Taylored Expressions November Release Day: Wine Charms and Pockets & Pages

Hi Everyone

Today is RELEASE day over at Taylored Expressions!!! Woohoo!!! There are so many super awesome amazing dies and stamps that will be released in the TE store today!

For my projects today, I am starting off with a card that I made using the super cute Witty Wine Quotes stamp set with a pennant of wine charms created using the Wine Charms dies from Taylored Expressions :) I love this sentiment: "Nothing is better than a glass of wine... except maybe two!" haha! I have so many friends who are lovers of some fine wine and I can already see the smile on their faces in seeing this card :)

I die cut it with some blue and red card stock and then strung it up with some twine. I love all these sweet wine charm dies - especially that cute cute corkscrew die! How adorable! Here is a close up of the Wine Pennant:

Card Ingredients:
Stamp Set:
Witty WIne Quotes from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Ladybug Red
Paper: Simple Stories
Accessories: Wine Charms dies from Taylored Expressions, Label 7 Stacklets fromTE, sponger, twine, foam

For my second project, I started a scrapbook page for my son using some of the Pockets & Pages Essentials - my new favorite line of essential craft booking (yes! that's my new word of creation! haha!) I started one for my daughter and also wanted to start of for my little man (who will always be my wee baby). I took these pictures of him a few weeks ago on the way to the car - can I just say that a 1 minute walk from the house to the car usually takes 7 minutes because he is always finding caterpillars, grass hoppers, crickets, rollypollies, frogs - as well as other disgusting interesting creepy crawlies to put into his pocket. I am constantly asking him to please put the "caterpillargrasshopperscricketsrollypolliesfrogs" down and please come inside the car. But on this day, I just had to take a moment to enjoy his enjoyment of holding this caterpillar he found (he wanted to name him Henry). He was so gentle with this little caterpillar... err Henry... and I had a little heart melty moment watching his happiness. Here is my little page layout of these moments:

I used the papers from Echo Park: All About A Boy for my layout - I used the Large Scallop Border dies to create a border above and below the layout (6x8 page). I used the tab die from the Pages and Pockets - Essentials 4x6  and I cut the pictures and black mat using the Pages and Pockets - Essentials 3x4. Here is a close up of the tab and journaling:

I also used the Bars of the Year to die cut the month October to put on one of the tabs and used the Bottled Up die to create a little banner on side. I created the little pocket using the pocket die from the Pages and Pockets - Essentials 4x4 - you can put anything in that pocket, but I chose to just had a heart to the front:

Here is another view of the layout without the notebook:

Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peeks: Falling for You and Chalkboard Elements 2

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the third day of the sneak peeks from Taylored Expressions!! YAY! Tomorrow is the release of all the new dies and stamps and fun-ness!!

Today I have two quick projects to show you - the first one is called Falling For You and was originally a Key Ingredients Kit Exclusive that came with a set of coordinating dies and now will be available for general release! For my project today, I created a little mini scene using the little wheelbarrow full of leaves that I copically colored. I created a little panel of grass and then cut out a border using the Large Border Scallop die :

I love all the sentiments and images in this stamp set - so much fun for any season! Here is a close up of all the leaves - so much fun to color and cut them out and then layer them together:

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Falling For You from Taylored Expressions
Inks:Memento Tuxedo Black and Ladybug Red
Accessories: Large Scallop border die, Circle Nestabilities, foam dimensionals, copics, Grass Punch from MS, Orange Gingham ribbon

For my second project, I used the awesome new Chalkboard Elements 2 stamp set (which coordinates with the Chalkboard Elements stamp set). I was soooo excited to make this card for two reasons - first I have a confession to make - I have never made a chalkboard card... yes, its true.... never ever never ever.... always wanted to - but always felt completely overwhelmed because it seemed too hard. But after using the this stamp set, I see that it is absolutely easy, fun and such a fun look!

