HI Everyone,

I love love love birthday celebrations - and for some reason - this year, I am really excited about my birthday! Which happens to be today - September 3rd :) YAY!

Why am I excited? I don't know - but I am really looking forward to it -  So I thought I would give away something special ------one of my most FAVORITE craft item ---> to some lucky person, which is.............. (drum roll please!!!)..........

an EVERYDAY DISPLAY BOARD from Creative Memories! (in white)
Here is a picture -   (note: the decoration on the board is just an idea - it doesn't come with the board)
This board measures 18 inches by 18 inches and is pretty solid.... it has a magnetic frame so you can always change things around and display your scrapbook pages, your pics, things to do list.... the possibilities are endless....

if you click HERE - you can read more awesome features of this great product! (You can also click here and here to see some projects that I have made with it)

So all you have to do for the chance to get one of these awesome boards is leave a comment about one of your favorite birthday traditions -  here at the end of this post. (my most favorite tradition is our breakfast birthday party in pajamas with my family - a little pancake here, a few cupcakes there, throw in some waffles, a fruit salad and hugs from my kids and DH --- the day couldn't get better!)

You can comment from today through Sunday (Sept 7th) at midnight - then on the morning of Monday, (September 8th) - I will print out your comments - put your names in a hat and let my son pick out the lucky person!!! So be sure to check back here on Mon!

Oh my gosh, that is so cool! I have never seen these. I'm working on a scrapbook page for my mom of her mom and dad (both deceased) this would be great to put it in and give to her as a gift! Thanks for the opportunity to win one! Judi

Happy Happy Birthday!

My favorite birthday tradition is getting a Jamoca Almond Fudge birthday pie from B&R's. Now that I'm not living at home anymore, I actually get Jamoca Almond Fudge. I used to beg and beg for this flavor as a kid, but my dad didn't like coffee flavored ice cream, so we always ended up with cookies and cream. It's nice that as an adult I can pick the cake I want on my birthday.

=) Hope your day is awesome Sankari! Many blessings...

wow, loved your cupcake tree card. You do some lovely work :o) Since havibg kids my favourite birthday tradition is getting to spend time alone in my stamp/scrapbook room. It's the best gift a mom could get IMO. Thanks for the chance to win some awesome blog candy.

One of our birthday traditions is you get to choose what you want for dessert: cupcakes, cookies, cake, or brownies. You also get to choose what we have for supper that night. Anything you want.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

One of our favorite birthday traditions is actually a night before tradition. The night before a birthday, we take a photo of the birthday child in bed holding up fingers showing how old s/he is NOW. It is the very last photo at that age. It's silly and sends the child off to sleep giggling and dreaming of the birthday fun to be had the next day. When they were babies we used a stacking ring for the zero before their first birthdays. My oldest is now 10, so after that we'll have to make signs. lol

Happy Birthday! I hope you have a fabulous day! Congrats on the Taylored Expressions Featured Stamper gig too! You are on a roll! As for a tradition, the only thing I am certain of is that I will get an ice cream cake; other than that everything is different, every year (which is a good thing for me!)

My husband and I share a June 12th birthday. We usually go out for a nice dinner. One of my favorite places is The Cheesecake Factory. I love the Avocado Eggrolls appetizer and the Miso Salmon or Herb Crusted Filet of Salmon. The menu is so huge. We bring home our slices of cheesecake and have just a bite. Yummy!

Well, happy birthday to you! How fun! My newest tradition for myself is to take the day for myself! I go off and do all the yummy things that I just love to do.

Happy Birthday, Sankari! That is so generous of you!

I LOVE birthdays. In my family birthdays are way bigger than Christmas! The Birthday person is treated like royalty the whole day. We don't wrap the gifts - we play a guessing game! And we don't buy a cake...the cake is baked and designed by the rest of the family, so every year the cake is a work of art! lol

In my mother's family, the birthday person takes everyone else out for dinner!

Happy Birthday! My favorite birthday tradition is going out and buying my own presents (because I usually want clothes, shoes, or stamping stuff), and then giving them to my husband to give back to me on my birthday:). I love your blog--I'm a friend of Brooke's (we live near each other) and I also do the KW challenges. Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful ideas!

