Gina K Previews and Blog Hop!

Happy monday Everyone!

Its sneak peek time over at Gina K. and you might have seen a peek at some of the new sets that were peeked yesterday (so beautiful!) and today, we are showing you some more sneak peeks from the stamp sets: you seen all of the wonderful preview: Happy Spring stamp set and By Your Side stamp set by Aslea Hopkins.

The stamp set that is part of the Card Kit this month is the Happy Spring stamp set! This month there is a change in the card kit where each kit will receive the Happy Spring stamp set and instruction sheet along with 4 sheets of pure luxury cardstock, 1 sheet of exclusive patterned paper with 4 different designs, 1 yard of ribbon and brads (the cardstock will not be precut). The card below uses the digi paper that will be available through GinaK. and I have to say that I love the fact that it is already measured to the A2 size - so all you have to do is print and cut :).

The Happy Spring stamp set comes with such sweet sentiments and images and I love this image of the well and the water coming from it - I couldn't help pair it up with the sunny sentiment: "Hey Sunshine" :)

The second card is from the stamp set that is being sneaked peek is from the "By Your Side" stamp set that is illustrated Aslea Hopkins. I LOVE the images in this set, especially the sweet little Koi fishes - and the sweet sentiment: By Your Side Always:
I used the pure luxury papers for this card and I love how heavy it is to hold up my super layered koi pond :). Here is a closer look at the Koi pond (after coloring it in, I popped up a sheet of embossed acetate so that it would reflect some shadows into the "pond" :
I absolutely loved working with these darling stamps and can't wait to ink them all up :)

Tonight, we are having a blog hop that is featuring creations from these two stamp sets and I know that these ladies are going to blow you away with their gorgeous creations!!!

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #70 - Dear Frankie

Good Morning Everyone!! Every Saturday over at the Cinema Saturday blog (ps - I can't believe this is our 70th challenge already!) Brooke and I pick a movie from which to create a card! This week the movie that we picked is the little known gem: Dear Frankie! As much as we love the big blockbusters, we also love featuring movies that might not be that famous but are just amazing! If you haven't seen this movie - you MUST! It is just a gem of a movie! Seriously - this is one of the most heartwarming movies that we have both seen - you will fall in love with it! The challenge requirement for this movie is to use a little bit of a map is because that is how Frankie (the little boy) keeps track of his father's voyages. I can't express enough - how beautiful of a movie this is --- it is full of love stories (the love between a mother for her daughter, the fierce love of a mother for her child, the love that grows between two strangers and the love of a "father" for his son) - its just beautiful and I know you will love it!

For my card today, I used the sketch that the beautiful Susanna Boyd has created for Paper Craft Planet (keyword SK031310) andd used the lovely color challenge (with the requirement for cloth) from the uber fab Embellish magazine. I loved how these colors came together and I love how Frankie kept a map and tried to find his dad in everything through all of his journeys in the letters that he received. It was so sweet to see the way he tracked him and from that I came with the inspiration for this card of a trail of hearts over the Scottish seas (errr.... Lochs).

I used the Wood Stamper that is 2-3/8" which comes with a Bonus 25pt Font & Center to create the sentiment "I'd Follow You Anywhere" and I think that is one of the main reasons that I fell in love with the Just Rite stamp system is because I could create my own sentiments - gotta love that flexibility!... Frankie gets very attached to his "father" and it is just the sweetest thing to see the connection between those two! (Gerard Butler is in this movie (before he became super famous) and I adore the interaction between him and Frankie - so sweet! I remembered loving it the first time I saw it but honestly, after having children - it pulls at my heart strings even more - and I totally relate to how fiercely Lizzie protects her son Frankie and only wants the best for him. Seriously, even more in love with it :)

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Prism cardstock in the colors: Intense Kiwi and Island Mist Dark and paper is from a map of Sweden that I printed out :)
Inks: Memento Aquamarine and Chalkbox Yellow Ochre
Accessories: white gel pen, heart punch, buttons from Whirligig, MS heart punch, dimensionals, scorpal, spellbinders, kraft, ribbon from stash, felt accent.