I stamped the sentiments on Choice Black Cardstock with VersaMark and then embossed it with some white embossing powder and then embossed the filigree with clear polysparkle embossing powder and then sponged some white ink around the cardstock. I created a little pennant using the new to be released Label it dies and then popped some stars and hearts over the pennants:
I added some stitches with my Project Life pen around the card and then found this fun linen ribbon to tie around the card - here is another view of the card
Card Ingredients:
Stamp set: Chalkboard Elements 2 from Taylored Expressions
Papers: Simple Stories, Taylored Expressions Choice Black and Bazzil Cardstock
Inks: Memento (Tuxedo Black, LadybugRed, Dandelion inks), White Embossing Powder and VersaMark
Accessories: Label It Dies (TE) made into Pennants, Corner Chomper, foam dimensionals, ribbon from stash, Project Life Pen, Twine

Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peeks: Wine Journal and Put your Records on

HI Everyone!

Welcome to the second day of the Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks - where today we are continuing to showcase all the new stamp sets and dies that will be released on Thursday!

Today for my first project, I am showcasing a Wine Journal Download that will be available from TE and combined it with the Wine A Little stamp set (isn't that a great title?!!). For my project, I created a journal using my Cinch! I haven't made a notebook in awhile and after making this notebook, I remembered how easy it was to make notebooks using my Cinch - can't wait to make more!! So a few things about the Wine Journal - this is something that can be downloaded and then printed out at home. Two journal pages will appear on a sheet of 8.5 x 11 of paper. I cut mine in half at 5.5" and then created a little journal using my Cinch (Trimming the cardboard to 6 x 8"). Here is how it looks :

I love this new stamp set called Wine A Little - Perfect for creating Wine Journals or for creating Thank You cards for hostesses - SO so so so many possibilities!!! I used the Wine Journal sentiment from this stamp set and then stamped some of the vines in pale green ink around it and used then new Label Stacklets 7 to cut it out. I added a little bit of gloss to it for a bit of sheen:
I also used the new to be released Wine and Dine dies to create a little border of wine bottles and glasses at the bottom of the journal. I covered it with gloss and then a layer of stickles. I added a little stamped grape leaf to the top right corner and then some bling and ribbon to the side - Here are more views of the different aspects of the Journal:

And here is what the journal looks like on the inside - Isn't it awesome - just perfect for all those serious wine lovers in your life - perfect and practical and unique gift! I made this for a dear cousin and friend who loves some good wine - the best part is that she makes hand crafted items and I am excited to give her a handcrafted item for Christmas! Check out the inside of the journal:

And here is a side view of the journal. I think I printed about 25 sheets - each sheet containing 2 pages - so this journal has 50 pages! That's alot of wine sampling!! Cheers!

Wine Journal Ingredients:
Stamps: Wine a Little stamp set from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Tangelo and Rich Cocoa
Papers: Bazzill brown and green cardstock with stash DP
Accessories: Wine & Dine dies from TE, Label Stacklets 7 from TE, EK success scalloped punch, bling, stickles, gloss and ribbon from stash
Journal: 6 x 8 cardboard, The Cinch, Wire Cutters, Spiral notebook

For my second project, I used one of my favorite new stamp sets; Rock My World - OMGOSh SUCH cool sentiments and iamges - I used the Simple Stories- Vintage Bliss to create my card and added musical notes from the Just A Note dies: I added the sentiment from the same Wine A Little stamp set - and NOW, I have her song stuck in my head: "Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song....."

"Girl, put your records on - tell me your favorite song..." I absoutely looked making this card - there are so so so many things that changes - that were fun to make. I paper pieced the phonograph and then added some glaze and bling to the sides:

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Rock My World stamp set from Taylored Expressions
Inks: Memento Bahama Blue and Tuxedo Black
Papers: Simple Stories: Vintage Bliss, Choice White Cardstock

If you are coming over from the sweet and talented blog of Karen,  then you are at the right place! For my card today, I used two of my favorite stamp sets: Feel the Sun which is where this gorgeous sentiment is from: "To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides." David Viscott and the sweet sun is from the stamp set: Let It Shine both from Verve stamps.

