Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks - Day 3

HI Everyone!!!!

Its the third day of sneak peeks from Taylored Expressions and today Taylor is peeking some amazing stamp sets to help you get your holiday organization ON!!! The Baker's Dozen will be showing samples from the stamp sets called: Tag You're it, Keeping Tabs and  Take Note Holiday stamp sets which are all ready for you to create some really cute tags for the holidays or even create a holiday organizer! Our amazing illustrator Nancy McKinney designed these beautiful stamp sets and she has also designed two different Christmas lists to coordinate with the Take Note Holiday Stamp set - both of which will be available as a download! LOVE that convenience.

I used the Take Note Holiday stamp set along with the Keeping Tabs stamp set to create this holiday book with the new Project Pantry kit called: Tinsel and Twig! I am never ready for the holidays - and I am hoping fingers crossed that this year will be different! I already feel great that I have an organizer to help me through it!!!

There is a super cute tab stamp in the Keeping Tabs stamp set that comes in different designs (filled and not filled) that will definitely help you keep tabs! Taylor is also coming out with a *NEW*  tab die cut to help you cut it - and what is great about this die cut - is that it cuts it so that you can fold it in half and create a tab!!! I used the Keeping Tabs die along with the Take Note Frame 3 Die that coordinates with the super sweet stamp in the Take Note Holidays Stamp set. I used the Copper Squares that Taylor sells in the store to cut out my tabs and then embossed over it.

Here is what it looks like when it is opened:

 I LOVE that the dies can cut through the copper and the embossing gives it a fun look: I love all the different words that are there that will help create the perfect organizer for each person depending on what it is that they would like to organize! 

I divided my notebook into 4 main TABS:

1. a To Do section - I created a little pocket to put in lists and such

2. A Gift section - I have tabs for both giftcards and also for any coupons for gifts that I made find ( I LOVE that these are both words that are in this stamp set!)

3. Receipt section - This section has three pockets for all the receipts from the holiday season - I always dread not being able to find a receipt to return a gift - so I wanted to make sure that there were enough pockets for them! Also on the other side of this page I created a little "Menu" section - to put little recipes for the holidays that I might find here and there - I can just put it all in this section

4. And the last section was to have a place for all my card addresses - who sent us a card - any change in address - who I need to send a card to etc. - for this section - I created a little notebook.

Here is a closer look at the second page, the stamp set: I LOVE each of the different TAB stamps in the Keepin Tabs stamp set and it was so super easy to cut out the tabs with the Keeping Tabs Die! I created a little envelope for the gift cards and also another little pocket for the coupons - I am actually ready for some holiday shopping now!!!

Here is a close up of the next page - I am always loving all the menu ideas from Martha Stewart and now I have a pocket to put them all in. Also I created a pocket or three for keeping track of all my recipets:

 And lastly - I need a little notebook for keeping track of the cards I send and who sends them to me - so the last section is for all the cards received and sent:

Verve New Release Spotlights Day 1: Plain Janes, Many Blessings, Happy Fall

Welcome Everyone to the Verve New Release Spotlight For Autumn 2010!!!  This month's Verve Stamps release is sure to knock your socks off - Julee always creates such gorgeous graphics and such beautiful sentiments! All of the new sets will be ready for purchase this Friday - so stay tuned for more release details!

Today - the Verve Divas are showing samples from the Plain Janes stamps (there are 4 this month!!!), a sweet and lovely stamp set called: Many Blessings and a beautiful happy stamp set called Happy Fall!  I totally fell in love with the three flowers in the Many Blessings stamp set - they are so much fun - they are cute, and little, and are layerable and are the perfect size for a small card or a larger one! 

For this first card, I used this stamp set (Many Blessings and paired it up with the sun from the: Let it Shine Stamp set.) I used the gorgeous sketch for World Card Making Day:VSWCMD#4 - you can check out all the gorgeous sketches here and details to play along (one person who plays along with all 5 challenges will win the Autumn release!!! Holla!) 