The bond that Frankie has with his "dad" and the way he observes things and puts things together is beyond sweet... he would follow him anywhere. The challenge from Embellish called for cloth - my "cloth requirement" is the felt accent over the ribbon. I absoulutely loved this movie and highly recommend it! Hop on over to the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge blog to find out more details! We would love for you to play along!

Thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs!

Joyeux Noel!

Good Morning Everyone!
I am so excited its Friday :) Yipee! Every Friday, at the Christmas Stamping All Year Long Blog, we have a different challenge to help get the holiday mojo lasting through the year, so that its not a mad dash of stressful cardmaking towards the end of the year :) This year, Patty has come up with a wonderful challenge: to create a card that is "out of the box" or basically to create a card that can be of any shape other than the regular A2 card that we all are used to.

I made a circle card using the lovely and versatile stamps from Just Rite Stampers, where you can mix and match your borders and sentiments. I created this stamp set from the Merry Little Christmas Borders & Centers Round 1-5/8" and I love the sentiment: "Joyeux Noel" :)

Card Ingredients:
Paper: Prism cardstock, DP from GCD studios
Stamps: Merry Little Christmas Borders & Centers Round 1-5/8" from Just Rite Stampers
Inks: Memento Tuxedo black and Ladybug Red
Accessories: spellbinders, liquid pearls, MS punch, silk ribbon, bling from Want2Scrap

I had so much fun making this festive card - although I have to say that as the snow starts to melt and the weather starts to get warmer, I might have to put on some holiday music as I make my Friday holiday cards :) And on that note, I leave you with the song: "Dashing thru the snow, on a one horse open sleigh......."

Check out the lovely creations that the wonderful DT has created for this Shape Challenge!
Happy Friday and thanks for stopping by!
Big hugs!
Sankari :)

Skipping Stones Design - Tuesday Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone,

Good Morning everyone! Every tuesday over at Skipping Stones Design there is a wonderful sketch to play along with and today , Jami Bova has this beautiful sketch for us to create with and I had so much fun using this sketch with the Chick Chat stamp set that will be released a little bit later this month!

I love all the sentiments in this set - they are just hilarious! I used the sentiment "Long time no Chick Chat" (ha! so cute!) and paired it with some CC Material girl DP with just a little bit of bling :)

Please stop by the Skipping Stones Design blog for a basketful of inspiration with this gorgeous sketch!
I hope you don't mind if I share a couple of pictures that I took from this weekend. I had a chance this weekend to meet some amazing ladies at the Copics Class in Des Moines, which was taught by the wonderful Lori Craig and Sharon Harnist.
And along with them in the class were Taylor VanBruggen, Jami Sibley and Tori Wild :) Isn't this such a cute picture of Jami and Taylor:
Here is a picture of me and Tori (we both met online awhile ago when we played Kristina's Color Challenges and we were excited that we were both from Iowa!
We finally got to meet this weekend and it was fun to sit next to her and giggle as we learned how to copic-ify a picture :) We got a chance to hang out at the delicious Jade Garden restaurant in Ankeny - (an actual sit down meal that was kids free!) and she is just the sweetest! I love her positive energy, her bubbly personality and her copic skillz are inspiring!
Here is a picture of all of us together - (my eyes were kinda closed :) it was a fun filled class! :) As much as I love shopping at Taylored Expressions online ;) It was definitely way more fun to do that with these wonderful ladies :) Here is the mural on the way to Taylor's store:
And here is a picture of me and Taylor -
she is just adorable, inspiring and so much fun to be with!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hope your day is filled with sunshine :)
Hugs galore :)

Verve Release Spring Fling Blog HOP!!!

Welcome Everyone to the Spring Fling Blop Hop where we are partying it up as Julee releases 4 AMAZING stamp sets and 5 Plain Janes over at a slice of Paradise (also known as the Verve Stamps store :). I just wanted to share some creations for you :) Some of them you might have already seen over at the party over at Splitcoast - but if not here are some creations from Julee's amazing new release - SERIOUSLY - these are all must have sets (not to enable or anything :) but they are simply pure sunshine goodness!!!

