her - she is one sweet cookies!!! (SB, if you are reading this - I ADORE you and want to be you when I grow up!!!)

So to celebrate her birthday, the Super Nova Design Team decided to throw her a party - blogstyle! We are all creating her a special card album (you can view here) and would love for you to create a card for her as well!!! And what is a party without some yummy party favors??!!??? Right?! Susanna loves Tom Selleck! and so I wanted to create a little birthday something with Tom in it :) So I created a little scrapbook page for her using this week's Scrappy Sunday sketch challenge by Jen for the layout and used the awesome digital kit from the Sweet Shoppe Designs called: Cinemania by Lauren Grier and MandaBean. I have to say that these digital kits are awesome - there are so many and I just get lost looking at each yummy one!!!

This is my first full digi set and I can't wait to print it out and add some final embellishments (yes, liquid pearls, lol!) 2 Sketches 4 You - World Card Making Day Blog Hop!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

Happy Saturday and Happy World Card Making Day and the 2 Sketches 4 You Blog Hop. This morning, each one of us on the 2 Sketches 4 You Design Team drew inspiration from an awesome sketch from our lovely Laura and Kazan that was created specifically for this event at 2 Sketches 4 You. Each one of the DT members had a different sponsor to bring you a ton of inspiration and of course Prizes to be won. Just by leaving a comment on each Designers Blog you will be eligible to win a particular sponsors prize. Today - I was so lucky to work with Sassy Studio Designs.

Lindsay Dyer, owner and artist of Sassy Studio Designs, creates gorgeous, sassy images that will delight just about anyone including the teenager, hip adult in your life. New sassy digital images are released every month on the 1st and 15th and can be purchased from Sassy Studio Designs Shop. Sassy Studio Designs also have a very talented Design Team who create fantastic projects for your inspiration - take a look at what they are presenting on various blog posts HERE.

Blog Hop Giveaway

I am giving away this gorgeous Halloween Collection of Sassy Studio Designs . All you have to do to WIN this entire collection is leave me a comment here by Midnight (MST) and I will randomly select the lucky winner. All winners will be announced tomorrow, Sunday Oct 4, on 2 Sketches 4 You.

I chose to work with the super cute little witch on the broom - how sweet is she?! LOVE it! I printed out the image and cut it out with spellbinders and then colored her in with some copics. I printed out these sweet papers from the Sweet Shoppe - I thought the little paper with the witches hat would be perfect for this image :).

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Digital Papers from the Sweet Shoppe: Cast a Spell Collection by Kristin Cronin-Barrow
Ink: Stazon Black - used to stamp the sentiment directly onto the digital die cut
Stamps: Cute Witch from the Halloween Collection from the Sassy Studio Designs and sentiment from the Trick or Sweet 1 from Taylored Expressions
Accessories: star punch from Creative Memories, Adirondack liquid pearls, spellbinders, ribbon from stash, brad from Taylored Expressions, bling from K and Co. corner chomper, EK success punch.

I had a lot of fun playing with this sweet image and can't wait to see what the rest of the Design Team created with this sketch with their different sponsors! So come on over and hop with me:

Some SWEEEEET News!

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Guess What!?! I am so excited to share some awesome news that just became official!! I am so honored to be part of something sweet! The Sweet Shoppe Design Team as one of their Hybrid Babes! The Sweet Shoppe Designs store has a TON (and I mean a TON!!!) of Digital Papers, Templates and everything that you need for all your digi scrapbooking needs - they also have a hybrid team to where we combine the digi papers into a traditional card/scrapbook making!!! And I am SO excited to be part of this - along with two other brand new Hybrid Babes: the very talented Heather Nichols and Anthonette Chavez!!!

The wonderful Robin Carlton who is the owner of the Sweet Shoppe Designs store just sent out a newsletter announcing this and check out the sweet little welcome she included for us!!! I am so excited to be working with Digi Media and translating that to more traditional paper making projects and cards!

To show you how AMAZING the world of digi papers is - I made a super quick card using one of their kits by designer Fee Jardine called Fallin 4 You. This picture below is the complete set that you will get to download:

I mean there is a TON of elements and papers and embellishments and letters - there is just so much in one kit - that it is mind boggling to think of all the projects that one could create!!! I totally fell in love with the cute sweet owls so I made a card using the Digi papers that I printed out and used like any other paper and also the cute owl images and came up with this card:

Details:
Ink: Rose Red from SU!
Stamps: from Making Memories
Accessories: ribbon and button from stash, corner rounder, liquid glaze, liquid pearls, dimensionals,

All the papers are digital papers that I printed out (except for the brown cardstock) and then scored, cut and sponged like any other paper. Aren't those owlies just darling!!! I applied a little liquid glaze on them so they would pop out a little bit :)

So here are some digital questions that I had and my own answers to my questions:
  • 1. Does it take a lot of ink to print out the papers: Nope - I thought it would but it printed very easily, cleanly (I printed on a matte cardstock)
  • 2. Don't I need a really good printer to print out digital things: Nope! I definitely have a very sorry printer and the fact that I could print stuff from my printer amazes me! If my printer could print out these yummy pages - I guarentee that yours will too!
  • 3. Why Digital? Well, one thing for a very small fee - you can download a TON of papers, embellies etc. that you can use again and again and again AND resize to YOUR paper crafting project! And it doesn't take up space on your craft desk! And these papers are AMAZING at the Sweet Shoppe! SO impressive!!! I want them all! :)
  • THe other thing is that I love printing out these super cute images/papers and making a card out of them. I love getting dirty in my inks and embellies and now I feel like there is an endless supply of papers that I can use again and again right at my finger tips! LOVE that!

I am sure there are other questions that I had that I can't remember them - and if you have any I will try my best to answer them or find someone who might know! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!
Big hugs and happy heart smiles!

Sankari :)
