I am sorry that I have been MIA for so long - right after the last blogpost I got under the weather and have been taking some time to get back to 100% before blogging. I have to say I missed my little craft table and its been crazy getting caught up with everything.... which I think will never happen ... sigh! Well, today being saturday, its cinema day :) Every saturday on the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge blog, we pick a movie and then create a card inspired by the movie. This week's movie pick is the 2001 movie America's Sweethearts and the challenge was to create a "love card" inspired by the movie.
I have always enjoyed John Cusack ever since high school (wow! that just brought back images of pajamas parties and sleepovers :) This movie also has Hank Azaria who does a number of voices for the Simpsons and always makes me smile with his crazy accents. I created this card inspired by Julia Roberts character Kiki who is always so sweet (perhaps too much so) and her love for "Eddie" emerges from a sweet friendship: so I created a love card with the sentiment: "love is sweet" using the sketch from this week's Taylor's Friday Sketch Challenge #111. The sentiment is from the Love is Sweet stamp set and the square stamp with the sweet roses is from the CreativiTEA stamp set both from Taylored Expressions.
Paper: BG Origins
Ink: Memento Cottage Ivy and Tuxedo Black
Accessories: brown edging trim, ribbon from stash, heart punch from MS, corner rounder
I enjoyed making this card and it was good to get my blogging hands inky again after so long :) I hope you are all doing well. Hop on over to the Cinema Saturday blog to check out more details and play along with us if you have a chance.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! So glad to be back in blogland :)))))
Big hugs to all,