I have been wanting some sunshine stamps for SUCH a long time (i love sunshine - i even threw it in my blog name :))) and the sunshine stamps that Julee created are amazing!!! Here is one from my new favorite stamp set: Let it Shine: (I tore off some brown cardstock to create mountains and sponged the clouds with some blue chalk ink:)

I LOVE the feeling of this set - it is FILLED with the perfect-est sunshiney sentiments! Here is another card made with both the Let it Shine stamp set and the Feel the sun stamp set (where the sentiment is from!! I love this sentiment! It is such a great reminder to do that everytday and I thought it paired really nicely with the Joy Ride papers from Cosmo Cricket :)
Here is a card that I made using the Easter Joy Stamp set :) I loved these papers from Kaiser and although I usually go for bright and "loud" colors :) I had to get them and thought that they paired so nicely with this gorgeous stamp set of Julee's!
This next card is made with the sketch that Amy Sheffer designed for Challenge #2 over at the Verve blog - and I paired it up with this beautiful stamp set called: This is totally a must have birthday set - it has all kinds of Happy Birthday greetings in different styled fonts! And this cake is just divine! It was really hard to concentrate while I was coloring it because all I wanted was cake!!

Speaking of Challenges - Julee has 5 Challenges going on over at the Verve blog - and just by playing along - you can win some of this sunshiney Verve-y goodness!!! Here are the challenges:

Challenge #4 Hostess: Susan - Tag it (create a tag, or two or 5 :)
Challenge #5 - Hostess: Sankari (hey, wait - that's me!) Go Green, ReDo, ReCycyle, ReUse!

In case you missed it on the Verve blog today, my Challenge #5 is to "Go Green" for Spring by Recycling, Re-Using or Re-Furbishing something that you already have in your house and bring new life into them :) For my "Re-Cycle and Re-Use" project, I decided to give this birdhouse candleholder some spring cleaning love :). I repainted it and using the colors in Jackie's challenge #3 and used my new favorite stamp set :) Let it Shine to create the sun borders and for the sentiment (I stamped the sun on some of the Origins paper by BG and then cut them out to create a border for either side of the tree house - you know how I love to cut paper :D

I stamped the sentiment: "Let it Shine" on the inside and the sentiment: "Sunshine and Smiles"on the tag for Susan's Challenge #4. I love putting a candle in it now - so that even in the dark - there is a little bit of that sunshine shining through, which always makes me smile :)

I cut out some flowers from the Feel the Sun stamp set around the fence on the bottom as part of Lynda's Challenge #1 on using some flowers in your creation:

I loved creating this project and love seeing this little candleholder all bright and sparkley with some Verve love all over it :) We would love for you to play along with us for all of these challenges!!!

Are you ready for MORE Verve-y goodness!!??!!

Well, next up on the hop is the AMAZING AMY SHEFFER!!!!!! I know you don't want to miss Amy's amazing creations!!!! I am off to hop too!!

RELEASE DAY At Taylored Expressions!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

Its release day over at Taylored Expressions! YAY! Today marks the one year anniversary of the start of the Whimsical Wishes stamp line which is designed by the talented Nancy McKinney! Nancy's illustrations are amazing and always capture the sweetness and the whimsy all together. Nancy has designed 4 digital stamp images that will be given away to anyone who places an order during the anniversary weekend!!!! Check out these beautiful images:

These images are perfect for each season and today, I am showing you the stamp image: Wonder of Winter - which is just so super sweet!

I wanted to show how easy it is to use this image to create holiday cards that you can mass produce easily! I printed out this image four times and colored it in photoshop (you can print it out and color it by hand or on the computer). I kept everything SUPER simple so that I could easily mass produce this - isn't this cardinal sooo lovely :)
Here is a closer peek at the cards:
I think it took about a half hour to assemble these cards - and that made me so happy :) I can't wait to make more so that I don't feel too stressed around the holidays :)

Taylor is also offering a full sheet of AMAZING designs - the Egg-stra Special download sheet that coordinate with the egg Nesties (but its very easy to cut out if you don't have it). I loved the sweetness of these images and printed out a sheet of four of these eggs and paired it up with the Key Ingredients of February to create this SPring has Sprung gift card set:

