Chicks Rule!!!

Hi Everyone,

The Verve Release for this month is so cute and adorable - love the new stamps and dies and today, there is a little after- party going on where each of us picked our favorite card that we had made for the release. I think this one is my favorite card using cute little Chole chickie :)

I created a little scene where Chole the little chickie climbs into her very own hot air balloon decorated with pennants and bling and sails up, up and away into the summer sky :) I created the hot air balloon using the  Classy Label Die from Verve  and an EK success punch label and stamped the sentiment: Chicks Rule in the brand new Charming Oval Die set. Chole, the basket, and the sweet butterfly are from the new stamp set: Chicks Rule and the sweet little whimsey tree is from the Up, Up, and Away stamp set. The clouds are hand drawn and then cut out and sponged and then throughly stickled with some cotton lace stickles :) I love how this turned out - although, I must admit that its definitely one of my more "heavy" cards ;)
Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Chicks Rule and the trees are from Up Up and Away (Verve)
Dies: Classy Label Die and Charming Oval Die Set (A Cut Above by Verve)
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Tangelo, and Bamboo Leaves
Papers: Echo Park: A Walk in the Park
Accessories: clouds are hand drawn and then sponged, bling from Kaiser, liquid pearls, stickles (cotton lace), ribbon from stash, dimensionals, EK sucess label punch, copics, baker's twine, cropadile

I started off by coloring the basket from theChicks Rule  stamp set. I cut it out and sandwiched it with dimensionals onto two other baskets that were cut out and then put sweet little Chole in the basket. The top part of the balloon was created by creating three sandwiched shapes from the Classy Label Die and then adding 4 holes to the 4 sides of the balloon from which I ran some Baker's Twine through and adhered it to the basket. I stamped the sentiment onto theCharming Oval Die set and then adhered it to the EK sucess label die and added a row of pennants to the bottom of it with some bling in the middle. Then I glued it down on the sky (all papers from Walk in the Park, EP) and added a hill and the little mini forest from the whimsey tree from theUp, Up, and Away set.

I really love how this turned out - and it was definitely a long labor of love - but so enjoyable in the process. Please stop by the Verve blog and check out everyone's favorite creation - they are all so bright, cheery and amazing! Together Forever!

HI everyone,

One of our dearest friends became engaged to another dear friend and I am so excited for her wedding coming up later this year! I wanted to send them a congratulations card that was bright and happy and full of our happy wishes :) I used the VLV sketch #3 from January that Teresa had created for this card and used the Up, Up and Away stamp set with the sentiment: Together for Ever from the Love Notes stamp set from Verve stamps and used one of the sweet little hearts from this stamp set along with the heart from the Text Objects stamp set from Verve. I love all of the balloons from the Up, Up and Away stamp set and its always hard to decide which one to use - but I used the circle one because then I could paper piece it with one of the DP's from the MME Love Me Do papers. I added a little heart from the Love Notes stamp set and added a little glitter to it and put it on the center of the balloon.
Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Up, Up and Away stamp set, Love Notes stamp set from Verve (sentiment) and stitched heart from the Text Objects stamp set from Verve.
Paper: MME Love Me Do papers and PTI cardstock
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black and Ladybug Red ink
Accessories: liquid pearls, bling, dimensionals, baker's twine, dimensionals, chunky glitter and corner chomper

I love this sentiment "together forever" and I love all the different fonts in the Love Notes stamp set. I stamped the sentiment and created a little tag by chomping some corners and punching a hole that I added some twine too and attached to the ribbon. I finished it off with some bling, liquid pearl dots and some glitter on the clouds. I really had fun putting this card together and the best part will be to mail it to them (hopefully, I can actually get it in the mail before they get married - I am notoriously bad for making cards and never sending them out - so hopefully on monday - I can get to the post office and actually mail it off!)

Thanks so much for stopping by today - also - please be sure to stop by the Verve blog for more Verve-y goodness - and the SCS Verve forum for all the new March sketches!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Big hugs,
Sankari :)

KW Color Challenge - Believe in Your Dreams

Good Morning Everyone,

I was so psyched to have a chance in Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge #54 this week - look at these awesome colors together! It looks like summer fun! She got the inspiration for these colors from a fabric for a carseat from her friend Adrienne- wow - wish we had a fun carseat covers like this - instead of Graco gray!

For this card - I used Julee's Sketch challenge #90 and her new stamps for this card. I love this set and paper pieced the balloons with different DP. I tried to keep most of the card white and just have bits of color - can you believe its a card sans liquid pearls? I tried to keep it clean and simple. There is some crystal effects on the baskets of the balloons and also some on the clouds along with some coarse glitter.

I had a lot of fun making this card and using up some DP from my stash that seems to actually increase in size and not decrease no matter how much I try to use it up!

Card Details:
Paper: stash (I think the green and blue bits are from K&Company)
Ink: Taken With Teal from SU!
Stamps: Up Up and Away from Verve
Accessories: brads, ribbon, scallop SU punch, circle punch from CM, crystal effects, sponger, coarse glitter

Well, I am about to go plunge into the exciting world of laundry and sunday pick up now - yes - I know - its a very glamorous life! Hope you are all having a fabu sunday!

Thanks for visiting my little corner!
Ciao for now :)

2 Sketches 4 You - Laura's Sketch #27 - Up Up and Away!

Hi Everyone,

I am so excited that I had a chance today to play along with Laura and Kazan and the awesome DT over at 2 Sketches 4 You! This week, Laura and Kazan are beginning the celebration of their anniversary and have started the Ultimate Card Showdown with Laura's Sketch #27. For more details about the Ultimate Card Showdown, check out this post.

I flipped Laura's Sketch 180 degree's so that it was kind of upside down and made a fun little graduation card :) Our cousin's niece is graduating next week and so I wanted to make a card for her graduation party. I thought the sentiment Up, up and Away, was perfect for a highschool grad about to enter the journey of going to college!

I loved stamping with these balloons - all of which were paper pieced and sponged and then popped onto dimensionals and blinged up a little. the baskets were also paper pieced as was the tree.

Card Details:
Paper: Patterned paper from Taylored Expressions
Stamps: Up Up and Away from Verve
Ink: Martha brown, Riding Hood Red from SU!
Accessories: Bling, dimensionals, ribbon from stash, corner rounder and sponger.

I can't wait to mail out her little grad package on monday! I always love this busy time of year - and after having gone to two grad parties already this week - I feel that these graduation ceremonies have given me a chance to look within and see what all I have done since my graduation from highschool and college and all the things I have already crossed of my list of things to do, all the things still remaining and all the new lists that I am making :)

Congratulations Laura and Kazan on your first anniversary of your sketch challenge blog!!! You have managed to create such an amazing community around the world, that come together every Monday to get their creative juices flowing! Thank you for everything that you do! Its been so much fun to play along with your awesome sketches and see your inspiring works of art!!!

And thank you for coming over for a visit to my little corner :)
Happy Weekend!
Hugs :)
Sankari :)
