Verve Diva Inspiration - September 2014

Hi Everyone,

Today is the fifth day in a week of birthday cards on my blog as a way to celebrate my birthday which was on Wednesday :) AND today is also Verve's September Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the Divas to serve up some fresh inspiration with their Verve stamps! Leave some comment love along the hop spots for a chance to win a prize, then grab some stamps and play along with our September inspiration challenge for another chance to win!

This month's challenge is entitled Sweet September:

Sugar-high! Get sugary sweet with pastels, cupcakes or candy. Create a calorie free confection to delight the senses! Feel free to use the graphic as inspiration or not.

I decided to kind of use the graphic as inspiration and incorporated the pastel colors to create a rainbow of sugary sparkley cake birthday tags using the Big Wish stamp set and the sentiment from the Small Phrases sentiment from Verve stamps. Here is my rainbow array of birthday tags:

I stamped the tag stamp from the Sweet Treats stamp set in 5 different colors and then created a mat using some kraft cardstock. I stamped the sentiment with the same colors and then cut out the sentiment using the Charming Banners dies from Verve.:

The cake is from the Big Wish stamp set - I colored it with copic markers and then glitterfied them and added liquid pearls to the edging of them and then adhered them to the circles of white and kraft cardstock. I then mounted the whole cake and onto the Sweet Scallop die from Verve, added an eyelet and then added ribbon and bling. I love all the sparkly goodness - here is a close up peek:

Here is a close up of one of the tags - I added some stickles to the candles and some liquid pearls to the edges:

Here are the tags in all the different colors:

Card Ingredients:
Stamp set: Big Wish stamp set for the cake, the tag stamp is from the Sweet Treats stamp set and the sentiment is from the Small Phrases stamp set from Verve stamps.
Cardstock: Kraft and Choice White from TE

Accessories: Circle Spellbinders, White gel pen, Charming Banner dies  from Verve stamps, (set of 2) and Sweet Scallop die from Verve Stamps, eyelets, white ribbon, colorful bling, chunky glitter.

September Birthday Week: Day 4: Cupcakes and Trucks!

Hi Everyone!

I love love September! Yesterday I had a fantastic birthday and am still on a bday high! This week, I am extending my birthday to a birthweek and am showing  birthday card or project everyday! Today is Day 4 of birthday card making and for today, I am showing a card I made using the Big Delivery stamp set that comes with a coordinating die to cut the truck out, as well as different items that you can put into the back of the truck like sunshine and cupcakes and hearts. I had to choose the cupcake for the birthday week project!

There are other things that you can fill in this truck from the Bushels & A Peck stamp set, the Basket Full stamp set, and the Loads of fun stamp set! So much variety!!! I created a little banner and added some grass and sky and then popped up the truck and cupcake onto the scene  - here is closer peek at the detail:

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Big Delivery stamp set from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black and Copics
Papers: Choice Snow White card stock from TE, Choice Black cardstock, Bazzill card stock green, yellow, orange
Accessories: Party Banner Border die, Cloud Border Die, Grass Border die, Stickles, dimensional foam

It's so much fun to create cards with this stamp set! If you have made a card with this set, please post a link so I can check it out!

September Birthday Week: Day 3: Happy Birthday!

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited because today is my birthday! YAY! woooohooo!! I am so happy and excited and I feel like a little kid again! For the first week in September, I thought I would post a birthday card every day and so for today's card, I created a fun and super cute little scene with some cutie birdies using the Bless Your Nest stamp set and the coordinating Bless Your nest dies:

Here is closer peek at the card - the birds and nest are die cuts from the coordinating die set that matches this stamp - I popped up the second bird with a little foam after creating a scene with some clouds and the tree from the stamp set:

Card Ingredients:
Stamp set: Bless your Nest stamp set from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Ink Ladybug Red and Distress Broken Glass
Taylored dies: Bless your Nest coordinating dies, Cloud Border die
Papers: Boy oh Boy from Carta Bella and Kraft cardstock
Accessories: Corner chomper, kraft buttons, satin ribbon, copic markers, foam tape, Best Glue ever

This is such a fun stamp set and the coordinating dies make it super easy to create texture and and cut out elements from any paper that coordinates with your card papers.

I am so excited to have some cake and have dinner with my family and friends! This birthday feels different and my main wish for this birthday is that I can be fully present to my family be conscious and aware in how I am with those who are dear to me.

And on this day, I am so grateful for all of my friends in blogland - thank you for your friendship, for stopping by and saying hi and for being an inspiration to me! You guys rock!

Big hugs and love!
Sankari :)

September Birthday Week - Day 2: Happy Birthday Note!!

Hi Everyone!

Happy September 2nd!!! I LOVE September - mainly because my birthday is tomorrow :) !! And I love to make cards - so I thought for this first week in September that I would make birthday cards everyday! Woohoo!!!

Today, I created a quick birthday note using two dies and little cupcake!. The Bracket Notecard die is such a perfect die to make a mini note to stick into a giftbag or mail out to someone. I cut it out with some gray cardstock and then used papers from Simple Stories: Hello Baby DP. For the center of the card, I used the Birthday Treat Topper dies that cut out the happy birthday sentiment out and in then in the center, I stamped and cut out a cupcake from the It's In the Bag stamp set:
Here is a closer peek at the center of the notecard - love this awesome happy birthday sentiment and how it is die cut so easily to create a no-stamp sentiment!

Card Ingredients:
Stamp set: Cupcake from It's In the Bag stamp set from Taylored Expressions
Papers: Gray Cardstock, Hello Baby (Simple Stories)
Accessories: copic markers, circle punches, foam dimensionals, green ribbon, Best Glue Ever

Thank you so much for stopping over today! I am posting another fun birthday card tomorrow and for the rest of the week  - so hop on by if you have a chance :)
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

September Birthday Week - Day 1: Have a Far Out Birthday!!

Hi Everyone!

Happy September 1st!!! I LOVE September - mainly because my birthday is in two days!! And I love to make cards - so I thought for this first week in September that I would make birthday cards everyday! Woohoo!!!

Today, I am using this super fun set called Far Out from Taylored Expressions to create this birthday card:

I love these fun robots - aren't they super cute?! I used the Robot dies to cut them out and then colored them with copics and popped them together to create a little birthday grouping in the front. Using the Sprockets Border die, I created a little border on the bottom with some brads in the center and then cut out the two extra sprockets from this and put them here and there on the card. Here is a closer peek:

Card Ingredients:
Stamp Set: Far Out (Taylored Expressions)
Inks: Memento Rose Red and Copic Markers
Papers: Choice Snow White and Carte Bella (Boy Oh Boy)
Taylored Dies: Sprockets Border and Robots dies
Accessories: Sprockets Border die, white gel pen, foam tape (TE), corner rounder, brads and Best Glue Ever

I always feel after I make a card, why didn't I make 5 more of the same card so that I can build up my birthday stash? One rainy day I would love to do just that!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hop on by tomorrow if you get a chance for another birthday card :)

Happy September!

Ciao for now,
Sankari :)