Here is a close up of the cards in this set: I love the pairing of the turquoise and black :)
I couldn't stop with the eggs - so I printed out a few more eggs (colored them in photoshop) and cut them out to create this little wee card: Spring has Sprung using sweet little embellishments from the Spring Sampler that Taylor has in the store filled with embellies, ribbon and flowers and treat holders for all of your spring cardmaking needs :)

This Spring Sampler (cardstock, ribbons, etc.) is on SALE at the store and you don't want to miss stopping by the Taylored Expressions store today!!! Taylor has a ton of new Spellbinders in along with **new Basic Grey, Green at Heart (paper and embellishments) and the new Cosmo Cricket {heart} :).

Also to celebrate the anniversary of Whimsical Wishes stamp line, Taylor has a 25% SALE on the amazing (and one of my FAVE) stamp sets: Branching Out and Branching out Coordinateswhich was the first two sets released in this line (since these two sets were part of the Charitable Giving Tree program - they will need to be trimmed).

There are so many egg-cellent spring-alicious creations that the Baker's Dozen Design Team has created today, they are simply amazing! Check out these beautiful sneak peeks!

and our wonderful guest designer this month is THE amazing Amy Sheffer!!!
Nancy McKinney ** our wonderful TE Illustrator!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks - Day 2

Good Morning Everyone,

Welcome to Day 2 of sneak peeks from Taylored Expressions where today we are showing you sneak peeks from two stamps sets that Tyalor will be releasing on Friday 8am PST called: Easter Blessings and Favorite Peeps - just in time for all your Spring and Easter cardmaking joy! Along with these stamp sets, Taylor is also releasing the Easter Key Ingredients kit which makes it super easy to crank out all your Easter cards (includes, card stock, coordinating DP, ribbon, buttons and Paper Pretties (mini flowers).

Cards from the Easter Blessings Stamp Set
This stamp set is part of the Lasting Impressions stamp line that has sentiments and images of faith and I made these two cards for my sweet SILs and the colors of the cards reminded me of them. The first one is made using a cathedral shaped template and uses everything from the Easter Key Ingredients Kit:

I love this image with the swirlies around the cross and added Taylor's Tiny Twinkles to them and the only thing that i used from the Easter Key Ingredients for this card were the Paper Pretties (the mini flowers - aren't they so cute?!)

These stamps just make it so simple and elegant to create Easter cards that inspire. I love the fonts and the beautiful swirls and whirls - just so elegant and lovely.

Cards from the stamp set: My Favorite Peeps:

I absolutely LOVED the illustrations that Nancy has created for this sweeeeet stamp set - the images and sentiments and fonts are just beautiful!!! I had so much fun creating the cards that it was actually hard to stop :) There are a TON of sentiments and images and SO many possibilities in this gorgeous stamp set! This first card uses Taylor's Friday Sketch Challenge #102 and I flipped it around horizontally to create this card with the matching box (template by Cambria Turnbrow)
There were more eggs around when I started and all I will say, is that its MIGHTY hard to not gobble up these cute little eggs :) For this second and third card - I LOVED the egg that is in this stamp set because it has so much fun to color! For this card - I stamped three eggs and colored them differently and then cut out the center of the card and then stamped these cute little chickies (I masked it off so they would appear 3 individual cheeps) and then inserted it inside the cut out part:
I couldn't stop with the cute egg and so I stamped and colored another one and then "cracked" it open by cutting a zig zag and then popped out a cute little chickie from the top :) I LOVE this sentiment!
There are so many egg-cellent creations that the Baker's Dozen Design Team has created today, they are simply amazing! Check out these beautiful sneak peeks!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!!!
Please stop by tomorrow for some RELEASE day yumminesss!!!!
Happy Thursday!

Big hugs,
Sankari :)

Sneak Peeks from Taylored Expressions - Day 1

Good Morning Everyone!!