My favorite tradition is....well....I don't know...I've never really had any cool traditions on my birthday...But I do have a friend that sets her cell phone alarm for midnight on everyone's birthday so she can wake up and send them a text...She is always the first one with the birthday wish, it is very sweet!

Happy Birthday Sankari! Oh my! You are giving away blog candy on YOUR birthday?!? That's amazing lady!
The birthday tradition in my family is we sing to the birthday person. All day long I'll get phone calls with a family member at the other end of the line singing. :)

BIRTHDAYS!! What fun to celebrate one's life with those closest to us! My fav is when my family decides to surprise me with a SURPRISE!!! birthday party! Oh, such fun to see what extremes they will come up with!

Birthdays are such fun! The older I get the more I want to make it special just knowing I survived another year! I NEED a birthday cake for some reason...otherwise I don't feel like I was special to anyone on that day..been known to make my own as I am special to me!
Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday! My favorite birthday tradition is to celebrate my birth-MONTH! My poor husband has to treat me even more like a princess than he already does for the entire month of September!! :) Hope your day was wonderful and you get to continue the good feelings throughout the next year! Thanks for the chance...

For the kids' birthdays, we let them stay up as late as they want (not on a school night, of course) and they can have leftover birthday cake for breakfast the next morning. Thanks for the awesome giveaway op!

Happy Birthday!! What a cool prize. My favorite birthday tradition is going out to eat and the birthday person gets to pick the place to eat and mom buys. We do that for everyones birthday. So we get to go out to eat at least once a month.

Felicia said...

Once again Happy Belated Birthday Sankari! Our birthday tradition is the birthday person picks their favorite meal they want me to either cook or we go out to eat. I'm shocked most of my family chooses for me to cook. I also make them their favorite flavored cake, and we open presents. Oh yes and we must always have a pinata, well for the kids at least. ;)

I hope you had a wonderful birthday ! You have a great blog, so full of inspiration. My favorite tradition is the cake I always have for my birthday, chocolate cake with fluffy white frosing, the kind like 7 minute frosing. Yummy.

Happy late birthday! My favorite is that my parents take me out so sushi and hubby comes along. It's the one time of year that I can drag him to sushi and he can't complain. :)

Cool board!! I LOVE birthdays too. I guess my favorite tradition is getting my favorite cake (marble) from this expensive bakery. My kids are so spoiled and they have to have their cake from there too. So I guess 'cake' is our family birthday tradition. Happy Birthday!!

Happy Belated Birthday!!! I love your card!
Our tradition is to decorate the whole house!... streamers, balloons, decorations, hats, etc. And we leave it up for a whole week! lol... we wonder if the kids will want to keep this up when they are older :)

I found your blog by visiting Taylor's and was wowed by your work. My favorite birthday tradition is helping to bake my own cake! My daughter and I bake it together. - Mary R.

Deborah Long said...

Our birthday tradition is my grandmother's birthday cake recipe - no birthday would be complete without one - although we do argue about whether the frosting should have be flavored with lemon or left vanilla!

Have a great birthday!

Happy birthday

I hope you had a wonderful birthday! I love birthdays too... so long as they are someone elses!! {wink!}

My FAVE birthday tradion is the home made cake we get just after dinner. The birthday person picks what flavor cake and frosting they want and the rest of the family, in my case the hubby and the kidlets, bakes it for the bithday person. There are always yummy sprinkles on top and a round of "Happy Birthday" sung REALLY loud as the cake is being cut. Homemade cake is always the best!

Thanks for the op to win your YUMMY blog candy!

I'm afraid we don't have any real birthday traditions. Just the standard "you get to pic out your cake and where you want to go eat". Kinda boring. . .But I certainly wish you a fabulous birthday! Hope is was very special! And what a nice thing to do to give on your birhtday! Best, Curt

Happy Birthday once again Sankari! I'm so glad you came to say hi at the ArtWalk, that was awesome to get to actually see you!

One birthday tradition in my family that always confuses people is that after we blow out the candles we're not allowed to talk till we have a bite of cake or the wish won't come true! Of course the rest of the family tries to tease you into talking, which as young kids resulted in a few re-lighting of the candles and starting over, as I'm sure you can imagine! heh heh.
