Color Inspiration #57 - You Lift Me Up!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Kristina has a color inspiration challenge (#57) up on her blog that has such a yummy grouping of colors! I couldn't wait to play along :)

I used the Love Everywhere stamp set that has this super cute little balloon (I popped the heart out with some dimensionals) and the sentiment is from the Cuppie Love Scenes stamp set - both from the newest release from Taylored Expressions. This card was super quick to make and I had so much fun making it :)

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Prism cardstock and Snow White cardstock
Stamps: Love Everywhere and Cuppie Love Scenes from Taylored Expressions
Ink: LadyBug red from Memento
Accessories: Spellbinders, cuttlebug embossing, liquid pearls, Sakura gel pen, chalk for background, ribbon from stash, EK Success punch, pearls from Kaiser, dimensionals, spica glitter pen.

What an awesome grouping of colors. Kristina got her inspiration from the Joel DewberryCollection - you can read more about it on her blog. The mustard color is the basket for the balloon, the saffron color is in the strip and the yellow behind the balloon, the coral is the background for the card (and the red and blue are in the strip of paper and balloon).

I am so happy its Friday! Hope that you have a great weekend!!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!!!
Hugs!

KW Color Inspriation #54 - Miracles

Good Evening Everyone,

As soon as I saw Kristina's challenge for her Color Inspiration Challenge #55 this week - I had to play - I literally dropped the piles of laundry and went right to my craft corner - (and really it wasn't that hard to drop a pile of laundry :)

These colors are so uber fabulous and I adore those shoes!! I love it! The inspiration for these colors come from Kristina's bosses skirt and her bosses shoes - (lovin' those shoes!)

These colors reminded me of the Ambrosia papers from Basic Grey - so I pulled it out and made a quick card because I have still a ton of cleaning to do before we have a houseful of visitors tomorrow (literally 19 minutes - ) and snapped a quick pic - sorry about the quality of this picture - still trying to figure out nighttime photography (will take a better pic in the morning). I love the way that Jenn did the ribbons in this lovely card of hers - and totally wanted to try it! Thanks so much for the inspiration Jen :)

Card Details:
Paper: Basic Grey Ambrosia papers
Ink: Really Rust from SU!, Martha Stewart Grey
Stamps: Faith and Hope from Taylored Expressions
Accessories: Spellbinders, Kaiser pearls, Casa Collection ribbon, Butterfly punch from Martha Stewart, tacky tape

I am sorry that everything is so quick - I would love to play with these colors more if I have a chance. We are going to be having a lot of visitors coming in this weekend for the next two weeks - so I off I go back to those piles of laundry that I keep trying to ignore :) lol!

Thanks so much for visiting my little corner!!
Many hugs to all!!

KW Color Challenge - Believe in Your Dreams

Good Morning Everyone,

I was so psyched to have a chance in Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge #54 this week - look at these awesome colors together! It looks like summer fun! She got the inspiration for these colors from a fabric for a carseat from her friend Adrienne- wow - wish we had a fun carseat covers like this - instead of Graco gray!

For this card - I used Julee's Sketch challenge #90 and her new stamps for this card. I love this set and paper pieced the balloons with different DP. I tried to keep most of the card white and just have bits of color - can you believe its a card sans liquid pearls? I tried to keep it clean and simple. There is some crystal effects on the baskets of the balloons and also some on the clouds along with some coarse glitter.

I had a lot of fun making this card and using up some DP from my stash that seems to actually increase in size and not decrease no matter how much I try to use it up!

Card Details:
Paper: stash (I think the green and blue bits are from K&Company)
Ink: Taken With Teal from SU!
Stamps: Up Up and Away from Verve
Accessories: brads, ribbon, scallop SU punch, circle punch from CM, crystal effects, sponger, coarse glitter

Well, I am about to go plunge into the exciting world of laundry and sunday pick up now - yes - I know - its a very glamorous life! Hope you are all having a fabu sunday!