I am so excited!! There are a lot of things in this post - so I hope you grab a cup of coffee or fave beverage for some exciting new yumminess :) Guess what this week is? Its release week over at Taylored Expressions (all stamp sets will be available for purchase at the Taylored Expressions Store on Friday at 8am PST) and its also the start of a new quarter, which means that this release, Taylor will be releasing a new stamp for the Taylored Expressions Charitable Giving Tree, which donates partial proceeds from the sales of a special stamp set to a different charity each quarter!

I am so excited about the stamp set that will be the Charitable TE stamp set - it is awesome - its called "You're My Hero" and it is SUCH a great stamp set filled with different guitars, awesome sentiments in rockin' fonts, beautiful graphics that is perfect to have for all adults, teens, tweens and in betweens :) Its perfect for scrapping your family doing guitar hero, for a quick cheer up card for a teen with the sentiment ("you rock"), to creating boy cards that are "cool" to just a fun rocking card :)

The inspiration of this stamp set was Darrin Zimmerman. He was a brave 10 year old little boy, who was Taylor's neighbor. Darrin and his family had been battling cancer and sadly, last fall, Darrin passed away. He loved music and this stamp set was inspired by him and $7 of the sale from each of the stamp sets sold goes to CureSearch which "unites the world's largest childhood cancer research organization, the Children's oncology Group, and the National Cancer Foundation through their mission to cure childhood cancer." Because this set is part of the charitable program, it will need to be trimmed but is of the same deeply etched rubber of all other TE stamps. I feel so am so happy to be part of this Charitable giving program and love that this stamp set supports this amazing organization and all of the children who are battling something that takes away that precious childhood. Please read all about Darrin and the inspiration behind this stamp set on Taylor's post today.

I simply LOVED creating cards from this set and the Rock Star Key ingredients that Taylor has assembled for this set is truly rocking! This package of Key Ingredients comes with a ton of cardstock, awesome DP called Teen Angst, 5 yeards of coordinated ribbons, a metal sheet, coordinated sugary brads and awesome tages (that's a whole lot of yumminess) especially for those "way cool" teens/tweens in your life!

Project #1 - You Rock (inspired by the iPod dancers :)
I always loved those iPod commercials where all the people are white or black silhouettes and are dancing to bright colored paper. So I was excited to create a card using that idea and cut out some images from the Rock Star Key Ingredients papers and decorated the bottom of the card with it:
Card Ingredients:
Paper: Rock Star Key Ingredients
Stamps
: You're my Hero stamp set from Taylored Expressions
Ink
: Memento Tuxedo Black and Stazon White
Accessories
: glaze pens from Sakura,
wave cutter from CM, corner rounder, clear and white EP, star punch from CM

Project #2 - You Rock
I LOVE all of the guitars in this set and used the lovely colors that the ladies picked out from the Color Throwdown this week. I cut and colored out the guitars and popped them out in dimensionals. The edge was corner chomped and then I dotted a half circle around the bottom and then alternated stitching with some embroidery thread and finished it off with a little bit of glaze on the guitars for that shiny rockstar look :)

Card Ingredients:
Paper
: Rock Star Key Ingredients
Stamps: You're my Hearo stamp set from Taylored Expressions
Ink
: Memento Ladybug red and Tuxedo black
Accessories: corner rounder
, copics, glaze, embroidery thread, sakura glaze pen, dimensionals

Project #3 - Rock Star
I love all the different items in the Key Ingredients set - and had fun playing around with the tags and this super cool mesh thread! (the rhinestones are not from the KI) I LOVED giving some shimmer and shine with some gold EP and adding a glaze to the silhouette :)

Project #4 - You're My RockStar!
I masked off the sentiment "You're my hero" to create this sentiment: "You're My RockStar" :) This is a card for my little baby boy - who loves to play Air Guitar :) I drew out this guitar and then cut it out with one of the Key iNgredients papers and created the strings with some dental floss (yes, you read that right :))) lol! I loved making this card - it was so much fun and I ADORE these papers!
Please check out these amazing creations from the Rock STAR Design Team and a huge welcome to Carolina and Jeanie who join us at the Baker's Dozen Design Team, they are simply amazing! Check out these rockin' sneak peeks!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!!! Please stop by tomorrow as we show you MORE yumminess coming up tomorrow!!! :)))

Sankari :)