I absolutely love this sentiment - and the more you reflect on it - the more it sings to your soul - so so so true! That warm feeling you have in loving and in feel loved is just like basking in sunlight and having it turn on inside your body. Such a lovely quote - Julee always knows how to put fonts and sentiments together! I used the sketch from this week's Mojo Monday #318 - (please check it out - there is a contest this week!!!) and here is what I came up with putting all these elements together:

Stamps: Feel the Sun , Let It Shine from Verve stamps
Inks: Teal Zeal and Tuxedo Black from Memento Inks

Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peeks: Pockets & Pages

 HI Everyone!

Welcome to the November Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek week! Woohoooo!!! This month we are welcoming a new line to Taylored Expressions called: Pockets and Pages! This line works perfectly with all the different scrapbooking products that are out there whether you are into pocket scrapbooking or just regular scrapbooking - and works perfectly with cardmaking as well!!

So here is my confession - I have been wanting to do a Project Life kind of scrapbook for SO long now - BUT, every time I want to get started - I would get so overwhelmed with all the different products that are out there and just kind of freeze. So I was so excited that Taylored Expressions was going to carry their own Pockets & Pages Line and took the plunge in starting pocket scrapbooking!

If you are a pocket scrapbooker you are going to love all the new products that fit right in and make it super easy to scrapbook! If you are brand new to scrapbooking-pocket style here are some tips to help you get started that I have found out in this process:

  1. Figure out what you want to scrapbook - for example, I decided to have two scrapbooks - one for my daughter and one for my son - this then helped me get my photos in order and start to arrange and then have them printed out
  2. Size: Pick an album size that works for you - a 12x12 size or a smaller 6x8 - I liked the smaller size because I  thought it might be a nice way to ease my self into pocket scrapbooking and then move onto bigger sizes
  3. Pick out some fun papers - either you can use the same paper line throughout the album or just for some of the pages
  4. Do you want to scrap weekly or monthly or randomly? I decided to scrap bi-monthly and pull up the pictures that really stood out as fun from that month
  5. Get ready to have fun pocket scrapbooking!
I started out with scrapbooking a page for my daughter - here is a two page spread using the 6x8 albums - I love that they come with different size pockets to make scrapbooking - perfect of larger pictures or more journaling .... or both! I decided to scrapbook some pics from this last October - and also journaled on the side (i am loving using the Project Life Journaling Pens!)

Here is a view of one of the pages - there are 4 pockets in this page and I used the new P&P Essentials 3x4 dies to create each of the pockets - makes a perfect background and mat for scrapbooking and comes with a fun arrow and speech bubble. I also used the new stamp set: Pockets and Pages InstaFun (which comes with a fun camera die! to create some instafun with my photos :)

My DD went shopping at Target - Tar-jhay - and she had to try on some fun glasses - it was so cute to see her in them and I had to snap a pic - she has so much sass and fun - and I love our mother-daughter date nights:

Here is a picture of the camera that comes with the Pockets & Pages InstaFun stamp set - I LOVE this fun camera - and stamped the sentiment InstaLove in the center and used the soon to be released Sweet & Simple Apha Lower dies to create the word: Cutie (I love the toothless grin of my 24-7 cutie pie :)

Here is a pic of the opposite page - I loved documenting this milestone - my daughter is now riding WITHOUT training wheels!! Talk about being such a big girl!!! I used the new Pockets &Pages Bubble Out die to create a space for me to write and journal about her accomplishments and I also used the P&P Essentials 4x4 to create the pocket s and the Bars of the Year to create the die: October for the bottom of the page - love how this turned out!!
Scrapbook Page Ingredients: Stamp set: Pockets & Pages InstaFUn stamp set from TE Inks: Memento: Ladybug Red and Dandelion inks Paper: Bazzil cardstock, TE Choice Black card stock and Simple Stories Taylored dies: Sweet And Simple Alpha Lower, Pockets and Pages Essentials 3x4, Pockets and Pages Essentials 4x6, Bars of the Year die, Pockets and Pages Bubble Out Accessories: ribbon, corner rounder

I can't wait to see all the lovely creations from the DT as they showcase all the different ways to use the Pockets & Pages embellishments and dies! SO exciting!! Please hop over with me and check them out here:

Big hugs,
Sankari :)