Thanks for visiting my little corner!
Ciao for now :)

You are a Cutie! ( U-R- A QT!) card

Good Morning Everyone,

I was psyched when I saw where Kristina got her color inspiration challenge from this week! This is my blog buddy Anthonette's little boy Kalino and he has been in love with robots ever since he was 2 - i LOVE this little picture of him and his cute little robot!  Isn't this little guy the cutest! So from this picture, Kristina has picked the five colors: black, red, blue, yellow and white for her Color Inspiration Challenge #53.

We just got home yesterday and I still have to finish unpacking - but when I saw that Kalino was from where the color inspiration came from - I had to play along! Here is a quick card using Kazan's awesome sketch #27 from the sketch challenge blog  2 Sketches 4 U (a big wave to Kazan & Laura!) I love their fun sketches - check out their awesome blog and also you can check out the huge card showdown that is going down in a few days!

I just got a  pack of American Craft thickers and so wanted to use it in my card - I thought the sentimen: You are a cutie would be fun to do with just letters: "u  r  a  QT". I had so much fun creating this card :)

Card Details:
Paper: Basic Grey (Urban Praire (yellow and black), red and white from stash
Stamps: Making Memories (Giggle Kids)
Ink: Stazon Black
Accessories: ric rac, red embroidery floss for stitching, needles, EK success punch, American Crafts Thickers, silver pen, dimensionals, Fiskars circle punch

Thanks so much for visiting my little corner!
Hope you are all having a fabulous Weds!

Ciao for now :)

Feel Better Soon Card!

Hi Everyone,

Kristina has her 52nd Color Inspiration Challenge up - and wow! what a cool pic to draw the inspiration from (the picture comes from her blog reader Traci). I have to say - that I was psyched to see these colors - what a great color combo - it felt so retro urban chique (is that even a term?).

I couldn't wait to play along - and created a feel better soon card using Taylor's Friday Cupcake sketch #68 (which I turned counter-clockwise) and using Taylor's newest cutest release of stamps: Doctor's Orders. I love this set and these two are among my fave images (but they are all my fave :) - who can't resist cupcakes? And for some reason - I just can't get enough of this tissue box - it is just the cutest tissue box :)! - so I created a little row with some actual tissues in them :)

This whole card is an ode to paper piecing.. holy cupcakes - that was a lot of tiny cutting and paper piecing - does this ever happen to you... you are paper piecing something tiny and all of the sudden it drops to the floor - where there are hundreds of tiny scraps! Ack! Okay - that's what happened with these paper pieced pillows... I couldn't find them after I cut them - because they dropped on the floor and were in a sea of tiny scraps (yes, I need to clean my scrap corner floor more often :) but i finally found it - yay! I love the image of this cute little cupcake sitting in bed with a thermometer in his mouth!

Card Details:

Paper: All of it is from my scrap stash (I have been forcing myself to use something from my scrap stash in every card - but yet my scrap stash is still heaped high - how is that possible???
Stamps: Doctor's Orders from Taylored Expressions
Ink: More Mustard
Accessories: Spellbinders Nesties (Blossom), Rhinestones blue, dimensionals, Circle cutters from Creative Memories
Technique: Paper Piecing

I had a lot of fun with these colors - they were challenging and fun! Well, I am off to get some spring cleaning done! Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Thanks so much for visiting my little corner :)

Whose says pink isn't manly ??!

Hi All,

Kristina has her color challenge up and this week has challenged us with the following colors: brown, rose red, mustard yelllow and white. What a great group of colors!

So I pulled out the colors that I had and made a little man card using Taylor's Friday Cupcake Sketch #67 and the stamps from her newest release of stamps called Boys will be Boys. I loved using pink on a Father's Day card - who says a little pink isn't manly?

The sentiment reads: "There's no tie when it comes to you!" . Love the sentiment and the cute ties - all of which are paper pieced. Because it is a man card - and because I have a tendency to get all swirly, girly whirly - I left out some ribbon and tried to keep it simple and clean.

Hope all of you are enjoying a great weekend!

Happy Mother's Day!

Thank you so much for visiting my little corner :)
Ciao for now,
Sankari :)