I loved the circle element in this sketch that was open and floating about - and I decided to make my circle with liquid pearls instead :)  I paired the larger and medium flowers next to each other and then stamped twice, one time coloring and the second cutting and coloring over the first.  Its starting to get cold out here - so I had to make just one last summery kind of card :) I added a little glaze and a little twine to the button for detail.

As much as I love the bright sunny colors, I also wanted to go a little cooler and went with a palate of btowns and blue. I used one of the Plain Janes with the sentiment from Galatians: "Let me not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." What a lovely sentiment - so inspiring - it was so much fun to color in these sweet flowers different shades of blue and then add a wee bit of bling to the middle:

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks - Day 2 - Sparkle and Cheer!

Hi Everyone!


Today is Day 2 of sneak peeks over at Taylored Expressions (woo-hoo!) and the Baker's Dozen girls are going to show you MORE sneak peeks of stamp sets and Project Pantries and NEW Taylored Expressions Dies!!!! All o theYesterday we showed peeks from 4 new stamp sets! And today we are showing samples from 2 more new stamp sets one of which is called Sparkle and Cheer and the other which is called: Winter Wonderland.


Taylor is also going to be releasing 2 new Project Pantry Kits (if you are not familiar with the Project Pantry Kits - these are kits that Taylor puts together (designer paper, coordinating cardstock and ribbon and embellishments that make it a cinch to craft!) Today, I played with the Sparkle and Cheer stamp set with the Sparkle and Cheer Project Pantry -now that's a whole lot of "Cheer!"


I created this card using something else that Taylor will be releasing on Thursday: one of the many Taylored Expressions Dies called: WinterWonderland Snowflakes!!!! WooT! I loved punching out the snowflake three times on three different sheets of the DP and then covering it with Versamark and glittery EP. These snowflakes coordinate perfectly with the Winterwonderland stamp set - but I wanted to Sparkle them up a bit and use it with the awesome sentiment: "Sparkle and Cheer". 


I created a sparkly white cardstock base for the snowflakes to sit on by stamping the whole section with Versamark and then sprinkling glittery EP and embossing it ... Love that you can create a whole lot of sparklyness that way - here is a picture of all glitter - its hard to see and hard to take a photo of it:

I love all the fun DP in the Sparkle and Cheer Project Pantry kit and the ribbons are amazing! I used the silky sweet green ribbon to hold up my snowflakes and the red grosgrain ribbon for a bit of a bow and lastly I finished off the scallops with a bit of the blue rhinestones in the kit and then a little bit of liquid pearl around the card.

This stamp set is awesome for creating lots of christmas cards easily because the images are silhouettes - no coloring necessary - just stamp and go! So I thought I would create a couple of quick cards that I could do assembly line fashion for later this year. I die cut the  two snowflake and covered it with glitter and set it aside. I stamped the image (either the gorgeous reindeer or the beautiful sleigh) with Colorbox Warm Violet ink (I think these are my new favorite inks!) and then cut it out with my nesties. I thought it would be fun to create a little circle card so I adhered it to the purple cardstock in the kit that is cut with the scalloped Lacy Circle nesties from Spellbinders.

I did the same thing with the sleigh image and cut out a secondary circle to put the snowflake in. There are SO many wonderful sentiments to choose from in this set - I went with the beautiful sentiment: "Celebrate the Season" and cut it out so that it could be ontop of the snowflake. I added a wee bit of stickles for the snow and finished it with a little bow from the purple ribbon in the Sparkle and Cheer Project Pantry Kit.

I really enjoyed how fun and quick it was to create these two cards - can't wait to do more with the other beautiful silhouetted images in this beautiful Sparkle and Cheer stamp set!!!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 1!!!!

