October Diva Inspirations Blog Hop

Diva Inspirations Blog Hop
Hi Everyone!

Today Over at the Verve Blog - Julee is kicking off the month of October and Mojo Monday Madness with the October Diva Inspirations Blog Hop! Today we are all getting some Vervey ink on our fingers and I KNOW that this hop will filled with inspiration - just look at the blog roll - holy moly - talk about crafty divas!!  For today's project, I was just drawn to the Tall Oaks stamp set -(which by the way is on sale right now!!!) seriously, this might be my favorite fall set (wait, they all are!!!!) and I still had some strips of paper from the last paper pumpkin I made a few days ago, so I thought I would keep going and create more pumpkins! (Thanks to Michelle for this great idea when I walked into our scrapbook store - yay!)

I wanted to make some to give to the kids teachers and my friends at work - and I used the beautiful (and so perfectly sized font) sentiment from the Tall Oaks stamp set  that says: "Give Thanks" - so perfect for this season of giving thanks for all the beauty around us. I created little tags for my pumpkins by using the Tagged Rectangle Die from Verve Stamps (A Cut Above dies). I used a nestie for the inside shape and pumched out circles that I sponged and stamped the sentiment onto and popped it up over the tag.

I love this sweet acorn image in the stamp set - I stamped 5 of them and colored them with copics and cut them out and popped them up in the corner of the sentiment. I punched a whole at the top of the tagged rectangle die and then added eyelets to the top so that it would be sturdy when attached twine through it - this tag I would across the stalk and glued it to one side of the pumpkin: Here is a picture of the 5 paper pumpkins that I created:

And here is a picture of one of the individual pumpkins: To make the pumpkins, I cut 1" strips of DP (I used the kind that had a design on both sides so that you can see the design on the inside of the pumpkin) and the attached them together at the top with a brad. They were then fanned out to create a circle and then I pulled the strips down into a circle and attached with a brad on the bottom (it can be various sizes long depending on how big you want to make your pumpkins - (the pumpkins here are about 7" long strips of 1" wide paper).

For the stalk - I just cut out some brown cardstock and rolled it and then glued it to the top of the pumpkin
For the leaves - I cut out some leaves using the Tim Holtz die: Tattered Dies and then sponged them and attached them over the stalk
For the vines - I just cut some very thin pieces of paper and curled them around my pen and then attached them to the leaves.

I loved making these pumpkins! Thanks to my friend Michelle for the inspiration!