Hi Everyone,

Guess What - its release week over at Taylored Expressions - and you are not going to believe the sheer amount of awesomeness that will be released this week - from brand new Taylored Dies, to Brand New stamps, to brand new Project Pantrys and more! SO much Yumminess!!! Today on the menu, the Baker's Dozen girls are going to preview 4 new stamp sets: Gobble Gobble, Penguin Pals, Merry Little Cocktails and Hangin' Out at the North Pole!!!! This and more will all be released on Thursday at 8am PST at the Taylored Expressions Store!!! WOO-HOOOOO


Every single one of the stamp sets today is pure awesomeness!!! I was so excited today to be able to play along with the gorgeous stamp set: Hangin' Out: At the North Pole :) You might know that I have a little soft space for all of the Hangin' Out Stamp sets :) - and this one is absolutely amazing - seriously - there are 22 stamps in this one stamp set - it was absolute pure joy to stamp and make cards with this beautiful stamp set!

For the first card, I used supplies from a new project pantry kit that we will be sharing with you tomorrow ;) but I couldn't wait to use today :)))) . I stamped the stockings and mitten, the poles, and birdies and cut them out after coloring. I created some waves for the hills of snow and then embossed the background and then "hung" the stockings with care :). It was so much fun to cut out everything and to then dot it up with some liquid pearls :) I stamped the sentiment onto the Take Note Frame 3 and then cut out the top portion. Everything is popped out onto dimensionals and then after stamping I added a little bit of glaze to the lanterns and to the snow:

I love how this card turned out and couldn't wait to make another card with some cute clothes hangin' out - and what could be cuter than Santa's outfit being hung out to dry before his big trip around the world? I colored and cut out the sweet Santa images and used the same Take Note Die set from Taylored Expressions for the sentiment on the bottom. I added a little bit of liquid pearls to the Santa Suit to give it a little texture and sheen:

World Card Making Day

HI Everyone!!!

Happy World Card Making Day!!!!!!

Welcome to Just A Blog Hop!!!  If  you are hopping here from Rachel 's blog than you are on the right track - if not you will want to start at Jami Sibley's blog so you don't miss any crafting yumminess!!! We were invited to put aside all of our stamping oriented obligations and deadlines and create something just for fun! How fun is that!  The hop guidelines were simple: choose a challenge to play and choose either a new uninked stamp or an old favorite.  Create a card and mail it to someone.  What could be better to celebrate World Card making day? 

I hope that I am not the only one who has un-inked stamps - I hang my head down in shame for all the stamps that I have bought, but have not had a chance to ink up - so today I was really happy to ink up some rubber or ahem, acrylic :) I chose to play with the Sweet Hearts stamp set from Clear And Simple Stamps - its been waiting for me to ink it up for waaaay to long!!! 

I picked the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge, where this week YOU get to pick your favorite movie and then create a card inspired by it!  So I chose to pick the movie: PS. I love You starring Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank - sigh - talk about a movie that pulls your heart strings! Gerard Butler plays a character who has a chronic illness and passes away but sends letters to his wife before he passes away to help her to ease the pain of his death in the coming months- each letter is signed: PS- I love You.... 

This stamp set reminded me of that movie - because even when he is gone - his love for her comes back to her  and helps her find herself. I saw these hearts in this stamp set floating from the tree as if a wind blew it - and it reminded me of his love for her coming to wrap her up in love and the sentiment on the cloud says: PS I Love You!

I had such a fun time making a card "just because" and the best part was making it when everyone was sleeping - LOVE that! Quiet time, snoring babies and a craft desk waiting for me - woo-hoo!!! Inspired Crafters Sketch Challenge

HI Everyone,

 Happy October 1st! I am so excited to be a guest designer today for a new challenge blog called Inspired Crafters where today they have created a super sweet sketch to get your crafting mojo going! I have to say that I love sketch challenges, especially when you have when you are running short on mojo! Sketches give such a solid play for you to start in creating a card - the only problem is sometimes I forget to follow the sketches perfectly - until I realize it later :) I just started a new thing - where I keep a notebook on my craft desk and draw sketches that I come across in blogland along with the URL so that if I get stuck I flip through sketches and get the mojo going :) 

 I loved this sketch because it leaves so much room for interpretation and so I kind interpreted a lot of scallops into my card today :D! I pulled out one of my favorite bday stamp sets from Taylored Expressions called Make a Wish and used the super sweet cake as my focal for the card. I colored it with copics and then highlighted it with some liquid pearls for the frosting and then sponged the edges green:
